bugger, stuffed the link up.

contraction timer

justbeme · 05/06/2007 18:17

thanks!! At least you can do links - I havent got a clue!!

Off to have Tea now - see ya all later!!

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 18:18

Well I think they might be BH, either that or LO doesn't much like burgers as the pains have eased now.

bugger!!

Although they are still faintly present so I will keep you all posted!

foxybrown · 05/06/2007 18:18

I'm never quite sure which way round it is!! But am figuring that BH are brought on when you do to much, so rest should help them. That's my thinking. Derlor? Can you help?! Am well and truely confused! (nothing new there, then )

foxybrown · 05/06/2007 18:20

When's your next MW appointment TA?

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 18:30

Tomorrow 11am... will hopefully have more news then!

foxybrown · 05/06/2007 18:32

Good luck. Do you know if they will give you a sweep? How many days over are you? Hopefully things have been moving already (haven't been using my powers of visualisation BTW )

sputnik · 05/06/2007 18:37

Congratulations Daisy, great news.
Just checking in quickly then will catch up later, but it doesn't look like there's been anymore babies today.
Just wanted to say that I'm back in the running for next to pop (sorry BZ but I do feel like a balloon). Saw the gynae yesterday and I'm 4cm dilated! She actually touched the babies hand while she was having a rummage, he had it on his head [aw cute emoticon] anyway probably a good walk or some other activities would probably do the trick, so we've transfered to Rome so the hospital and babysitter are handy. Will keep you all posted

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 18:55

I am only 2 days over. I am not sure about a sweep - there is no love lost between me and my MW and I am not sure what will happen. As far as I'm aware she's just going to do routine checks and then find something to tell me off for.

TBH I would rather go to the hospital and have an unknown MW do whatever to me than have my GP MW get her dirty fingers anywhere near my bits!

I will ask what the options are anyway.

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 19:01

Anyway what do you mean you haven't been visualising??

I have a very nice cervix I'll have you know, well worth a few visualisations. I'm disappointed in you Foxy.

DesperateDerlor · 05/06/2007 19:08

oh i'm just popping in to update you... i've been having some MAJOR some minor conractions since late this afternoon maybe the pressure thing i was feeling was relevant after all?? i went for a bath and things calmed down at the mo but still feel very odd and uncomfortable - if nothing comes of it tonight i'm having a sweep tomorrow morning anyway so hopefully that will restart things.
TA if you are truely in labour NOTHING will stop contractions except the appearance of your baby!! they will get more regular and stronger ie more painful - if pain not increasing and they stop when you move around then they are BH contractions.

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 19:10

Dammit!!

I'm supposed to be first, not you!!

And it seems like BH they are then. [insert sulking emoticon here]

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 19:14

Ok composure regained now

Sounds very exciting Derlor!
In case you hadn't noticed, I am insanely jealous - do keep us posted, if it can't be us we may as well live it vicariously through you

DesperateDerlor · 05/06/2007 19:17

don't despair BH can easilly turn into the real thing any time - get your sweep tomorrow and have lots of sex and pineapples!!
if you get your sweep the MW (even if she is nasty) will be able to tell you how dilated you are - if she really is that nasty i'm sure she will take pleasure in giving you a thorough sweep and that will help you even more - every cloud

foxybrown · 05/06/2007 19:25

Sputnik and Derlor! Babies imminent I hope! Good luck to you both, sounds very promising.

Blimey Sputnik, you are nearly half-way there already!

DesperateDerlor · 05/06/2007 19:29

sputnik, maybe your LO is actually trying to dig its way out!! 4cm, lucky you

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 19:33

PMSL Derlor yes I suppose that's one way of looking at it

Sputnik and Derlor next! Very excited for you both!
4cm is amazing, wow

familygirl · 05/06/2007 20:10

Pretty new to Mumsnet, but on Bumperlicious's advice (from a thread I started about my preganncy 'woes'), I thought I'd pop my head in here... 37+4weeks, due 21st June with my third baby. I'm soooo ready for baby to come now!

DesperateDerlor · 05/06/2007 20:10

well now i'm just getting pissed off.... these contractions are VERY painful and coming from my back to my front about every 12 mins or so then i'm also getting not so painful abdominal ones every 4-6 mins - don't know whether to phone in or not as was only in labour with DD for 2 and 3/4 hours - hospital is 1/2 hour away!!

trace2 · 05/06/2007 20:13

delor ring for advice! they should be able to tell you

trace2 · 05/06/2007 20:13

welcome familygirl

familygirl · 05/06/2007 20:15

Thanks

trendaverter · 05/06/2007 20:37

Welcome Familygirl

Derlor call the hospital I think they'll want you to go in!

foxybrown · 05/06/2007 20:41

Hi FamilyGirl, and welcome. Hope you are doing OK and have had a good pg.

Derlor - ring the hospital!

and don't forget to text me! Good luck xxx

familygirl · 05/06/2007 20:50

Truth be known, not really...But we're on the home-straight now which is good! 2nd/3rd/4th time Mums-Is it just me or do you feel like you're ready for the baby to come earlier in each pregancy?...Seems daft to be so eager when I've only just got to 'full term'!
