Now that's all out of the way in the thread title we've all got to head down the "things can and will only get better now" ok?? All ailments stop and nothing but good things will befall us all.

Right.

Feeling a bit happier - DH has just rung to say we're booked into a country club in Chepstow in 2 weekends (it's my birthday today - had just about forgotten!) - last child free weekend for next 18 years (no-one is going to be daft enough to have 3 kids for us!). Meant to be romantic break but the only bedroom action I'll be having is sleep! DH is sure this one is a girl as was very much gagging for it with DS but with DD would have been more happy with twin beds!

My tummy button has just popped - I'm at the end of the stats too - it's never popped before just gone flat. Hoping it's the shape of the bump this time not the size of the baby! Got midwife this afternoon so will be interesting to see if it's had a growth spurt.

Hersetta · 04/07/2007 12:29

I have a growth scan tomorrow as well followed by consultants appointment so fingers crossed that bubs is growing well. She seems to have learnt a couple of new tricks in the last week. The first one is both kicking and punching at the same time - so both ribs and bladder take a bashing. The second is stretching - she now seems to like to stretch her hegs out as far as she can - right up to underneath my boobs and have a ferret around- feels very odd and uncomfortable and I can feel her legs doing this by pressing my bump.

I think I must be growing a bit too as people have finally started to offer me seats on the central line - both going home yesterday and this morning so my faith in human nature is being restored.

Would love to join you for the meet up ladies as I'm not too far away (Herts) but will still be chained to the office unfortunately.

itchyncsratchy · 04/07/2007 12:31

Happy Birthday Loler! How lovely a weekend alone with DH. Are you doing anything nice today?
Poor dp we're still 'making the effort' now and again but I feel so immobile it's not very sexy. We plan to have new babe sleep with us for first 6 months at least so I'm guessing it's going to be a long while before we return to our glorius hayday..

GillL · 04/07/2007 13:07

Glad you had a good holiday loler. I know what you mean about child free weekends. I've only got 1 at the moment but I can't really send her to my mum and dad's too often because she doesn't always sleep through the night and gets up at 6:30 at weekends. I don't think they'd cope with 2 of them until they're both sleeping through the night.

bananabump · 04/07/2007 13:15

Ooh Happy Birthday, loler! Hope you have a lovely time.

Hersetta, best of luck with your growth scan, but I think if baby can reach your boobs with her feet, you've got nothing to worry about!

By the way, I had a dream last night that I read on here that someone in the august thread was going to be induced early, no idea who. Wonder if it'll come true? I'm dying to know who will pop first. Place your bets! Who's measuring biggest??

Mrsshuvel · 04/07/2007 13:25

Happy Birthday Loler

Good Luck Herstta, let us know how you get on.

I'm betting on you Banana with all your nesting - has to be a sign

Washersaurus · 04/07/2007 13:26

Happy Birthday Loler!

Banana - what a scary dream! I'm one of the first of the queue at the August door, but am sure that Mum2george is measuring bigger than me at the moment....

Hersetta- hope growth scan is all ok (which I'm sure it will be), I am looking forward to maybe catching a glimpse of my little one on Friday morning (on the scan screen of course; we still need a bit more prep time before meeting the real thing )

tokentotty · 04/07/2007 13:29

B*ggering internet connection. Just typed a long mail and lost it. Tch !

Happy Birthday SweetyDarling and Loler! wow, there really are lots of Cancerian mums having babies in August. It's someone else's birthday this week too - is it you Hersetta? Or maybe it's Annie (I can't remember... just for a change).

Good luck with those somersaults Annie!! I think I'd struggle to do much more than simply float about at the moment...

Hi to everybody else!

bananabump · 04/07/2007 13:36

Cripes noooo, not me thanks, I want one of you to do it first so I can ask how bad it REALLY is!

Anyway they won't have any cause to induce me yet, he's still only about 5lb. And I don't care if I go overdue (may eat my words here) I do not want an induction, he'll come out when he's cooked.

Off to get some things done around the house and maybe attack the second coat of paint (with the roller this time) in the bathroom. Can't wait to be able to close the door on at least one room of the house and say it's DONE.

