Awwww Derlor. for you. Hope u have gd night's rest. Good luck at m/w tomorrow.

trendaverter · 06/06/2007 21:39

I am off to bed. Just had harsh words with dh so I suspect no prostaglandins for me tonight, oral or otherwise.

Derlor I am really sorry to hear about your crappy night but as you say, at least you are both ok.

See y'all tomorrow girls

BrownSuga · 06/06/2007 21:52

evening all, i have indeed had the sugar cube, just home tues from hospital and caught up today.

waters broke thurs night, but no contractions, went for check on fri morning and told to come in sat morning for induction. we walked down to the seafront fri nite for italian and started mild contractions which kicked off seriosly about 4am sat. spent the night walking arouns the house and on tens. went to hosp 9am, 3cm. At 2pm only 4cm, so put on drip and epidural by 4pm. He popped out at 23.50 after about 40mins pushing.

he is Elijah Simon and was 7lb 6oz. Has mummy's kiwi nose and daddy's chin and superlong feetand toes.

Hadto stay in hosp till tues nite due to raised temp and feeding problems. he has slight jaundice but escaped another nite in under the lamps, thank goodness.

he's still not feeding well so expressing for him til he gets the hang of it.

congrats to all others who've had their little ones and hope all are well

annobal · 06/06/2007 22:10

HUGE congratulations to BrownSuga and KittyKitt. Love the names!

Hope everyone is okay and has a very restful (or contraction-full) night! xxx

riabutterflew · 06/06/2007 22:34

Congratulations brownsuga and a big welcome to Elijah (lovely name BTW, not relevant but my sister is a childminder in NZ and one of her boys has that name, not heard it used much here. I liked it too, but DH set on his choice.) Hope it is nice to be home and getting to know each other.

derlor. Hope you are resting up and feeling better tomorrow. Can't think of anything cheering to say, but hang on in there.

Maybe we should all go and dance naked in the garden under whatever moon there is and shout arse!

I have only just got my boys to sleep (late naps are such a pain but he must have been tired bless him). One of the neighbours decided to start hammering in the garden at 9pm, then someone rang at 9.15, which I didn't answer as it just hypes the boys up if they are awake, and they didn't leave a message and I don't know the number. I really HATE telephones.

riabutterflew · 06/06/2007 22:40

Has everyone gone to bed?

Night night all. Wish I had wine... or chocolate...

Here's to a better day tomorrow with lots of babies in it.

justbeme · 06/06/2007 22:48

hollyandalice · 06/06/2007 23:39

Congrats brownsuga!! Glad everything went smoothly and you and Elijah are well! Very cute pic, he is lovely!! x

Derlor, hope you are getting some rest. You poor thing having to go through that with no reward. I'm sure it'll happen any day, fingers crossed xxx

Goodnight everyone x

trendaverter · 07/06/2007 07:46

Congratulations Brownsuga!

Lovely name, was one of the ones I shortlisted as well but DH said no.

Glad you are both well!

trace2 · 07/06/2007 08:13

congrats Brownsuga great pics and what a loverly name how exciting every things happing now

foxybrown · 07/06/2007 08:56

Congratulations to you BrownSuga! Love the name too!

Hope everyone else is OK this morning, no babies effortlessly in the night I trust?

Right, time for a shower and get DD to nursery. Then its off shopping - Debenhams have an instore Clarins promotion on - I'm off to stock up on Beauty Flash Balm for after this little one is born! Vain? Moi??

annobal · 07/06/2007 09:02

LOL Foxy. Am also off to Debenhams this morning...

hollyandalice · 07/06/2007 09:09

No babies here ! Prob a good thing coz the boiler's packed up again ! Luckily someone is coming out before 1pm to look at it. Let's hope I don't go into labour before then!

Have fun at Debs foxy and annobal!!

Diplidophus · 07/06/2007 09:10

I haven't been here for a while but thought I'd drop inand say hello again. I'm due at the end of the months and very jealous of those who already have their lo's. Congratualtions to all!

I'm still at work with another week to go so feeling a tad sorry for myslef. Trying desperately to get everything I need to get done whilst having no motivation to anything!

Oh well. My brain has turned to mush so I'm not really much use here anyway!

BadZelda · 07/06/2007 09:32

Good morning everyone. Big congrats to BrownSuga on the sugarlump and to Kittykit - lovely to see babies coming thick and fast now.

