Cheap knickers from Matalan / primark (more comfue than paper and cheap so you can throw them!

Jossiejump · 27/06/2007 15:15

comfue?, meant comfie!

choudru · 27/06/2007 15:24

Aren't you familiar with the word comfue Jossie? It translates to 'unsexy and something you never dreamed you'd been seen dead in'

;)

RG - I got my flipflops free with a mag and would chuck them afterwards due to paranoia of spreading MRSA across north leeds. I have a duty to littleoldme at least since she's down the road from me

Hi KnaphillLiz - 32 weeks is early! How long was the LO in hospital for?

We had similar experience - as has Sparkly more than once!

Let's hope we all last till November!

choudru · 27/06/2007 15:26

Now stop distracting me you lot - I'm supposed to be house hunting.

KnaphillLiz · 27/06/2007 15:38

Hi all

Loopymumsy
oh yes.. unbelievably tiring running round after toddler, not so bad now but in those first three months when all i wanted to do was curl up on the sofa..agghghh

Choudru
Doug was actually perfectly all right, though had to stay in NICU ward for 10 days to get antibiotics and then i tried to get him breastfeeding , though his sucking instinct hadn't kicked in, so i stay in transitional ward for a fortnight, then i gave in and expressed and bottle fed

Jossiejump
liking the matalan / primark tip

Does anyone else have huge bump, i know i'm halfway through pregnancy and its my second, but for flips sake, i'm like the side of a house

Loopy - I hope your house hunting is going better than mine!

Knapshill - your DS sounds like he did really well. Know what you mean about it messing up BFing. I ended up expressing as well.

littleoldme · 27/06/2007 16:01

Knap - I spent form weeks 12-14 being told my mt colleagues that I was ' big for three months' now they are telling "you're small for 18 weeks" next time someone feels the need to comment I'm going to tell them they are fat for their age or that they have new wrinkle. Why can't people say that I look well or just ask after my health. The constant ref to my appearance are annoying especially as I have enough hang ups about it ... just realised I', ranting. Anyway no I'm not massive - yet!

Choudru- thanks for your thoughtfulness re MRSA. Imagine an outbreak caused by flip-flops - I can see the headline already.
As long as stop mn -ing and some papers done I should make it to Yoga. Feeling V virtuous as have been swimming twice already this week.

Truth or bobbins? Had an out of the blue v sick day yesterday. Someone told me you're more likely to be sicker for longer if you're rh neg blood. Can anyone shed any light? I'm assuming It's rubbish.

LizzieO · 27/06/2007 16:31

Hi all

sorry to confuse but thought I shouldchange my nickname to something a bit more anon, talk about paranoia....anyhoo

Choudru
I have asked docs whether there is a chance that next one will be prem, and they have kind of said that there may be chance, they have no idea why he came early...did docs give you have reasonsm how early was your son/daugh

Litteoldme

ps can sonmeone enlighten me on all the short codes ie DH is know that means hubby but wots the D in front for..i'm new tothis game

LizzieO · 27/06/2007 16:33

Forgot to mention Littleold me

i'm rhesus neg too, but didn't have any sickness with first preg, but felt quite sicky this time round

littleoldme · 27/06/2007 16:38

D stands for dear. The acronyms confused me too. Theres a blue link at the top page called acronyms. Click on that and you should learn all you need to know. Thanks for the info about the blood thing. I suspect that I have been told a load of pants by my freind.

Pixiefish · 27/06/2007 17:22

Been thinking of names. My surname begins with M and is very unusual (especially in Wales where I live) Tis also an English surname. I want to give the baby a Welsh name (being very Welsh myself ) now the nae I really like begins with an M. Would you do this to your child? I can give it a middle name beginning with Ll so it's initials would be M Ll M

sparklygothkat · 27/06/2007 17:28

Hi, all!! Have been out with my sisters today, one who is 26 weeks pregnant and has SPD (?).
KnaphillLiz I have had 3 premature births, 35, 31 and 33 weeks. I am currently 21 weeks and hoping to get to 36 weeks. I want a big baby this time..

choudru · 27/06/2007 17:31

LizzieO - same here - was no detectable reason why DS (dear son) was early. So they can't predict what will happen this time. My pregnancy was textbook up until my waters broke so there were no early indicators that I can look out for this time.

I have a consultant appointment at 28 weeks to check me over. My waters broke at 30 weeks last time and DS was born a week later.

Apparently in cases where there is no apparent reason for first baby being a premmie, you are around 80% likely to continue to full term the next time.

What have you been told by MW etc?

Littleoldme - I have just had 2-3 days of feeling sick again - not that bad but very similar to first 12 weeks. I think I have noticed that it is more likely to happen when I have been pushing myself and not resting when I'm tired.

You probably just need to rest a bit more?

littleoldme · 27/06/2007 18:21

Choudru - think you right re the resting thing. I've been busy and a tad stressed lately. haven't been sleeping well either. Went to be d at 6 last night and slept t'ill 9 this morning. Woke at four and did the washing up though! Anyway - feeling much better today.

Loopy , Pixie . Know what you mean about the whole names dilemma. We are the last of our friend to have kids so many of the names I wolud have chosen have gone. The other issue is that given our surname months, flowers or anything vaguely nature related is out.

I'm off now - the archers is about to start!!! Can I cope with the excitement

Pixiefish · 27/06/2007 19:21

nappyaddict- someone had a similar message to yours deleted on our last thread- don't think you're meant to do that

littleoldme · 27/06/2007 19:32

I was going to report it but checked her profile - any 18 year old her looks so delighted with her young son deserves a bit of slack IMHO.

sparklygothkat · 27/06/2007 19:36

nappyaddict is a regular Mnetter, not a business

nappyaddict · 27/06/2007 19:40

i don't think i've been on your thread before Confused

i know i'm only meant to put it on for sale but hoped you wouldn't mind me hijacking your thread. thought some pregnant mummys to be might be interested and often unless you are looking for something specific you don't look on the for sale boards. i know how annoyed i feel with myself when i miss something cos i've clicked the no buying/selling thing.

sorry if i've pissed any of you off.

sparklygothkat · 27/06/2007 19:46

NA am interested in some of your bits, is there a for sale thread?

nappyaddict · 27/06/2007 19:48

yes its in the for sale board (well duuuuuuuuh} and it's called baby stuff 0-3 to 6-9 months i think.
