Calling all up-duffed Yammers! Come and continue the swearing and the love on our pregnancy thread, and let us never forget how lucky we are! Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Si1ver · 03/01/2019 09:56

Yes, EPU can't do anything until you're 6 weeks sadly. Keep testing and if you're getting positives at 6 weeks then go to EPU.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. Take care of yourself.

Pinkemi · 03/01/2019 10:02

I'm so sorry @impatientmammy. (hugs)

impatientmammy · 03/01/2019 10:39

Thank you ladies I just got a BFN on a clearblue so I'm going to
Unfollow here now. Hopefully I'll be back soon. Take care xx

WonkyDonk87 · 03/01/2019 11:30

Hopeislost · 03/01/2019 17:07

So sorry to hear that @impatientmammy Thanks

SoozC · 03/01/2019 22:46

Really sorry to hear it, Impatient. I know what an early loss is like after so long ttc. Do look after yourself, take time if you need to and make plenty of time for you and your DP as a couple. Flowers

Sorry to hear this news Impatient. It's truly rotten.

Teachermummy83 · 04/01/2019 01:12

Hi ladies,
I’ve just found this thread and recognise so many of your names from the yammer threads where you all helped keep me sane!
Delighted to be able to ask to join here now?! After almost 2 years we finally got our wish on Christmas morning and although we’re terrified of another chemical, 3 tests and a GP visit later, I’m tentatively excited about being 6 weeks pregnant! Excited but terrified too!
How are you all feeling?
So sorry to hear what’s happened @impatient, It’s the most awful news. Hugs to you xx

WonkyDonk87 · 04/01/2019 07:12

Good Morning Teachermummy83, congratulations and welcome. What a lovely way to start your Christmas morning!

Si1ver · 04/01/2019 08:23

Congratulations @Teachermummy83, what a great Christmas present!

Teachermummy83 · 04/01/2019 08:48

Thank you @si1ver and @wonkydonkey, it definitely was! 😀 How far on are you guys now? Are things going well for you both?
We’re totally over the moon but really nervous too. Desperately hoping this baby sticks with us 🤞🏼 The fear of how much needs organised in the next 7 months has set in - I’ve not much clue about all the bits to buy, these loads of general household stuff to get on top of, and all the renovations to organise and finish off in the house before baby arrives..... it’s suddenly more than a little bit daunting!

Si1ver · 04/01/2019 10:10

Don't panic! Loads of bits can be bought cheaply from FB or eBay - I got our side along cot, bouncing chair, play mat/baby gym, bath seat, changing table and a poddle pod all second hand and in great condition. The side along cot hasn't actually been used at all.

I'm nearly 37 weeks now. Hoping to evict the baby fairly shortly.

WonkyDonk87 · 04/01/2019 10:14

36 weeks here. Feeling stressed and not-ready still. Agree with S1lver, look on gumtree/facegeek marketplace for bargains. Our area has Little Pickle Markets, don't know if they're national though.

I spent a fecking fortune on a hypnobirthing course but the woman was rubbish and I regret it now. Ladies, if you're considering it then just do the online one with the Positive Birth Company, save your cash! Spends another £47 because she's still stressy and panicking

Teachermummy83 · 04/01/2019 10:39

Thanks @si1ver and @wonky, great advice! 😊
I’ve been looking at January sales but a bit dubious to buy yet incase I jinx something! Had a Christmassy sleepsuit in my trolley the other day but put it back as the fear set in! I’ve noticed lots of great stuff on local marketplace but I live in a very rural, close-knit area, so I’m not keen to buy until after our scan - Me buying baby stuff will definitely spread rumours like wildfire!!! Definitely hoping to pick up lots of bits second hand though, and I know family and friends will hopefully offer things too so that’s good. I’m feeling queasy today and can’t decide if it’s the start of nausea or just lack of sleep (my body clock is all to-pot from festivities or maybe pregnancy, who knows?! 🤷🏻‍♀️) I’m on a mission today though - we have lots of gutting out to do that i’d planned to get done during the holidays and this news has spurred things on with the need to re-shuffle rooms to create a baby’s room - daunting but exciting too! In the mood to chuck stuff so getting on with it before I change my mind! Hopefully this new time-scale will be the kick up the bum we need to get all these jobs done!!! 😂

WonkyDonk87 · 04/01/2019 10:48

I've been spurred on to do the mega-chuck-out too (usually do a post Christmas one anyway as a way of cleansing the house). Marie Kondo is my saviour Grin

Hopeislost · 04/01/2019 13:56

@Teachermummy83 Congratulations! I'm with you on the too-scared-to-buy-Stuff front. 25 weeks and still not bought a thing! Three family members bought the baby Christmas presents and the MIL has bought so many baby clothes already!

