I've just got back from shopping and have to regale you all with my finds as I just had one of those days where everything went right for me. Normally I steer clear of what I consider the more expensive high st shops and pretty much stick to Primark, Peacocks, DP and New Look at a push. But my friend always comes home with fab clothes at bargainous prices that she picks up in the sales of shops that I would never normally even look in. So today I thought I would just mooch around and look in some different shops. I've been craving getting a pair of yellow shoes and perhaps a yellow dress for ages, but said I wouldn't buy any more clothes until LO is born.

Anyway, went into Wallis and founds some fab yellow wedges 25% off, so £26, but put them back with my usual "I don't need these" guilt complex kicking in. Was just on my way home from town and passing Oasis, saw some sale signs and popped in (Don't usually go in there as think it's v over priced). Found a gorgeous sunshine yellow dress reduced from £60 to £18. Sized 14, pre pg was a 12 so ummed and ahhed as have no idea what size I am going to be afterward this baby is born (see yesterday's post re: size 16-18 trackie bottoms!), noticed a button had come off (but comes with a spare) and the lady offered to take another 10% off - that sold it to me, and bought it anyway as she said I could take it back within 28 days (LO will hopefully be here by then!). So went back to Wallis and decided that there is no point in having a yellow dress and no shoes to go with it, fortunately they were the perfect shade. Paid for them and on my way spotted some bags and thought well there's no point having yellow dress, yellow shoes if I haven't got a bag to go with them - found a lovely beach style wicker one with a yellow ribbon £23 reduced from to £7.50. Brill - it was just so my shopping day today - and not even ruining it with my usual guilt over spending money as after this it will all be baby stuff! Plus, bought a couple of bath bombs in Lush and they gave me and end of line one free (they never advertise that they are doing this so I think they just give away stuff to customers if they are nice to them - that's what I would do!).

Anyway, sorry for that boring ramble but I just had to share my happy shopping day with someone!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 16:41

Oh well daisy, at least you are going to have a baby tomorrow! Soooooo excited for you! Are you enjoying your last day of quiet?!

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 16:42

justbeme · 04/06/2007 16:45

Ohh Derlor - sounds promising!!
Bumper, that sounds like a fab day out shopping - I bet your on a high now!!

and my day has consisted of trying to unblock a hoover and getting dust blown in my face from bunged up filters! yuk!!

Sooooo thinking of you for tomorrow DaisyBump - Good luck if I dont get the chance to say it again!!

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 16:47

maybe after bub is born you could change your name to Yellowlicious? you truely are a yellow shopping guru
DH has taken the LO's to the park and i'm supposed to be having a lie down but i can't even be arsed going up the stairs to bed!!!
i've just checked a few websites and aparantly things can still take up to 2 weeks to kick off after you've had had a show!!! TYPICAL!!!!!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 16:47

Got to re-pack my hospital bag as well as I'm only allowed a small bag with nighty nicks and dressing gown for me (and one maternity pad!) and one outfit and a couple of nappies for bub! DH can bring in the rest once I'm on the post-natal ward....and there was me thinking I was organised.

Hi KDRacey...glad things are OK with you..

DG we thought you were off having your bub, big labour vibes to you and Derlor and TA.

Bumper, after you've posted on here, would you please go onto THIS THREAD and let them know.....DH is scared of MN!

Right signing out now as we're having a nice final dinner as a family of three (feeling quite emotional about that) and then after DS is in bed, DH is going to set about me with the razor....he better do as I ask and not give me a Brazilian, or worse a Hollywood!!!

Big labour vibes to everyone and I'll talk to you all at the end of the week!!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 17:00

Oooooh, good luck Daisy!!!

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 17:02

Will do the posts btw. Probably best our DH's stay away from MN. Mine knows my name and I am worried he might see things that I have said about him

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 17:04

Bumper - mine regularly sits beside me and reads the posts - he thinks it is hillarious some of the things that go on here, i DO shield A LOT of it from him though!!!!!!

annobal · 04/06/2007 17:10

GOOD LUCK DAISY

Now off to catch up...

