banana brains here- decide to defrost chilli/spag bol mix to make a lasagna for tea. Take 2 pots out. Defrost both. 1 is flippin curry!!!!!!!!!!! so I had to pad the chilli out with more chilli beans and the curry will have to do for lunch tomorrow- duh

RGPargy · 03/07/2007 16:57

Hahaha Pixiefish!! I think it's normal for your brains to go to mush. My head is terrible at the moment - i feel like my intelligence is being sapped out of me!!

choudru · 03/07/2007 17:52

Purplepants - what an ogre. Just sounds like he's an unhappy person who needs to find people to vent his unhappiness on.

Rise above it and just be smug that you're life is full of hope and expectation, whereas he probably has issues about the size of his manhood.

Pixie - join the club. I recently spent 10 mins trying to lock the car door using the button to shut the windows with.

Plus a lot of starting sentences and completely forgetting the point of what I was going to say.

Like I said - our brains shrink by 8% when we're pregnant so it's got to show up somehow!

choudru · 03/07/2007 17:54

Oh my lord RG You saucy mare!

How did DP take it? Is he like most men who would prefer to remain under the illusion that no man had touched you before they came along to deflower you?

easywriter · 03/07/2007 18:29

I'm so naive I didn't understand the 'toy' thing, but I'm getting there, bet it livens the hell out of packing!

Between you and Choudru locking her car doors with the widows button, I'm feeling a v. cheery soul! I get the starting a sentence and forgetting what I was going to say to though lckily that never happens when the sentence is please can you go out and get me a mars bar. (think i'll have a re run of that one tonight!)

Well done NYKate and Dawn, wonder how Mimi went today.

Has anyone got a crush on anyone at the moment? I'm madly 'in lurve, L-U-V' with Daniel Craig at the moment. I so don't do blondes I'm wondering if I am in fact destined to become the next Mrs Bond (yeah, cos that's likely) or if it's another hormone thang!

Pixiefish · 03/07/2007 18:32

Just re-read your post RG and eeeeekkkkkkk

Pixiefish · 03/07/2007 18:32

Loopy- I have an ergo and a coorie sling. Ergo isn't really suitable for a newborn though as it's the classic. although the coorie is suitable I don't fancy the newborn carry. Think I'll get myself a wrap

choudru · 03/07/2007 19:06

Loopy when you put it that way - moving, pregnant, new business - it does sound like a lot!

Add to that the fact that DH is busy with renovating a flat that we were supposed to finish and sell months ago and that just about covers everything we've got on at the moment!

Plus in the process of reclaiming my bank charges - got Barclays to pay out last week

Which is why I put all that to one side to investigate the cheapest I can get a P&T. Mothercare do the buggy, doubles kit, double rain cover and cocoon for a total of £462.

Baby2K do it all for £418. With a free tyre care kit.

My target is to get it under £400.

Easy - my pregnant and non-pregnant crush is Daniel Craig. If you want him, we'll just have to share.

About slings - I got a huggababy with DS but never got the hang of it. Will try again with this baby but if I don't get on with it I'll give it away!

Wouldn't kick David Tenant out of bed either

Ok - found a website that does P&T buggy, doubles kit, raincover and cocoon for £412.

Cheapest by £6.

Choudru - Are you going to ask if they do discount?

My friend always does (in exactly those words with little preamble) and I'm shocked at how many times she gets 10% or more knocked off.

Plan to try it myself but am too scared.

Pixiefish · 03/07/2007 19:41

oooooop North loopys- a few hours away from Cardiganshire

easywriter · 03/07/2007 19:41

eeek! I am the number of the beast

littleoldme · 03/07/2007 20:03

Purple - what a tosser. People like that are so frustrating. I once had a similar altercation with a burberry clad teen in a Suburu impreza. He was coming the wrong way down a one way street and seemed to think it unreasonable that I expected him to get out of the way. I rang the police and reported him for dangerous driving. He actually used the phrase, " Am I bothered" !

I've manged to acquire a free stair gate , baby bath, moses basket and cot. I got a second hand Mamas and papas travel system for £150 feeling v smug > due to my prudence I feel completely justified in spending loads of money on cute outfits once I've had the scan.

It's been V busy since Friday when I last on. Gald all is well for everyone.

My brain is going to custard too. Whilst cleaning out my classroom on Friday I managed to throw away my school keys. never to seen again.

choudru · 03/07/2007 20:07

Loopy - kiddicare do it all for £418 including a free travel cot. Only do red and charcoal though.

I quite fancy the green one and wouldn't use a travel cot so the search goes on.

Easy - you bet I'm going to ask for a discount. Well, I'll get DH to do it

There's a place in Manchester that do a price promise. It's only 10 mins from my mum's so might go in there and see what they can do...

choudru · 03/07/2007 20:16

If I order the buggy + doubles kit from one website for £350 and the raincover + cocoon from another for £57, I can get it all for £407.

Another £5 off.

This is becoming a challenge...

Just had to get away from Gillian McNasty on the TV why is she just soooooo vile to people ??????

and I see that the race is on to find the cheapest P&T![.........................drum roll for effect]
Thanks for all the words of support earlier by the way everyone - I drizzled again telling my mum about it blush] but I'm now duly fed, glass of wined, chocolated and relaxed - peace and bovine tranquility has resumed in the purplepants household.

Another ergo fan here - haven't got the newborn insert though and wondering whether it'll be worth the bother as I've got a Calin Bleu (stretchy wrap) that would be ok for the early months i I think - has anyone else got the insert?

bad luck on the house Loops - what's meant to be etc etc.....

OP posts:
purplepants · 03/07/2007 20:27

just a thought... but with the weak dollar/strong pound would a US site be cheaper - even with tax/shipping? DH is bringing ours back as baggage but we still reckon it's going to be loads cheaper even with the import tax so may be worth a look.