Woke up this morning with a bit of a problem - I seem to have done something to the muscle in my left buttock / hip so I can't walk / put weight on that leg. Any ideas? Think swimming might help? Ella had the idea of getting some heeled shoes, which seem to help a bit - i.e. I can actually walk a bit in them. Tens machine?

BadZelda · 07/06/2007 09:53

What a pain about your boiler H&A - and it's gone all cold and grey again as well

sputnik · 07/06/2007 10:26

Congratulations Brownsuga, Elijah is a lovely name.
I'm still here, had some mild contraction type pains last night then nothing. Got a feeling things will kick off today or tomorrow though.
Derlor, what a bummer for you, you must've thought this is it then nothing, how frustrating.

riabutterflew · 07/06/2007 10:37

BZ- hot bath or shower? What a clever DD to think of heeled shoes! (When I couldn't move with sciatica last summer my DS1 offered me a walking stick - thoughtful, but not quite in the same way!)

Hope your boiler better soon Holly.

What water-breaking incentives to Debenhams have?

Must go and do my "resting" jobs. (Was thinking DH might get the morning off today to look after me ... no such luck. And the asst. manager kept him there til midnight last night asking why he was pissed off - I would have thought that was pretty obvious, especially at that time of night.Grrrrrrr. Am going to try to be good and not dwell on it today. Wish me luck!

BadZelda · 07/06/2007 10:57

Ah - my researches suggest it's the sacro-iliac joint (makes sense, have had problems with that before). Just need to get it moving again...(ouch)

hollyandalice · 07/06/2007 10:58

Hooray, hooray, my boiler is fixed (again)!! Hopefully it won't go again!

Sputnik, it sounds very hopeful, fingers are crossed for you xx

Hope your bottom is feeling better bz. I get that sometimes and it is agony. I find it goes if I hobble around for a bit, very difficult to do, but works eventually!

Ria, glad you are being positive today. Remember you need to relax and chill, stop doing jobs!

Is anyone watching This Morning? Isn't that Lembit Opik a fucking prat? How can a man like that be a politician? Going out with a cheeky girl? Loser!

BadZelda · 07/06/2007 11:00

Oh - and I thought I'd better call my mum and patch things up a bit, as I'll feel a bit rotten just sending her a text message when the baby is born - but she just said she doesn't want to know and put the phone down on me.

hollyandalice · 07/06/2007 11:05

Oh bz, that's horrible, you poor thing ! Do you think she'll come around once the baby is born?

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/06/2007 11:20

Congrats to Brownsuga - but you were supposed to wait til tomorrow, like me !

bumperlicious · 07/06/2007 11:22

BZ, what a shit time you are having with your mum. I'm really sorry. As for the hip thing I would guess sacroiliac joint as well. I've had problems with my left one almost since I got pg. Not been so bad lately but since my shopping expedition on Monday my right one has been hurting, to the point where Monday night I could lay, sit or get into any comfortable position, and ended up having a bath at 1am, which only helped a little.

On the plus side, my interpretation is it is part of the body's prep for labour so could mean things are imminent! Hope you feel better today, and I'm despairing of your mother

Ria, hope your day is better. Will DH think about looking for other jobs?

Congrats Brownsuga! What a fab name, hope you are doing well and not missing your family too much (assume they are all still in NZ?)

Morning to everyone else. Enjoy shopping in Debenhams annobal and Foxy, Holly, good luck with the boiler.

Thinking laboury thoughts for everyone else!

Has a really nice evening with a few friends over last night. Was very theraputic, hoping they don't all abandon me once I've had the baby. Got more friends coming over tonight, then DH has TWO WHOLE DAYS OFF!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 07/06/2007 11:34

Morning

Ooooh - Congrats to Brownsuga!

BZ - Sorry about your sore butt!! I find heels easier to walk in too - but feet are now a bit swollen so am a bit limited? And your mum sounds like she's being a bit mean!? You know what they say - 'you can choose your friends - but you can't choose your family!'

Delor! You must have been gutted with all that action and no prize at the end! Hope the baby with change their mind and decide to come and join the world today?

Diplidophus - hang in there! Only 1 more week of work to go! I only finished on Monday - and I know that last week feels
like it's dragging but you'll get there!

Sputnik - Keep in touch today! - I have a hunch that you'll be the next to go!!

My last 2 days have been soooo productive - have got loads done and am v chuffed with myself
Although was a bit disappointed that washing my horse yesterday afternoon didn't induce labour!! I think I'll have to take the horsebox out for a spin over some speedbumps or something today???