Mrsshuvel · 04/07/2007 13:44

You can add me to the Cancerian list too, i'm on the 17th July. Definitely something spooky about this

SweetyDarling · 04/07/2007 13:50

Where abouts is the meet-up?

GillL · 04/07/2007 14:01

We're meeting up at Bluewater. TT will be getting some baby stuff and I've got to get an outfit for my sister's wedding.

growingbagpuss · 04/07/2007 14:06

And I'll just be drinking coffee........ oh, and perhaps getting a giant bra from John Lewis...

Mrsshuvel · 04/07/2007 14:27

And i'll be waddling round after everyone

Annie75 · 04/07/2007 14:33

Ooh yes, happy bday Ioler and Sweetydarling! Isn't it odd? Mine tomorrow So how many of us have bdays June/July overall?

Went for my swim and it felt really good to be weightless for a change. Didn't feel any sesmic movements though. Keep having calamitous lunchtimes at the moment Managed to run out of change for the hair dryer (so hair now dripping wet at work), then ran out of petrol on the way back and had to wait for someone to bring emergency supplies. Yesterday I managed to slip in mud giving the dog a quick walk around the park and realised it was my last pair of clean bottoms that fitted me - and this was after spending lunchtime with my head down a toilet... Needless to say I've managed to squeeze out a few hormonal tears both times. Bah, wish I was at home with a cup of hot choc, the cat and a good film.

Can't wait to see who'll give birth first - I keep checking the announcements thread just in case...

growingbagpuss · 04/07/2007 14:39

Blimey Annie - the pregnancy hormones have really got you haven't they? And I thought my brain had swiss cheesed....

I found in my last week at work that I could spell "play doh" but not "epilepsy" which is a bit embarrassing - and my typing has got worse too.

Know what u mean about last pairs of fitting clothes too - I have 2 pairs of long trousers that fit (and one pair is in the wash), 1 skirt, and several shorts which havne't seen the light of day since April!!

Babylovesmuffins · 04/07/2007 14:48

Aw Annie. Poor you. Hope things pick up in time for tomorrow The last time I went swimming I left my locker key hanging in the showers the whole time I was in the pool... and my wedding and engagement rings were in my locker, nevermind everything else . Total pregnancy muddle-brain.

How much longer have you got left at work?
Roll on maternity leave with hot chocolate and good films on tap!! I've got Series 5 of 24 sitting waiting for me!!

SweetyDarling · 04/07/2007 14:52

Sorry - where/what is Bluewater?

SweetyDarling · 04/07/2007 14:55

Oh Annie, What a rotten day!

MrsBadger · 04/07/2007 14:56

tis a big shopping mall in Kent

SweetyDarling · 04/07/2007 14:57

Oh I see, prob won't be able to make that then. Bummer.
Can you take a group bump photo though!?

boobooma · 04/07/2007 15:02

Itchy, I'm getting my brother to bring yorkshire curd tarts down from Leeds when he visits in a few weeks. Really miss them, nothing quite like it.

Mrsshuvel · 04/07/2007 15:04

Sounds like a nightmare Annie! I wish i had a pair of trousers that still fitted. I wore a pair 2 weeks ago that were suposed to last all the way through PG. By the time i got home from work my belly felt sooo bruised and battered they have been banished to a suitcase under the bed. Might be able to wear them staight afterwards for a while. Although no doubt the weather will be boiling and too hot for them. All i have is 3 tent dresses and numerous pairs of maternity shorts that are useless at the moment. Everyone keeps saying that i am lucky the weather's not hot etc. I supose i am in a way but i refuse to buy more trousers, i only have 5 1/2 weeks left. OMG i only have 5 1/2 weeks left >

Annie75 · 04/07/2007 15:06

Only another two and a half weeks I was such a div, I honestly thought I'd work up until my due date at first but couldn't think of anything worse now! Everything starts to slow down - brain, body, mouth...

Ah, have a nice list of things planned for those weeks before the baby is due including: pregnancy massage, lots of (nice) cooking, lots of eating it, catching up on entire series of progs I've missed but recorded, sunny walks with the dog, persuading friends to do a bunk off work and come for a shop and lunch, going to the cinema, arranging baby stuff into neat and satisfying piles and lots and lots of sleeping .

How are you filling your days, those who've started leave or aren't working? Any tips?
