On a brighter note about the weather, at least its not madly hot which was threatened so we've not all sitting here with out current complaints PLUS feeling unbearably hot, sweaty and uncomfortable. Think about how swollen we could be... Just trying to be cheery!

(sorry- that doesn't help with anyones washing. I live in a flat so don't have the luxury of hanging stuff out so it all goes in the tumble dryer or on airers- therefore weather doesn't really affect me in that way!)

Hows everyone feeling?
X

Trimum2 · 01/07/2007 17:00

Just popped on to say hello to you all. Gone overdue now. But was +10 the last time, so not a big shock. Just a bit frustrating cos i keep getting constant phone calls and texts asking "any news?" And have nothing to report!

am going to give acupuncture / reflexology a shot tomorrow maybe... see if that can get things going. Unlike 2+1, we can seem to get the "natural" way going. Although, probably doesn't help having my mum staying with us at the moment(!) Not the best backdrop for trying to have any action

Am having lots of aches and the odd sharp pain which gets me all excited but then comes to nothing! I think I need to learn a bit of patience!!!!

dewmeadow · 01/07/2007 17:18

flip me but we're chatty!! Havent been on all weekend as away with DH and there's Soooooooooooooo much to read.

I am so uncomfortable and so HUGE - midwife said it looks like an 8lb baby NOW so if it grows for another 3 weeks, what size will it be then?!! AAHhh!! And DS was 10lb 2.

After 2 days of cramping and tightening, sort of subsided but feels good that my body is getting ready

Catch up later

twoplusone · 01/07/2007 19:16

Dewmeadow- hope you had a good weekend away and enjoyed it..

Myfairone- hope you are feeling better soon, Men just dont get it do they.

I am using my tunmble dryer to dry the clothes if I cant get them outside.. We havent had all the rain over here.. just bits..

I have forgotten what people have posted... sorry, .

As pps has said
OUR BABIES ARE DUE THIS MONTH.. YEAH YEAH YEAH

Thank you to those who have popped in to wish us luck .....

Myfairone · 01/07/2007 19:26

Afternoon didnt get much better I'm afraid, just want this day to end already!

I decided to watch the 'Diana' concert on TV (as DH went to bed because he's tired....apparently if I was at work I would know how he feels...I have only been on maternity leave for one week FFS!!!!)
Anyway, kept crying at the diana concert so switched it off.

Asked DH (when he got up) if he fancied some Nando's (I had a taste for it) but they managed to F**k up the order so that was a disaster too..

I'm sorry I have been so moaney today. Going to go and try and to smile at myself in the mirror and see if it can bring on some happy thoughts.

Think I need some sleep and I will be fine tomorrow.

Nite nite all. Big hugs to all that feel down and big smiles to those that don't!

Miaou · 01/07/2007 19:35

Sorry to all you who are feeling rough/fed up! We have had rain here today - first proper rain in weeks (in fact the first time it has rained all day since we moved here 1 month ago!) - so at least I can empathise! We had an "indoor day" today and got loads of jobs done - shelves built, the last of the books and clothes unpacked, and generally a little more organised. I am pretty tired now though. And I still can't find my newborn washable nappies - where the hell did I pack them?!?!? (answers on a postcard gratefully received!)

Had a really strong BH contraction on Friday night and it suddenly occurred to me it wasn't the first - just not been paying enough attention . Pretty sure the head isn't engaged at all but won't surprise me if that doesn't happen until I go into labour.

Hope we all have a better week next week

Groveregg · 01/07/2007 20:08

Wow you guys have all been chatty over the weekend! Having trouble keeping up...

Congratulations to cakehead and to kittenbaby!

Hope everyone is doing well considering... I have got minimal energy today after a weekend of getting ds to emergency doctors because of breathing problems and then catching his cold. Why is there always something?!

justbeme · 01/07/2007 20:19

Evening!! See I did tell you that I would end up having a July baby (EDD 29/6!)
Havent really had many twinges or anything - but don't forget- Im one of the 1st in the Q!!

berrysmum · 01/07/2007 21:48

Hello all!
Just wanted to let you know that Evie made an early appearance on Wed 27th! Waters broke at 4pm and she popped out at 10.04pm, so not too long really. Escaped with just pethadine and a couple of stitches this time so quite pleased with that. Come on the rest of you; I will be waiting on the post natal thread for you all. Will need to talk about lack of sleep, etc.....

Hi everyone, thought I'd drop in after a long absence - hope that's ok.Congrats. to all who have had their bouncing babes already. I'm due on thurs. and having loads of warm ups - v. frustrating as a couple of times they've been v.v. like the real thing. Wonder if that's 4th babies for you. Had a major return to morning sickness but can't wait now for baby to come. My little ones are getting excited too. Hope everyone is keeping well - I suppose one advantage of this dreadful weather is that at least we're not overheating too much!

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 08:38

Congratulations berrysmuma dn kittenbaby on the birth of your little Girls

the workmen are here seeing to my leak.. they now think it is the downstairs bathroom, so they are knowcking the wall down.. the painters have been booked for Friday morning to paint the walls...
DH took ds to creche this morning, got a phone call from DH to say that ds had fell and cracked his head, on his way in but still wanted to go in to school.. so the creche have put an ice pack on and are going to keep an eye on him.. DH has given them instructions to phone him if he needs to come home.. Poor little mite..
Just going to phone them now and see how he is..

