Another one who's just had a hair cut!!! Hair was a disastrous mess so I thought I'd treat myself to an expensive place in town. Its really picked me up!!! Today I also thought it would be a good idea to get my lady garden waxed and tidied up - what a HUGE mistake - It was agony - If I can handle that am sure this labour will be fine

Miaou - Have you decided on iron tablets yet? I've been on them for about 3 weeks and its playing havoc with toilet activity . But am still feeling so drained a lot of the time, but maybe its just because I'm 38 wks pg

Congrats to Abgirl on Owen - fab name!!!!

It sounds like things are really kicking off eh!!! My LO is not even engaged yet so am not expecting anything imminent

twoplusone · 06/07/2007 07:36

Bubble- How are you this morning.. anymore activity in the night..

Chooster,- My ds (even though second first natural birth and labour) didnt engage until about an hour (max) before delivery!!.

Hope everyone is ok this morning..

I was, then had tears because a picture fell of the wall.. (canvas so no damage so dont know why I cried..lol) DS was being alittle bleep, but dh gave him had a chat with him before he left for work and he has been good as gold.. Going to get him ready to walk up to creche.

Had some tightenings in bed last night have had a few this morning, but dont think they are anything.

Dh is adiment babs is coming tommorrow as he wants the 07/07/07 birthdate for him , but dd has her cheerleading debut show tommorrow, so if he gets his wish will either have to have him just after midnight tonight, so I can get out of hospital..(if all ok) or cross my legs till after the show..lol...

MelissaM · 06/07/2007 07:49

twoplusone, my dh wants lo to come tomorrow too at 7:07am! Very precise! Sorry to hear you're feeling emotional this morning. Hope you feel better.

Thanks Delor and congratulations. Hope things are ok for you and that you're not too tired out

Glad to hear lots of people getting haircuts etc. I haven't plucked up the courage for waxing, but shaving by touch is getting more and more difficult as I can hardly reach round my bump.

Has anyone else lost all coordination or is it just me? I keep walking into doors and dropping things . DH and his theories! He thinks it's my bodies way of making sure I don't stray too far from home .

dewmeadow · 06/07/2007 08:30

Melissa, Ive beenlike that my entire pregnancy!! Also lost the ability to speak, count, spell properly.

Princesspowersparkle · 06/07/2007 08:43

Ahhhh- another one here who has 07/07/07 in mind!! At least they'd remember the date (you'd hope)...

Feeling big and uncomfy now and my tummy is soooo itchy and rashy! Myfairone am trying your suggestions for this so fingers crossed it goes soon- its so iritating!!!!

On a completely unrelated topic- got a new tumble dryer delivered this morning, its all digital and lights up and stuff. Is it really sad that I'm excited about it and can't wait to do some washing? .

Hope there are some labours starting today (pref mine! ) xxxx

Tutter · 06/07/2007 08:58

another one here gunning for 7/7/7

fresh pineapple for breakfast today

have been on the loo a lot in the last day or so (sorry if tmi) - this is how it started with ds1...

Caroline1852 · 06/07/2007 09:05

I wonder if Bubble had her baby last night - are you there moriarty?

OP posts:
justbeme · 06/07/2007 09:21

Morning - what is it with haircuts, I did that 2 days ago - must be the new 2007 nesting instinct!! Also am quite keen on a 07/07/07 birth - hadnt thought about the 07:07 time as well - how cool would that be!!
Oh and Tutter can sympathise with you on the loo front - yesterday was very weird!!

twoplusone · 06/07/2007 09:25

PPS- I would be dying to use the new td too. If I buy a new brand of washing powder or fabric softner, I have to use it before old one runs out I am terrible about wanting to use new things.

Dont feel emotional now, quite calm and happy..

having lots of niggles whilst walking up to creche, and sitting having a coffee with friends this morning. STill having some now. But tbh dont know how much is in my head..lol. packed the suitcase for dd and ds for when they go the neighbours house, last night.

Just need to sort someone to come and stay with the dog. They will have to arrive at the house before we leave, or she might not let them in. She is very protective of the house!! when we are not here.

Sending lots of labour vibes to everyone.

Hope you are ok Bubble.. and things are moving nicely for you.

Dumbledorf · 06/07/2007 09:26

Hi everyone,
Melissa M - apparently getting clumsier is another sign that you are imminent!!

Waiting for my health visitor to come round to introduce herself this am and feeling like crap as have been awake since 5am, arrgghh, just want to go back to bed.

Lots of periody pain this morning and v mucusyy (sorry!!) and when i walked to the shop for some milk the baby felt SO low in my pelvis.

Was going to attempt swimming and seeing a frein this am but think will just take it easy as soon as the hv has gone.

Hope everyone else is ok

twoplusone · 06/07/2007 09:27

looks like we are planing alot of births for tommorrow..
TBH we hadnt thought of the timing 07.07 either.. well I hadnt!!

justbeme wont be long for you now hunx

twoplusone · 06/07/2007 09:28

Dumbledorf- Do you think it was a show or part of!! How exciting..

Cyee · 06/07/2007 09:54

Chooster! Mightily impressed at the lady gardening. I self waxed the other week and a) it bloomin killed and b) I know have a couple of attractive ingrown hairs which anyone 'attending' down below will doubtless think is bubonic plague or something. Just as well there's no other action planned

How exciting about everyone's backache, tightenings, bowel activity (!) etc. I feel it's all kicking off. As for me, had a great sleep, but now feel a bit dopy and grumpy... do you think it's a sign??!!

