Well done Bubble - glad it was an ok experience and glad Lydia's doing ok

justbeme · 08/07/2007 15:08

Gosh - cant keep up with all these babies- congratulations to Bubble and March bunny and all the best to Cyee and MelissaM - keep us informed!!

Myfairone · 08/07/2007 18:13

Bubble, thats a wonderful birth story! You sound like you completely took it all in your stride and well done on just having gas and air! Hope Lydia is doing okay now.

Well, thanks for the hugs everyone! I managed to pull myself together and accepted a lunch invitation with my parents. Their excitement was infectious and I feel much better now. Fed and watered and going to sit down with the newspaper.

DH is at a concert this afternoon and won't be home till around 11pm. He keeps calling as he is sure that I'm about to go into labour!

Im now sending out big hugs to everyone that needs one and hope that you all had a positive day!

twoplusone · 08/07/2007 19:16

Congratulations marchbunny and bubble, and welcome to your los..

melissa and Cyee sending you lots of labour vibes..

Welcome Chrissybobs [grin

Still no action here, just the same niggles..
we had a day out yesterday, watching dd do her cheerleading it was fab, but as we were leaving the house, dh decided he was putting my suitcase and babies carseat into the boot of the car. He wont let anyone take them out....

Have briefly read through the posts from yesterday and today, ancant remember what people have said, sorry..

Hope everyone is ok..

Positive labour vibes to all........

Chooster · 08/07/2007 20:55

Wonderful news Marchbunny!! and welcome to Sam. There are some good birth stories now and all seem to be going fairly smoothly.

Oooh, I love the excitement of reading about live contractions on here! Keep going Cyee and Melissa - Good luck x

MelissaM · 08/07/2007 22:19

Hi All. After on off contractions all morning, we went for a walk before lunch. 12pm they became more regular. Midwife came to check me at 2pm then left as all ok and coping well. Within 30 mins contractions were coming on top of each other and dh called midwife again (when she got here I was 9 cm dilated).
Evelyn Grace was born at 5:12pm with placenta delivered naturally at 6pm (all at home). No time for pain relief other than a bit of gas & air (I didn't even get any paracetamol!!). DH just about managed to get pool up and filled for last hour of pushing (1 1/2 in total). We're all doing well although we're shattered. Can't believe I didn't even tear (just a minor scratch) although does feel like my insides are falling out when I stand up! . So officially my labour was 6 hours!

Good luck to everyone else and see you on the postnatal thread soon!

Beyonceen · 08/07/2007 22:29

congratulations marchbunny! another one down.
Love the live labour links mellissa and cyee!
missed you 2+1, thought you'd gone already!
myfairone, feeling down too, i think it's the boring wait after rushing around for the last 8 months. I'm worried that i won't be as excited as i was for my first two babes! feeling a bit guilty and tearful.
Hope this is not tmi but on the loo a lot (number 2's) and getting gentle tightenings. Still two weeks to go. Desperate for it to mean something. You 'd think i would stop doing this to myself as it's number three! just desperate to not be so sore and huge any more.
hugs to all
B x

Beyonceen · 08/07/2007 22:31

Dumbledorf · 09/07/2007 06:01

blimey, you miss two days and soooo much happens!!
Congratulations, MMN, Bubble and Melissa M!!

Have been awake since about 5 this morning, is so tedious, waking up early!
This week I am going to pretend I amnot really 39 weeks pg because I am so sick of wondering if every little thing is it!! I just need to accept that the baby will just be here when it's ready and not before, so I am just going to ignore anything that could possibley be a sign!!

I sound really moany, but am not and it looks really bright and sunny here this morning.

Hopefully will go back to sleep in a bit, then in my head have planned day of baking, cooking stuff like spag bol to freeze and knitting (currently bit obsessed with baby bootees - ugg look a likes as we speak!!) - and maybe some swimming too. Sounds idyllic, no? Reality will probably be me eating magnums while I can still justify it, in my pj's, watching Judge Judy!!

Myfairone · 09/07/2007 06:43

Melissa - Congratulations to you and Mr M! Love the names and so pleased that all went well. So it seems that these labours are getting easier girls and setting the bar way too high for the rest of us! Not even a paracetamol Melissa....well done!

Dumbledorf - You hit the nail on the head there for me. I too am looking for every little niggle to mean something and quite frankly I think I'm going to drive myself insane with wondering 'if this is it'! Just need to relax (easier said than done!!)

