fill me in what is going on? who is leaking what??

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:08

Have you got radar or something Lulu?!!!

OP posts:
lulumama · 02/06/2007 19:10

my special siren goes off at times like this!

forewaters - tend to go in a massive gush, and keep leaking

hindwater - tend to be a bit of a leak, possibly carry on , but they do reseal and replenish

if your forewaters have gone, NICE guidleines recommend a maximum of 96 hours before induction of labour

not the same for hindwaters

best to be checked if you are in doubt

also, any fever or feeling unwell needs checking immediately

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:10

You only need to scoot down a few posts....domesticgrumpiness

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:11

LOL!!

NEEE NAAWW!! What's that noise? It's Lulu's labour radar!

lulumama · 02/06/2007 19:13

it is the sound of a new born baby crying !LOL!

wahhhh, wahhhh, wahhhh !

DG

if it was a big gush, then it might be your waters......best to phone labour ward and ask for advice, if you are having a hospital birth or CM if having a homebirth...

just in case things kick off

no sex, just in case, but nipple stim fine, also walking up the stairs sideways, and get on the birth ball

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:13

You might want to keep an eye on us over the next few days....there have been twinges, pains, false labours, is it or isn't it going on for a few days now....but no-one has delivered the goods yet (literally)

While you're here Lulu....I've been getting a really bad cramp up the RH side of my bump that is pretty constant, but is much worse when I'm having a tightening...kept waking me up last night about every hour, but it's not getting worse and the tightenings aren't getting more frequent. I'm getting bloody fed up with it all too! Feels like a strained muscle or a stitch. any ideas

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:17

Oooo, I've had that daisy, I thought it was just where my baby had been kicking the crap out of my muscles!

Sorry if TMI, but can someone link to the thread about examining your own cervix? I tried the other day, but couldn't reach. Was gonna give it another go. Not really sure what I'm feeling for though! Would ask dp to have a feel, but he's a squeamish wimp and would prob faint!

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:20

What date is that lulu? I am due on the 19th, but my dd was 12 days late, so will prob be pg for a while longer!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:20

LOL holly...it probably is. Lilkel had similar and the doc at the hospital said SPD, but I've not had any other SPD symptoms at all.

DG...looks like this is it for you then....good luck and keep us posted for as long as you can, we're mad for live birth threads on here!!

OP posts:
lulumama · 02/06/2007 19:31

21st !

ooooh..we might have a baby from DG soon!

lulumama · 02/06/2007 19:32

daisy..spd is usually lower, round your fanjo and groin area

might simply be a muscle strain or a tenderness from baby kicking you in one place

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:35

I'm all excited now everything is starting to happen for everyone! Every time I have a twinge I think "OOoooo, is this it?"! Can't wait til it all kicks off, but shitting myself as well obv! I think the homebirth kit delivery on thurs made it all seem real, although I don't think I should have had such a thorough look in it!

I really hope you "pop" soon on your own daisy!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:37

No Lulu...you're supposed to say its uterine contractions and I'll have my baby by morning

Been having false labour for over a week now and its doing my head in ever so slightly. Booked in for a section on Tuesday, but was hoping to go before then by myself....

anyway, quoting you from the other day re self examination for Holly...hope you don't mind!

Holly....

i'll try to find it, all you really need to do is lay down with a pillow under your bum, clean hand, insert finger GENTLY and feel your cervix...it should feel like a pursed mouth if it is ripening....go gently and make sure your nails are not ragged! also, it is your body and your cervix and you are allowed to touch it!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:37

I might have a baby on your birthday lulu! Am having a HB too, so you may get a live birth thread as a special birthday gift!
Shall I set up the webcam ready??

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:39

Ok, I'll try and have a feel later! Would do it now, but everyone is in my bedroom prepping the walls for the paper! I don't think they'd appreciate it if I went in there and started rummaging around!!

lulumama · 02/06/2007 19:45

sorry daisy, you;ll have a baby by morning !! y

that would be lovely ! if you can arrange a birth at a reasonable time on the 21st, i;d be most grateful !

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 02/06/2007 19:48

Ooooh Holly, a web cam is a great idea.....bet you wouldn't dare!

Been eating RL tablets like sweeties, had som EPO, drunk about a litres of innocent pineapple, mango and orange smoothie today (2 more litres in the fridge) and DH will be putting out tonight......or I'll divorce him!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:52

Lol daisy! I gave in and did it this morning!! Seems to have set off the BHs a treat! Also I have just eaten a mango, not because of the prostaglandins, but because they are yummy! I'm thinking doing it twice a day is a good idea, after all the more spunk the riper the cervix!!! Sorry I am vile!

hollyandalice · 02/06/2007 19:53

I might do a webcam! I'll be in the pool, so you wouldn't see anything!

bumperlicious · 02/06/2007 19:54

I hate to break it to you - but I don't think pineapple juice has the same affect as fresh pineapple. Just read somewhere that canning and juicing takes out whatever it is that can bring on labour.

Pineapple for my dessert tonight! Just had very yummy mussels and potato wedges for my tea.

Ohh, it's getting exciting though not sure I can take all this suspense!
