Mauis I’m on ondansetron and seriously, you will need a laxitive. It’s terriboe for constipation. I’m on a laxitive and even so I still have constipation! Please get one quickly before it gets too bad.

fee1234 · 23/11/2018 16:32

@stellarfox wow that's amazing, I want to do that too! How did you send it to them?

Torsz · 23/11/2018 16:32

@stellarfox that's awesome!! It may be just a bit of fun but I've just ordered mine 😃 I had to do the less accurate one as our scan was at 11+6 - although I can't imagine one day makes a huge difference?!

MauisLeftNipple · 23/11/2018 16:37

Reastie i have two giant bottles of lactulose at the ready. Have sent hubby to supermarket for coconut based snacks.

I think the main issue today (I'm in a lot of windy pain) is thst I haven't kept food down since Monday, therefore there's not much to come out the other end. Ate full breakfast and lunch today and my tummy's had a shock. Plus ondansetron.

socktastic · 23/11/2018 16:40

I found a high consumption of weetabix helped with consipation last pregnancy.

Took my wee boy to the docs today - he has slap cheek. I know from work if there's slap cheek, pregnant people are supposed to stay away but obviously that's not an option! I don't really know what the risks/consequences might be. Any advice?

stellarfox · 23/11/2018 17:02

@fee1234 You order on their website (google thenubtechs) and then submit all the scans you have on an online form. They are really quick to come back to you! Would be lovely to see yours and @Torsz results! Also if they think they can’t tell from your scans, they will automatically refund you your money which is good!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 23/11/2018 17:08

Prunes. Everyone. Prunes.

stellarfox · 23/11/2018 17:15

@fee1234 Oh if you do do it it’s 50% off today with Black Friday coupon code

Torsz · 23/11/2018 17:21

@stellarfox I knew it!!!

Torsz · 23/11/2018 17:21

@stellarfox dammit, didn't know about the discount!

stellarfox · 23/11/2018 17:32

@Torsz ooh exciting!! No I didn’t see the discount code in time but never mind it wasn’t too expensive! I think it would be such a fun job analysing these scans 😄

fee1234 · 23/11/2018 18:04

@stellarfox thanks! My scan is on Monday and I will be 13 weeks, so will send it away the same day 😊

curlypasta · 23/11/2018 19:09

Oooo where’s the coupon code for the nub techs? I might have a play now!

Fabuluce · 23/11/2018 19:18

Ooh that nub thing is interesting - is rising nub a willy then?

Ithinkthatsenough I'm not surprised you're feeling rubbish. The first tri is emotional enough without factor factoring loss dates in there too. Be kind to yourself and tick off those dates.

Prunes, prunes, prunes. Lactulose didn't work for me which was deeply disappointing as you can imagine. I'm sure there's another pregnancy friendly laxative out there though. Did the hospital not recommend something suitably powerful?

Reastie · 23/11/2018 19:23

I’m on senna from the gp as my laxitive. There are some otc ones that are fine for pg but I forget the name.

MauisLeftNipple · 23/11/2018 19:31

Adding prunes to the shopping list!

No one at the hospital mentioned the horribly constipating effect of ondansetron (new drug I'm on), despite the fact I told them I was already constipated. They didnt offer laxatives either. I'll seee my GP Monday if I have no luck over the weekend.

stellarfox · 23/11/2018 20:14

@curlypasta see the image I think it’s just “BLACK FRIDAY”

Oooh the nub tech test sounds fun! My scan was only 11+4 though so I don't think I can do it 😫

Pigriver · 23/11/2018 21:31

Movicol for constipation! I hadn’t been for a week and was feeling so ill. Finally managed to go this morning and literally weighed 1kg less after 😳
I was constipated all through my last pregnancy and for 9 months after. I should have been prepared but a diet of mainly beige carbs is going to have certain effects!

Torsz · 23/11/2018 21:46

My scan was 11+6 @MadeInCornwallx3 - they have a cheaper option for early scans called 'just for fun' which is what I did!

SassehMonsta · 24/11/2018 02:17

After having to unblock the loo from monster poos a few times this week, I have bought some fibrogel to try from the chemist. Its pregnancy safe and says so on the packet! I'll have to let you know how I get on...!!

Curlywurly3 · 24/11/2018 06:05

@fee1234 I'm going to Iceland in 2 weeks!

I've been quiet over the last few weeks as I've been so busy with work and also feeling rubbish! I started to feel better a couple of days ago which is a good thing but also makes you worry!! I have been lurking in the background to see how you're all getting on and also taking on some advice, so thank you!

I'm 10 weeks today and had a scan at 7+2, the sonographer was very happy with the heartbeat and kept saying it was beautiful. I could see it and then she also let me hear it which was unbelievable!

My NHS scan isn't until 13th December so we have booked another scan for Thursday as we are planning to tell DP's 2 DC next weekend. We are a little nervous and hoping they will be happy. They are great kids so hopefully all will be OK!

I'll attach a picture of my scan even if it was almost 3 weeks ago! It also shows the heartbeat which is pretty cool. Hoping it will be much bigger on Thursday!

I've been awake since 4am and I'm currently sat on my sofa with a cup of tea and some toast... How times have changed. I remember a time I used to be coming in at this time from a night out 😂

Good to see you're all doing well.. despite the sickness and the constipation and the tiredness 🙈 xx

My bowels have historically been resistant to the actions of fybrogel and movicol. Lactulose has always worked (after my first birth - an emcs where I was given codeine afterwards- I glugged it from the bottle in desperation). Have added tinned prunes to the shopping list though.