Enough merriment, I'm off for porridge and to watch last nights Greys Anatomy.

just redoing my hospital bag for cs stay and realised i'll be without a hairdryer!!! don't know if i'll be able to cope with that. theres one on the ward but apparently your better off putting your head out the window. (maybe i can tell people they don't allow visitors anymore?)
by the way things are going with bump as soon as they cut me open it's going to climb out, been like something from alien the past few days...

abgirl · 06/07/2007 11:17

tiggsy my hospital is so hot that my hair dried in minutes yesterday!

thank you all for your congratulations - am now settling down after all the excitement, greatly helped by a private room and lots of arnica. owen is a good little boy, bfing like a trooper and sleeping quite well. hoping to get home tomorrow when i will do a fuller birth story.

good luck to everyone on the tightenings stage and here's hoping for some 7/7/7 babies!

Miaou · 06/07/2007 12:01

Hello everyone. LOL at the discussions about 07/07/07 - had crossed my mind too! Still getting lots of BH contractions but somehow doubt the baby will make an appearance before tomorrow

Well the latest on my iron saga is that the consultant wants some more bloods done on Sunday to check my (sp?) setonin levels - I think that's what the m/w said - to check my iron stores - then he will see me on Tuesday to make a final decision. I guess he is trying to avoid sending me down to Inverness if not really necessary (it is a long way - over 100 miles). Still feel fine in myself too though not sleeping so well now - I can't turn over in my sleep any more so I wake up when my hips really ache and my thighs have gone numb ... not nice!

I found my washable nappies!!! Wooo hooo!! They were in a box I was convinced was full of soft toys. Dh insisted on opening it to check then gloated for ages .

I had my hair cut short a couple of weeks ago - it was in a bob (has been for about three years) and I finally got it all cut off (have been putting it off because of the cost of getting it done in a salon - but my mum (trained hairdresser) did it for me, bless her. Now she will have to visit at least once every six weeks to give it a trim!

Finally finished making the blanket for dd1 - she is really pleased with it. Yesterday I made a blackout blind for ds's bedroom (need dh to put it up now), and knitted a hat for the baby (too big though!) and today I am making a pair of little knitted shoes (aw cute!). The good thing about knitting is it makes me stay in one place and have a rest - am totally hyper atm and keep "nesting" so I'm glad I've got something to keep me in my chair!!

Good luck to all those with twinges - REALLY hope someone off this thread gives birth tomorrow!!

dewmeadow · 06/07/2007 12:19

lol at excitement over bowel movement!!

I hadnt even thought about the 7/7/7 thing - tbh didnt know today was the 6th! Since school finished (we finish at end of June here) I have had no concept of time at all, apart from "when is this baby coming?"

i love the way everyone is hoping that every little thing is a sign that the baby is coming.

Lots of labour vibes to all!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 06/07/2007 12:22

Miaou wow that's a lot of knitting. I still haven't finished the blanket I was knitting for dd who is nearly 18 months. Think I will get it out and just get round to the last edge of picking up stitches this afternoon. I'm making it up now as I lost the pattern ages ago.

Decorators are nearly finished, and the I've just erected the second lot of shelves we bought from Ikea yesterday. Did it on my own in less time than it took dh and myself to jointly put them up last night! [proud].

Just been to midwife and it was one of the ones who delivered dd last year. She will be on duty in the week I'm due. Hopefully though my normal mw will be back from holiday when I start. Only 1/5 engaged today when it was 2/5 last week, but it's no2 and fixed so like somebody (sorry can't remember who) said earlier, not necessarily a problem.

JAM that sounds wonderful having somebody to help. Is her English ok to start with? How is your German. The only German I can remember is Wo is der dom? and Um die ecke.

Jam- 1/5 engaged is 1/5 in the pelvis. (4/5 can be felt palable)
1/5 palable is 4/5 in the pelvis. It all depends on how mw describes when she tells you..

emmyb · 06/07/2007 13:51

Jennster We went to Ikea on Sun. It was just full of pregnant women I must have seen about 25 of them are we all mad??
Well today is my due day but no signs yet!! Ill keep my fingers crossed! its also my brothers bday so it would be nice if he came today but somehow I dont think he is!!

MelissaM · 06/07/2007 14:14

Dewmeadow I've been clumsy, can't speak and hopeless with numbers too all the way through, but this is definitely worse.

PPS, I'd be excited by a new td too!

Lots of us having niggles again today then! Lets hope one of us has a 7/7/7 baby!

Dumbledorf sorry you're not feeling great today. Just take it easy and have a nap if you can after hv has been.

JAM how lovely to have some help, esp with c-section booked.

Tiggsy I realised that the other day - even worse - no straighteners! I just hope lo arrives soon so I have my homebirth! At least then I will have the tools to hand, even if I don't get time to use them!

Had mw app today and lo is still moving slowly downwards (2/5ths felt to 3/5ths engaged). MW said not to worry though as it probably needs the contractions to kick off to move it down the rest of the way, but I can keep bouncing on my ball as it wont do any harm. My next app is booked for next sat (14th) at home and mw will do a sweep if nothing else happening. She's recommended acupuncture and reflexology as these can help kick-start things.

Abgirl glad things are ok for you and owen is feeding well.

Miaou glad you found your nappies. Sounds like your consultant is trying to avoid sending you all that way if it's not necessary. You have been busy with the knitting etc. I keep thinking about it but that's as far as I get!

Caroline1852 · 06/07/2007 16:02

JAM - If your mum thinks that then I am doomed. I have a baby due a week on Monday (by elective c-section), a 19 month old DD, an 11 year old, a 15 year old. My cleaner has gone back to Romania as her father is very unwell. No local family - except MIL who is unfortunately very arthritic (she is 82) but a v. good source of moral support in lieu of practical support. DP is taking 1 week off and we will review matters thereafter.