Love your plan for the day! I have no idea what to do today and the thoughts of all things energetic like swimming are just not going to happen because my bump feels so heavy and low I know I'm just going to collapse in a heap after an hour of tidying up!

Chrissybobs · 09/07/2007 09:10

Fantastic news Melissa and well done for doing it virtually without pain relief and at home too-wow!
That is a really lovely choice of name.
Good luck with your new family.

Cyee- how are you doing-you're very quiet...?

Twoplusone-thanks for the welcome.

Myfairone and Dumbledorf-me too, think I'm going to pop soon!

justbeme · 09/07/2007 09:28

Wow MelissaM! Am in awe - well done and many Congratulations - Nice name too - one of many we are considering (dads mums name).
Well 10 days over, I MAY be on the way, just had a bit of a show and am feeling crampy, so fingers crossed!!

Chrissybobs · 09/07/2007 09:36

Oooo- fingers crossed for you Justbeme!

twoplusone · 09/07/2007 09:45

melissa- Congratulations and welcom Evelyn Grace, lovely names.. How much did she weigh?
Well done on the birth to you did fantastic..
justbeme..... lots of positive labour vibes to you hun. good lcuk lets hope this is it.

To those that think everytwinge could be it, I am with you, and so hoping that it is.. 6days till due date now and really do think that I am going over!! Just want my body back, and to be able to run after ds who thiks it is really funny \t the mo to run away from mummy, as mummy cant catch him.. Boy is he in for a shock in a few weeks ..

tiggsy · 09/07/2007 09:56

congrats and welcome evelyn grace! good luck to everyone else with twinges and niggles (jealous)
all these labours soundind so simple are making me realise what i'm missing out on. will have to get pregnant again with number two so i can experience a natural labour! is that a bit sad and twisted?? wanting the pain?
i too am trying to decide what to do today, it's raining but really close so probably going to veg in front of the fan all day...

twoplusone · 09/07/2007 10:06

Oh the joys of being pg, it is at this stage, that I wish I didnt have the other children.. (sounds wrong I know) but I would love to be able to veg, right now and not worry about, has the ironing been done, how can I entertain ds today, has dd got her sprots kit, packed lunch, guitar flute.. where do I have to take her after school today. Also the cleaning that needs to be done, I seem to spend my entire toime running round the house picking up after everyone, cleaning.etc.. Oh the joys...

Oops sorry was I whinging.. (again!!). I do love being a mother and housewife, just not at this stage in pg.. . DH starts his leave for a month on Friday and I cant wait.

last week we were talking about who was having a baby on the 07/07/07 .
This week will be who will be having a baby on Friday 13th!!!!!!

Groveregg · 09/07/2007 10:10

Congratulations Melissa, lovely homebirth story that gives me faith! Here's hoping Cyee is doing well too. And good luck to you justbeme, hope you get there soon!

Just got my growth scan appointment through, Thurs morning. Looking forward to it but at the same time hoping all is well - really don't want to have to be induced for a Friday 13th baby!!!!

Groveregg · 09/07/2007 10:12

We were both having the same thought at the same time twoplusone!!! Hope this isn't an omen!

Mind you I can't have mine today as it's my ex's birthday... ideally I need it to be the 18th as I worked out the other day that if it's then I will be exactly the same age to the day that my mum was when she had me, how spooky would that be?!

catstar · 09/07/2007 10:29

Wow Groveregg - that would be spooky!!

Congrats to all the new arrivals - some lovely names and postive birth stories which are great for a first timer like me.

Well, it's my due date today and I can't seem to concentrate on anything. I'm flitting from one "job" to another to occupy my mind. My DH seems to be in denial that it could all happen imminently so think I may be looking for labour support on Mumsnet!! It's great to follow what everyone else is going through. I have an appointment for a sweep with the midwife tomorrow which I know does not guarantee action, but fingers crossed eh!!

Good luck with all those twinges girls!!

weddingcake · 09/07/2007 10:35

Just checking in again ...

Congratulations to all the new babies - madmumnika - sounds like it all got a bit scary but glad you're ok.

Looking forward to everyone being on the postnatal thread - think a few of us have defected to the June thread while we wait for all the july babies to show up but will be great to have the july one fully up and running.

Take Care
