Welcome Tiggsy - never too late to join in. Sorry no experience of extended breach as I'm a first timer too. There is a link on here somewhere to a baby spinning website which gives advice on positions to help your lo move round I think. Might be worth a look.

Kyte, glad you had a good day and all went well with mw app.

Twoplusone, hope things didn't kick off last night while dh was out.

Groveregg at you getting to see your lo again before the big event!

What is it with people telling us when we can have our babies? I don't think we have a lot of choice in it anyway - lo's will arrive when they want to! My MIL wanted my lo to be born on 22 June as it was her birthday. My mum wants it to come on the 7th as its her birthday (as does dh but for diff reasons).

Dewmeadow sorry you didn't feel good yesterday. Hope today is a better day for you. I didn't feel sick last night but did lose half my pizza after getting home (iykwim)! DH got all excited again!!!!

Good luck with the shopping trip Myfairone. I'm going to start phone hair salons soon to see if I can get my hair done this am, then see if my MIL wants to go shopping as it's her day off. I don't need anything, but want to go change a pair of shoes I bought a couple of weeks ago as they gave me odd sizes, and dh won't let me go on my own (it's a good hrs drive away).

bubble78 · 05/07/2007 09:17

well i was rudely awakened with pains at 4 am this this they came every ten mins and lasted till 6 am then it all stopped
so now it must have been baraxton hicks ( but i did not know they where that painfull )
being induced with ds means going into labour naturally is new to me so is it a sign things will start soon or no indicater at all.

sorry if tmi but there is alot of mucus this morning iykwim

Cyee · 05/07/2007 10:50

Bubble - my money's on you!!!!

Relieved to know we're all the same boat in terms of wondering when these little'uns are going to make their appearances. There are probably going to be some kind of earth tremors as we all merrily bounce along on our birth balls for the next few weeks.

I get the feeling a few July babes are holding back because of the inclement weather - my 4 NCT chums are all due over next few days and no one has even nearly kicked off yet.

Take care everyone. Happy bouncing, Clary Sage sniffing, nipple stim, raspberry leaf consumption, sex (TWOPLUSONE!!!), and any other accelerators of choice. Bring it on!

weepiglet2 · 05/07/2007 11:14

Congrats Abgirl and family: welcome Owen.

Agree with views on dh/dps. They dont seem to be able to deal with the uncertainty of labour - mine told me that a thursday would be good for him - oh and which clients did i think he should cancel (!?!)

Excuse me while I get my crystal ball out

Anybody else started feeling sick again- last few days I feel sick after eating anything (different from the ever present reflux) not as bad as the morning sickness phase but not pleasant

Jamantha · 05/07/2007 12:27

Have been too caught up in post-natal stuff (on MN and in RL) to keep up with this thread, but see that there have been some more arrivals. So HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!! Sorry I'm not able to wish you well individually, but feel that nappy and nork duty is imminent.

And for those of you still waiting, your time will come soon (even though it might not feel like it). And good luck!

MelissaM · 05/07/2007 13:59

Feeling good today and quite positive about everything. I've been into town and had my hair cut, and bought a new watch (that I so didn't need!). But is was a bargain and is very beautiful! (£33 for a dkny isn't bad is it when it was £150 originally) . I did have problems getting in and out of my car though, so that might have to be my last trip in the car until lo comes along . At least the shops are within waddling distance.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Jamantha · 05/07/2007 14:06

Three cheers for your hair cut MelissaM, I had one booked in for 4 weeks before C was due, then had to cancel it because I was in hospital with her. Consequently I look a bit of a sight on the mum & new baby pics, and it's a right pain now, falling in my face all the time until I get it cut finally this coming weekend. Ah well, can't be helped, but let it be a lesson to all you others - go get haircuts before your LOs arrive!!

bubble78 · 05/07/2007 14:19

well not had any more pains like i had in the night but still feeling very uncomfy in tummy area and got low back ache proably means nothing..

lo is still wriggling around so i know its ok

MelissaM · 05/07/2007 14:48

Jamantha, I decided last night that as lo hadn't arrived yet, I would try this am to get an app today. I'm glad I did as my hair was starting to look a state, but I hadn't book ed anything b4, not know when lo would arrive and my normal salon is near work, not home. Glad you've got an app coming up - you will feel so much better afterwards. I've even booked my next app for 6 wks time. LO is due this weekend, so I should be ok to go. Might book MIL to look after lo while I am there esp as they have chairs that massage your back while your hair is being washed - heaven!

Bubble sounds like your body is getting ready too. I've been like that on and off for about a week now and getting rid of loads of mucus since Sunday (sorry if tmi).

bubble78 · 05/07/2007 14:54

yes melissa im hoping its a sign things are starting the back ache is getting worse even got a hot water bottle on it now..

Caroline1852 · 05/07/2007 14:57

Good luck bubble.