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 08:45

Just spoken to the creche and dh has been called to take him to the medical centre as a big lump has appeared...
I want to go up there but cant because of the workmen.. everything always happens at once..

Typical bloody monday morning..

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 09:09

DS is now at home.. with a lovely bruise on his head.. but thankfully he is ok apart fromt hat. He is on the sofa watching TV with some milk and his blanket.. He will probably have a sleep as he has been up since 5.15 this morning.

Bless him.

Miaou · 02/07/2007 09:12

Congratulations berrysmum!!

Helloooo cupcakes! My third was very much like that - I was in fact admitted four times before I went into labour proper (I lived so far from the hospital that we had to set off as soon as I had the first twinge - contractions would continue for about an hour then tail off ) - very frustrating! Particularly for my dds - in the end we shipped them off to my parents for the week until the baby actually arrived . Hope it won't be long for you!

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 09:12

Wonder whether abgirl has manged her VBAC all has been quiet from her since Friday.

where is everyone today.. you cant all of decided to have had your babies today....

2+1 sits in a corner waiting for some friends to join her...

nadinetd · 02/07/2007 09:13

Miaou · 02/07/2007 09:19

Welcome nadinetd

Twoplusone - hiya ! I am taking the dds off to summer activities in a mo (they have finished school for the summer) and ds swimming - these next couple of weeks will be really busy I think whilst I try to compensate for the fact that once the baby arrives no-one will be going anywhere

Hope your ds is ok!

twoplusone · 02/07/2007 09:30

Helloooo ..

Miaou.. you really are a busy lady, I dont know where you get your energy from.. is it a case of just have to get on with it.. Its a pity they cant give your dh his license back a few weeks early.. have fun.

Welcome Nadine

typhoonsmum · 02/07/2007 09:36

Funny how a comment by a 4 year old can upset you for the day.

DD was eating her breakfast when she said she didn't want to go to school as no-one played with her and she had no friends. In school I didn't have a great number of friends and still don't. I prefer to just get on with everyone and do my own thing but during school it was lonely and I didn't want DD to do the same.

I spoke to her teacher when I dropped her off hoping she'd say that DD was talking rubbish and had loads of friends but she agreed with her. She said that she is more of a loner and doesn't had a set group of friends. She isn't concerned tho as she does play with the children. There are others in the class who don't play at all.
She told me that she is a bright child and has been in nursery for nearly 2 years now and some of the other children are only just 3 where DD is nearly 5. She needs to be stimulated more and is ready to go into full time school.
I know that is a compliment really. Basically she is saying that DD is bored in school and needs to be doing more things with children her own age. She starts full time school in September but I hate the thought of her going to school and sitting on her own doing her letters and numbers (which she loves doing)
She reminds me of me. I loved school work in Primary School and would do it for fun but didn't have many friends. I wanted her to be more like DP. He is intellegent AND popular.

Miaou · 02/07/2007 09:42

Aw typhoonsmum, I really have to go in a mo but just wanted to offer my sympathy. Dd1 was/is like that (she is 10 now) - very bright and tended/tends to be a loner. You may find that once in school she pals up with other children who are at her level (this is what dd did) and finds her "niche" a bit more.

Is it possible for you to have a word with her teacher for next year and explain your concerns? I have done this with dd with some success (however the Scottish system is a lot more flexible) and the teachers have sat her with suitable children and made sure she was busy and stimulated in the classroom.

Do they have a "buddy" system in your school (where they pair up new/younger children with older, more confident ones) so that they aren't alone at playtime? Worth asking about particularly for next year. HTH.

typhoonsmum · 02/07/2007 09:48

Thanks Miaou. I'm hoping that she will settle when she is in full time school. It just upset me this morning. More than i thought it would. (Maybe hormones are to blame a bit)

Might ask the teacher if she can sit with other children "at her level" (words of her nursery teacher)

Have heard of the buddy system from DSD1 and DSD2 but not from DD school. Might ask abotu that too. There is a parents evening soon.

dewmeadow · 02/07/2007 10:26

hi everyone!! congrats to all new babies!!

Kyte - I want one of those labours too!! HAving LOADS of BH which I never had before with previous 2 and cramps back and front on and off, so I hope my body is getting ready for a really quick, painless (!!!!) natural labour.

A friend told me that if you put chestnut oil into a hot bath it can help prepare your cervix, but haent been able to find any yet. Anyone else hear of that one?

DH and I went off for a weekend with no kiddies to a lovely hotel, and it was just fantastic! My mum looked after DD and DS and it'll be a LOOONNNNNG time before we'll be able to leave 3, so glad we did it. It was lovely to be away just as a couple, even if everyone did keep staring in amazement at my gi-normous bump!! Feel quite loved up again!

dewmeadow · 02/07/2007 10:33

Typhoon - I dont think children really make friends until they start big school. I think your DD will make her own wee friends in her time. My DD is 3 and was parttime this year, and has no special friend, but at that age they observe a lot rather than mixing properly. In the primary school I work in, we were observing last week that the P1's (4-5yr old here) have really only matured in the last term to playing properly and forming wee groups, especially the quieter ones.

Sorry to waffle on - just trying to say dont worry too much