@WonkyDonk87 Am loving Marie Kondo! We are in a one bedroom flat so am plotting a big clear out before baby comes!

maddiie3 · 05/01/2019 13:18

Hi! I'm here from Yam Fam, I was around for the three or so threads if I remember rightly (had been ttc for over 2 years and a secret thread lurker for a lot longer though) I found out I was pregnant 7 weeks ago and have been trying to hold of until my 12 week scan to join this thread as didn't feel eligible as I am a negative nelly who's been literally waiting for something to go wrong.. but after two years of struggling to even get where I am today is amazing and I need to woman up and enjoy it for what it is. I've been wallowing in pity for the last week convinced I've had a missed miscarriage - even though I have HG and no cause for concern whatsoever. Currently 11+2.. 12 week scan next Thursday so last leg of first trimester! Please tell me I'll become less neurotic in the second BlushGrin

Hopeislost · 05/01/2019 14:11

@maddiie3 Congratulations! I understand the anxiety; it's hard when you've been trying for so long not to worry! I didn't really believe it or tell a soul until my 12 week scan as I was so worried! The worry won't go away, but it does get better!

WonkyDonk87 · 05/01/2019 18:32

Congratulations @maddiie3 ! Don't worry, you'll relax more once the 12 week can is done. I refused to accept it was really happening until then and was gobsmacked to see the clear image of the baby.

Need a bit of reassurance tonight guys. Having a hormonal wobble. Still have a week of work left before maternity leave starts and loads to do (pack hospital bag, sort baby stuff, build cot, build dresser, wash and build next2me, wash all the clothes for baby etc etc). Feeling really stressed and like I haven't gotten organised in time (had planned to be ready by Xmas so I could relax in Jan - what a knob! Nowhere near 🙄). My sister went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks with her first. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and baby has definitely dropped. I'm going to go into fecking labour the day after I stop work, aren't I? ☹️

Teachermummy83 · 05/01/2019 18:53

Aww, what a shame @Wonky, I’m sure everyone has the same wobbles! I’m sure you’re actually much more organised than you think. How about focussing on one thing at a time, and trying to prioritise things in date order? Maybe the hospital bag and me2you crib first? Maybe bung on a load of baby washing in the background? I’m sure that worst-case scenario, the cot and dresser could wait until after bub arrives if need be? I’m a great believer in lists too -I find crossing off the jobs helps me stress less and I strategically leave them where hubby can see them so he takes the hint and helps too!
I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed with everything we need to buy and do to get the house ready for our wee one too but am terrified to start in case things go wrong. Part of me still doesn’t actually believe I’m pregnant so I’m terrrified to get my hopes up until that sonographer tells me it’s all ok. Daft, but Id rather that than have my hopes dashed again.

WonkyDonk87 · 05/01/2019 19:00

Great minds think alike Teachermummy83 I'm making DH write a list with me tonight! He's just ordered the changing bag online and tomorrow we build furniture! Reckon with having two things to build we can get a decent few loads of washing done too Grin

Teachermummy83 · 05/01/2019 20:04

Aww, good plan @wonky, lists are the way to go! I’m sure you’ll rattle through it and feel much better by this time tomorrow 😊 I love the look of the next2me, I may be too nervous to buy just now but I’m certainly window shopping my way though the sales with a vengeance!!! 🤣
I found a list on another thread of all the stuff you ‘need’ and that is ‘recommended’ for having a baby! Oh My Lord, SERIOUSLY!??! If I buy all that, there won’t be room for the baby itself!! 🤪 Please tell me I can cross of half the gadgets Mothercare day are essential?

WonkyDonk87 · 05/01/2019 20:39

It's like the lists of things you're supposed to do in wedding magazines 🙄

SoozC · 05/01/2019 20:56

If you post a list here I can tell you which things I've used/haven't used since having the boy!
