Justbeme - You can be next if you like

Berrysmum - Congratulations!!! Woohoooo! Love the name...Hope all is well and congrats on your short (ish) labour and almost drug free!

Twoplusone - Never a dull moment huh!? I am so glad that he is home and where you can see him. I am sure that he is a tough little soldier and will be fine. Hope you feel okay today.

Hi Nadine - Welcome to the bunch!

Typhoonsmum - I am sure that your DD was just having an off morning. It sounds like she has friends to play with but chooses not to spread her wings as far as to make tons of friends. She will grow up with some very close and deep friendships rather than one of these that calls 'everyone' their friend! Try not to worry about her.

Kyte- Can you put my name down on that list please? I want one of those labours!!!

Well you will all be pleased to hear that I feel alive again today! I no longer feel down in the dumps and even though I woke at 3am (and no didnt go back to sleep) I have a mission today to tidy my house and keep myself busy. I have a list I want to get through.

Sorry for being so moaney yesterday (damn hormones!)...I am sure all the tears did me good though.

Tons of BH today and I am sure that the little one's head is about to pop out. Feels so heavy today!

Big hugs to all.

Congrats Berrysmum and welcome to Evie. (Good name by the way - it's on our shortlist!)

Hello all. Not sure what I have been doing this morning but only just got round to turning the pc on. Had a rough night with backache and period type pains, but no contractions . DH thought things were starting so didn't sleep well but then managed to sleep an hour past the alarm! (I was in the spare room so have an excuse for not hearing it). So now he's decided to work from home, and I've got to be quiet as he has loads of conference calls.

Twoplusone - hope ds is ok. Also hope the builders manage to sort the leak out quickly.

Typhoonsmum, I am sure things will work out with dd. Worth mentioning at the school parents evening though.

Dewmeadow - haven't heard of chestnut oil. Anything is worth a try though. Glad you had a lovely weekend with dh and no children.

Kyte, I'll join you for one of those births too.

Hi Nadine. Welcome to the mad house!

Myfairone, glad you are feeling better today.

Justbeme, hope your lo arrives soon.

Princess, I had to take my wedding ring of weeks ago. I didn't have any stretchmarks either until a couple of weeks ago (37 wks). Now I seem to getting new ones almost every day

Groveregg sorry to hear about your bad weekend. Hope you get over your cold soon and that ds is ok.

Beyonceen · 02/07/2007 12:22

sorry, hugs to all, can't keep up with all the individual goings on right now. Bit exciting for us this weekend in a perfect end to the shittiest week so far... After ds fell and broke his arm on thursday, i started to get really dizzy all weekend, even when lying down! Called the hosp who wanted me in for obs and it's the hosp where they are holding the man who drove into terminal one at Glasgow airport. Wasn't too worried as the maternity unit is separate from the main hosp. Unbelieveably though, whilst waiting to be seen, the fire alarm went off and the midwives ran round telling us to keep away from the windows and shutting us all in rooms!! Apparently there was a suspicious device found in the car park and the royal engineers were called in to detonate the explosives!! Spent 6 hours in labour ward (had the obs done meantime and told it's just a huge baby trying to cut off my blood supply (oh, that's ok then!) and we were finally escorted off the premises via an underground tunnel! Mad mad mad. Luckily my dh was with me. Can there be any more drama for me and why oh why has none of this sent me into early labour? Answers on a postcard.

Beyonceen · 02/07/2007 12:23

Oh, def congrats Berrysmum!!! Brilliant name. also on our shortlist!

Tutter · 02/07/2007 12:41

latest from me: 37+1 today. baby still mahoosive by all accounts. fortnightly scans. he's on the 97th centile with a head that alreadyu measures >41 weeks (gulp)

they seem not to be concerned about this. i am , a bit

friend had her twins yday so am now jealous and am hoping i have days, rather than weeks to go

hope all are well x

Beyonceen · 02/07/2007 12:42

I so feel a video coming on. Dd and ds have emptied the toy box and are "sailing off to sea". Am I happy that they are playing nicely or outraged at EVERY toy lying on the floor.? raining again! where is the summer? would love the wee ones to get some fresh air. Everything feels better in the sun doesn't it?

Beyonceen · 02/07/2007 12:44

Tutter - we are due the same day and both have big babes!! Any twinges? I've got some kid on contractions - lots of bowel move (sorry) and dizzy (ier thn normal)x

Tutter · 02/07/2007 12:46

no, no twinges yet

have an "odd" tummy, but so does ds1, so may be completely unrelated to pregnancy (although his labour started with baaaad diarrhoea)

pulapula · 02/07/2007 13:06

Hello all,

Although I have been out of hospital since Friday afternoon, this is the first time I've made it upstairs to the computer- DH and DD are at Tumbletots and LO is asleep.

Unfortunately, he doesn't sleep so well at night, so we are just about surviving on 3 hours sleep per night!

I've added some photos to my profile.

