The thing about nesting is that do it too soon, and you have to do it all again closer to the time (as I have) and now I can't be arsed either....

fuck it.

Where's this MW???

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 12:57

Of course they'll be a PN thread! How else are we going to pass the tedious first few weeks when all bubs wants to do is feed feed feed!! We will have new moans then- sore norks, leaking milk, no sleep etc. Can't wait!!

Still can't farking walk! Luckily dp is here otherwise I'd never be able to get upstairs to put dd down for her nap!

Yes to slimming threads! I am huge - and foxy, I poke my tongue out at you, the photo doesn't show a size 18 arse now does it, and that was pre-PG lol!

I have checked out Cannons clubs, they have creches for £3.50 per hour as well! Could be useful...

JBM nesting (as far as I am aware!) is having a somewhat irrational desire to clean and tidy and get everything ready for the baby. Not that I have ever understood it because I can't see the baby coming home from the hospital and exclaiming 'Oh mummy, I simply hate your colour scheme'

justbeme · 08/06/2007 12:58

Thanks girls - So im with Ria then!!
TA have also just checked out yr profile - when did you put the photos on?? You look stunning and make me feel very old!!

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 13:01

How else are we going to pass the tedious first weeks Holly? Well, I'm planning to spend a large proportion of it screaming at my other children, at the top of my voice with all the windows open cos its going to be stinky hot.

Oh what have I done???

I saw a thread about a batch of faulty pregnancy tests. Perhaps I had one of those and got the wrong result???!!

trendaverter · 08/06/2007 13:02

I put the pics up a couple of days ago I think... I'm not all that I promise you, esp not since I discovered cake and snickers ice cream and ballooned to a size 20, oops

Perhaps I should find a less flattering photo to put me in a more accurate light!

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 13:03

Yes, like the one Holly has on hers! That would make me feel better! LOL

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 08/06/2007 13:03

Oh I hope we do keep a PN thread going!
I'm gonna need all the help / advice I can get!

JBM - I haven't actually left my house since Wed afternoon - am going to venture out this afternoon tho - before I get cabin fever.

Pah! Nesting??? I hate cleaning so have booked cleaners to come in for a 4 hour cleaning session a week today, and every friday for 6 weeks after! I am such a lazy cow! But I think I'm more excited about that than actually having a baby!!!!! (AIBU? - If I am I don't give a sh*t!!)

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 13:06

and every Friday after that ... once you have a cleaner there's just no going back!

trendaverter · 08/06/2007 13:08

Am I the only weird person that actually gets a big kick out of cleaning?

Oh no, there's Ria

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 13:10

TA join the odd squad! Cleaning is for the weak!!

Do you think I'm ugly or something foxy? I may have a lot of hair, but I'm beautiful underneath!

OP posts:
justbeme · 08/06/2007 13:12

Im feeling better by the minute!! LOL

Now....do I have the energy to drive to St Albans for a shopping session? Ive not been there on my own for about 1year and its out of my comfort zone...mm not sure.

trendaverter · 08/06/2007 13:12

Holly just ignore her, it's what's inside that counts!!

I think you look beautiful...but might I recommend a product called 'Veet'?

Before you buy some however can you please let me know so I can buy some shares in the company?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 08/06/2007 13:20

TA - I would rather gnaw my own arm off than clean the house!!

trendaverter · 08/06/2007 13:26

PMSL
Ok then I am odd
I just feel very lazy if I don't! I daresay I will care considerably less after LO decides to make an appearance...eventually...whenever that may be

My god I am surprised people don't hate me, I am a stepford wife

It just dawned on me that yesterday I baked cookies, make DH pack lunch, clean bathroom, hoover etc etc etc then make him salmon for dinner and bread and butter pudding for dessert

My fall from grace following birth is going to be spectacular!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 08/06/2007 13:49

TA - Just one request then for the sake of womankind!
If your LO is a boy - teach him how to clean / tidy up etc up to your standards!
My MIL all but wiped my DH's arse for him up until he was 26 (when we met) and he has NO CLUE how to clean or put his own stuff away!

I have OCD levels of tidyness - hate mess and clutter so I'll always put stuff away when finished and if make a mess clear it away instantly - mainly due to my hate for 'big cleaning sessions' I'm a do it as I go kind of girl - but DH ........... he drives me mad!

When he moved in with me he thought I was strange because I went mad when I caught him pissing in the shower (which was over the bath) - he thought as he was in running water it was ok? Also showers are self cleaning - because you are in them with soap etc!!
Also - he thought it was ok to leave shit skids in the toilet as long as they were below the water line?

I could go on and on!!!

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 13:49

LOL! Don't try to do anything more than clean your teeth for 6 weeks following the birth!

MW's been, lovely lady actually. All fine, baby down, not engaged but wouldn't expect her to until labour. Got my HB bag... upgraded from a bin liner to a laundry bag.

Sorry, Holly, don't take it personally. Am sure DP loves running his fingers through your hair!

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 13:52

PMSL at your DP DKMA! My MIL would still wipe DPs arse if he'd let her (which he probably would ...!).

Totally agree with you about training them! My boys can already sort their laundry and make their beds, remember to put the loo seat down, and turn lights off (if they can reach them that is!). Bless, they are 5 and 4!

doggus · 08/06/2007 13:56

Hi all, just checking in quickly to say a huge congrats to everyone who has given birth, am still catching up so can't name check you all!

I am finally back on the south coast and have my own computer so I will be popping in from now on. Trouble is, as we have been away for six weeks, I haven't done any of the pre-baby tasks like cleaning cupboards, we haven't even got a pushchair so I am a bit up the wall.

Lo is fine, kicking furiously, though the obst says my back is now so bad they may induce in 2 weeks (due in 3).

I've missed you all! I am so glad there's going to be a PN thread, I was worried! xx

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 13:56

PMSL !! This'll be us when bubs are born!

Glad mw was ok foxy and apology accepted!

I always cook for dp and make him a fried breakfast every saturday! I am a bit stepfordish, but not with the cleaning! I do enough to get by!! He was shocked when I told him he would be cooking for a couple of weeks after baby is born!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 08/06/2007 14:01

My MIL taught him NOTHING....OMG I had to teach DH how to do simple things. Like...well I know what you mean about skid marks. Not just below the water line but on the effing SEAT

In the early days of our relationship we had a lot of very 'sensitive' conversations, like 'I love you BUT can you please aim your starfish a little more accurately? I know the hole in the toilet seat is miniscule but other people do manage'

I hope he doesn't do a search for me on here...

But on a positive note, I have taught him now, and he is now as anally clean as me (no pun intended )

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 14:02

Hi doggus, glad to see you back! Hope you are feeling ok. It's completely understandable you haven't got anything organised, you've had other things on your mind. If you ever need a cup of tea and a chat there is always JL cafe and I'm always around for shopping trips!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 08/06/2007 14:08

Good to see you back Doggus! You've been missed!

Starfish TA?! ROFL!!!

trendaverter · 08/06/2007 14:14

Yes...starfish....
Thankfully now all of these little 'quirks' have been resolved and he is a model husband

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 14:15

Write a book TA! I'd buy it!