I am thinking that an expensive haircut will do wonders for me this weekend, I have been very low maintenance these past few months.

Jamantha · 05/07/2007 15:55

That chair sounds wonderful Melissa! Can i come to your hairdressers?

twoplusone · 05/07/2007 15:59

You have been chatty today..

Last night at 10.30 I started getting lotso f tightnenings, they were irregular some 20 mins apart, some 10 others 5mins each one last ing 30-40 secs.. so started thinking things were starting.. Got in the bath at midnight to see what happened, before phoning dh, he came home whilst i was in the bath and they tightenings stopped.

Was going to come on line, (whilst he was still out ) but we had lost internet access Went to bed and they started uup again, till 3am this morning then stopped..
When I woke up I couldnt open my legs to get up of the bed as it hurt.
Had mw at 10.30 and she said sounds like things are starting.. babs is 4/5 engaged (1/5 papaple )

There was a trace of old blood in my wee sample so she thinks it could be from my cervix.. but havent had a show yet.

DH took the afternoon of work to look after ds so i could catch up on sleep..

No more tightenings though today... Lower back has been going on and off again.. (nothing new there though!!)

Bubble - goodluck , sounds like things are starting for you.

Melissa glad you feel better after your haircut.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Take care

x

JAM- Glad your date has been booked now..

MelissaM · 05/07/2007 17:07

Jamantha you can come to my hairdressers anytime - if you can get to Winchester).

Good luck Bubble and Twoplusone - sounds like things are definitely moving in the right direction.

JAM glad you have the date for your c-section.

Cakehead · 05/07/2007 18:11

Congratulations Abgirl and welcome little Owen.

Come on July ladies - we're nearly a week in! Thinking of you all and wishing you all the best...

Dumbledorf · 05/07/2007 18:26

HI everyone,
wow, it sounds like things are definitely starting to move for some people!!
Congratulations abgirl!
Cyee - yes, every single twinge I think "is this it?!" Someone posted on here few days ago that evrytime they go to the loo or need a poo they wonder if it's starting and that had me in stitches....
Tiggsy, if you google Optimum Foetal Positioning you should find stuff that might help your baby move, but I know swimming is good and bouncing on the birth ball -as well as just sitiing on it (I think it's just sitting up straight that does it really) and I've heard other people swear by reflexology too

Seems like a lot of us are moving in synch - I got my hair cut today too, had been bottling it for weeks as I didn't trust my judgment, I have been incapable of making any sensible decisions for weeks and going to the hairdressers seemed way to risky, but it was all ok and i don't think I look like a lunatic!

Also saw the midwife who predicted an 8lb baby which I was pleased about until I saw a friend's 8lb baby this afternoon...not enitrely sure how that will come out..she assured me that my baby's head will be smaller which I think is supposed to reassure me!!

No more big BH's, but lots of low down pressure iykwim and squirmy head movements!!

tiggsy · 05/07/2007 18:39

hi everyone. thanks for advice on moving baby. mw & consultant sure it's gotten itself wedged so not holding out much hope. at least with the cs it fits in with everyones plans... dp would've been back at work if late and most of my family go in holiday beginning of august so been nagged at for weeks to get things going!

Myfairone · 05/07/2007 18:42

We are all getting there arnt we! And all so prepared too it seems!

I went on my shopping trip today and what a lovely day I had. Had my new hair cut and a new top on (only Primark £8!) but had so many comments about how nice I looked that I felt great!

DH took to calling me every hour asking why I was still out!!! He is so worried I'm going to go into labour and be out somewhere...I had my MUm with me so wasn't too worried.

Glad to hear you are all well and Twoplusone, that sounds like your body getting very very ready!!!

have a great evening all and a peaceful nights sleep if you can.

dewmeadow · 05/07/2007 19:38

things are definitely hot on our thread!!

Everybodys bodies seem to be gearing up! Ive been bouncing on my ball today - tried to do it while watching Wimbledon but it made me feel sick!!

Does your body producing more mucus at the end a sign that the end is nigh?? (sorry - tmi type question)

derlor · 05/07/2007 19:47

Hi ladies in waiting!!,
just popping my head in from the June thread to say GOOD LUCK.
My new wee DD is almost 4 weeks old now and it seems like no time since i was where you all are.
So, hang in there IT WILL HAPPEN.....soon x

JennsterSlugSlayer · 05/07/2007 21:04

Got my hair cut this morning and then spent the afternoon in Ikea. Now Ikea is enough to make anybody go into labour! Very tired though as I didn't get my afternoon nap.

twoplusone · 05/07/2007 22:11

Thanks Derlor.

Dewmeadow- I have had an increase in discharge over the last few weeks. It is normal.

Glad to here some of you have been treating yourselves to the hairdressers, and shopping.. . i need a haircut but I hate going to the hairdressers, but will have to venture there soon.