For anyone about to have a planned section, I found the whole experience wonderful (compared to my first delivery) and I was on a real high on the first day, although on day 2 the pain relief had worn off and I did feel more tender. My wound is sore now and again, and I need to keep an eye on one stitch which keeps oozing, but otherwise, no problems. My lack of bruising has been commented on a lot, and I put it down to the Arnica I took after the op, which I got from Holland and Barratt. Apparently it helps with bruising from a natural delivery too, so worth getting some in?

Feeding is going well- just got through the very sore nipples stage and coming out the other side. Can recommend lansinoh lanolin- if you find you have sore nipples mention it to your midwife in hospital or at home, as they seem to have loads of free samples to give out...saves spending a tenner on it.

Must go and make my lunch. Will catch up on all your news later! Bye!

nadinetd · 02/07/2007 13:49

thanks for being so kind and welcoming, i keep thinking i might not know when i am in labour but friends keep saying i will def know. fingers crossed. just making most of the quiet time now and chilling out x good luck 2 u all x

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 14:20

pulapula- Photos are great..

I am so I want my lo.. Ben is gorgeous, as is his big sister.

Well we seem to have hthe rain from the UK.. on and off all day but when it comes it is torrential.
Thankfully I couldnt find my keys as I was going to take a walk to the school to get ds out of the ouse, and meet dd.. but the heavens have just opened up again.. we would have been like drowned rats.. Poor dd though will be like a drowned rat when she comes in.. bless her.xx

cornishpixie · 02/07/2007 14:28

Hi everyone, lots of congrats to all new babes!!
I've just had another scan to confirm position - head is down & ready to go! WOO HOO!! Am due in 8 days and already LO is weighing 7lb 6oz how scary is that?! All very well but how am I gonna get him/her out?!?! (bring on the drugs?? )

Love & good luck to all those also experiencing these bloody aches and pains...... xx

Flamesparrow · 02/07/2007 14:53

Still calling for Dewmeadow to have a quick look into Feb 06 - we're all excited for her and wanting an update!!!

(can someone point her our way please )

Myfairone · 02/07/2007 16:17

Boo to stretchmarks. I seemed to be doing alright but think I may be acquiring some...Keep slappling the oil on ladies!

Beyonceen - OMG! What excitement you have had! Glad that you are okay though.

Really think I am going to need half an hour to get my rings off...probably should have done it yesterday! May have to sit with my hands in the freezer for a while!

Pulapula - Congratulations and well done for managing to get onto the computer at all! Sorry that the nights are hard but glad to hear the feeding is going well. Off to look at your pics now. Take care and pop in when you can.

Nadine - I am sure that we will know!

Cornishpixie - Thats what drugs are for, but who knows you may be able to do it on 2 paracetamols like Jamantha!

Well I think my bump has dropped. All of a sudden today I don't seem to be able to walk without lifting my legs out to the side first! Its some kind of 'knees up mother brown' effort to get anywhere. My fanny fandango feels so heavy and the baby has been shuffling about so much today I thought it was warming up for a game of football....also have backache....I am sure I am too early to start thinking about labour (36) but so excited that things are starting to feel different!

Big hugs to all and hope you are all well.
Twoplusone - Glad that little man sounds better.

Trimum2 · 02/07/2007 16:23

Hi all. Yep justbeme... thats also why I joined the July thread even through my date was end of June. Knew that it would end up being July!

Was almost induced the last time so am not too surprised to find myself going over again. I am trying really hard not to get too frustrated but I can feel the clock ticking now and I really don't want to be induced. Am trying acupuncture but fainted during session today! I don't mind needles... I think it must have just been the pressure of the baby on my blood supply (the bed was raised to I was almost sitting so wasn't flat on my back). Think I might give reflexology a try next!

Trimum - So sorry to hear about your fainting experience with the acupuncture! I hope that the reflexology session is better!

Pulapula - He is adorable! What a cutie! You must be so proud. Well done

Firststar - Are you on maternity leave now?

Have a great night all!

Anyone up for giving a bit of advice?

I've been having vile pins and needles all through pregnancy, but they've upped the ante the last three days or so. I can barely grip anything properly before they rush into my hands and arms, and I seem to get them cyclicly in my arms and legs.

Think I ought to contact ADU tomorrow or just put it down to being 37+3?

Thanks in advance

Agnes

Myfairone · 02/07/2007 22:07

Agnes, it can't hurt to contact someone and ask. If they tell you to put it down to late pregnancy then fine but they may be able to offer you some further advice.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I am sure its really uncomfortable for you.

JAM - I had a day like that yesterday, I am sure its just a hormone pregnancy related event. Mine lasted for a while and then today it lifted and I feel much more positive again. I hope you feel better tomorrow...

Well, I had some weird period type pains tonight and tons of BH. After a long shower they went so feel its now safe to sleep! yeah right, whats that!!!!

Nite all.