DesperateDerlor · 04/06/2007 17:11

back later...

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 17:12

Actually I have encouraged mine to come on here and check out some of the threads, on the proviso that he promises not to come onto this thread nor to do a search on my name! I do tell him a lot of stuff that goes on though and he has much the same reaction as yours!

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 17:13

GOOD LUCK DAISY!
So exciting, this time tomorrow you will be holding your LO and I am jealous!

Hope all goes well xx

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 17:19

I just remembered something from my shopping, I was going to go into this specialist cigar shop to get a couple of cigars as a father's day/new baby gift and as I looked in there I saw that one of the staff members was smoking - in a shop in a shopping precinct. I just said to the guy "well I'm not coming in here if you are smoking - I'm 9 months pg" and hung around outside to see if he would put it out and come and see if I needed any help - nada! So that's a sale they've lost from me! Jeez, I can't wait until this smoking ban comes into action - just wish people weren't allowed to smoke in the streets either!

fatsuitgirl · 04/06/2007 17:28

Hello!!

back from holiday and PISSED OFF so won't stay on here long and depress you all. Have ANOTHER cold and also have pelvic girdle pain (apparently caused by baby engaging?. And huge fat ankles. DH has started referring to me as elephant woman. In a nice way. If there's a nice way of calling someone that...

But enough about me... who's popped so far? Daisy, am v. excited for you - good luck!!! Still got two weeks to go, so am hoping I'm all healthy by the time LO is ready to come out - somehow the idea of going through labour when I can't actually breathe is just too much to bear...

DANCESwithnewlytannedlegs · 04/06/2007 17:31

C'mon June ladies, stop skulking around waiting for that moon....come over here

annobal · 04/06/2007 17:31

Eeeeuuuww, I hate smoking (am obviously an ex-smoker )

Love the scooter buggy - am thinking that DS1 and DS2 could take DS3 for a scoot

Well done on the yellow shopping Bumper - am not even thinking beyond birth at the moment so couldn't even contemplate shopping for after...

I was just downstairs getting dinner ready and DS2 was whimpering upstairs so I went up to see what was wrong...
Me - what's wrong
DS2 - willy got big (while whipping his kecks down)
Me - have you been playing with it?
DS2 - No, want cream on it
think that will be coming out at a later stage in the embarassing way only parents can...

bumperlicious · 04/06/2007 17:32

Oh catsuitgirl that sucks. I'm getting worried as DH has a sinus infection and I am dreading getting ill before going into labour. Can you take ecchinaeca (sp?)? Drink lots of OJ, steam your face, try and get some rest. Hope it clears up soon!

TALLULAHBELLE · 04/06/2007 17:34

Good luck Daisy - can't wait to hear your news. Soooo excited for you.

fatsuitgirl · 04/06/2007 17:35

So come on, tell me who's come out the other side!!! Anyone? Has Lilkel had her c-section?

fatsuitgirl · 04/06/2007 17:54

Okay, I'm off to stick my head in the oven (sorry, I mean to stick my head over a saucepan of boiling water... . But please don't answer my question and then fill up three more threads before I'm back.

BTW, penultimate episode of Prison Break tonight... and I've got last week's to watch, too on Sky+. My question is, what will there be when it's over?

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 18:23

fatsuitgirl.....STATS OVER HERE

I'm whispering cos I'm not meant to be here, but DS has been a sod over tea ans DH has pissed me off.....he's more nervous than me about tomorrow and keeps telling me this fact and that he's really really tired and I'm fed up listening to it. He also gets really sarky when he's nervous about something and I've had his not so funny, funny one liners to deal with all afternoon.

Feel like telling him....It's me that's getting cut open, me that's gonna be sore for weeks, me that hasn't had a decent nights sleep since I don't know bloody when and can't see when I will again, and it's me that's fucking pregnant and emotional...so shut your whinging gob and do something constructive, like give me a bloody cuddle!!

and I spoke to my charming mother earlier and signing off the conversation said "next time I speak to you I'll have a baby"....to which she responded "You hope"...what's that supposed to mean FFS!!

So, I'm hiding on here and not talking to anyone!
