I'm off too.....DH and I are going to do the evil deed tonight...needs must after all. He said would I mind if he didn't shave as he wanted to wait and have a good shave tomorrow night so he is lovely and smooth for cuddling the baby on tuesday....everybody go aaaawww sweet

Not to worry says I, this is not a romantic interlude of any kind, purely a biological transaction for helping the baby out by herself.....the look on his face

LOL Daisy - enjoy and sleep well

riabutterflew · 03/06/2007 21:27

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Just checking in to say I haven't been away having a baby, just an unexpected social life!

Will catch up tomorrow. Sorry if I've missed anything important.

bumperlicious · 03/06/2007 21:40

Jeez Holly, you have such a rough time with your step family. I can't imagine how you deal with it. Can't even keep food for yourself in your own house? And to have two children sharing a room so the boys can have one once a fortnight? Ridiculous.

bumperlicious · 03/06/2007 22:00

Nothing much going on Ria - it's been ages since anyone had a baby! Got to be another one soon!

hollyandalice · 03/06/2007 22:23

Have a good shag daisy !

Night ria and bumper, if you are still up! I've just got home and am knackered, so off to bed! Sweet dreams and contractions to all xxx

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 07:39

My 'friend' who had been planning to visit me today just sent me a text to say 'I can't come, it's foggy and I am scared of driving in fog'

I am sorry what!?

Now I have heard some crappy excuses in my time but that one is amazing. We aren't talking about a 17 year old novice driver either. She is in her 30's, very well educated and travelled, and very independant. But scared of the big bad clouds, obviously.

foxybrown · 04/06/2007 07:59

Morning!

How are you feeling TA?

Sorry to hear about your friend. Do you live in the middle of the Yorkshire Moors or something?

Fingers crossed that your cerivix opens like the petals of a pretty, delicate flower - LOL!

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 08:03

Morning Foxy! How's life today?

I feel fine...annoyingly lol. Would love to say I am getting funny pains every 15 minutes but no such luck.

I live in Reading, she lives in Milton Keynes, definately out back and beyond eh? I am utterly flabbergasted. If she doesn't want to come, fine, but because there is fog?!

My cervix is being extremely unco-operative I must say. I am going to read it the riot act if it doesn't start doing it's thing by lunchtime.

foxybrown · 04/06/2007 08:08

Considering I went to be when the children did, I'm feeling pretty good!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 08:10

Good morning......bit pooey about your friend TA...the fog might lift soon and then she can come see you...Has she had children...she maybe doesn't realise how utterly fed up yu are and that at this stage little things like friends visiting really can cheer you up.

We'll be here to talk to you!

Got a bit excited last night as I was getting painful contractions every 15 minutes from about 9:30....waited up until just after 11, but although they were still regular, the pain had gone. Got a fairly decent nights kip too...so, just more false labour

I will ask them to examine me when I go for my pre-theatre assessment today, and take a view on things then, who knows if things have moved on a sweep might be all I need to kick things off!

Last minute shopping to do today....I bought some lovely lilac sheets in mothercare for the crib, but they didn't have fitted, only flat...and the bloody things aren't long enough to tuck in at the top and bottom. I've washed them now so can't take them back...so, gotta get some fitted ones from somewhere, preferably lilac, but...

morning Foxy....any news from Derlor???

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 08:18

Hi Daisy! What would you prefer, a c-section or natural?

She doesn't have kids, in fact she hates (yes a strong word but sadly it's true) kids and has vowed never to have them. When her stepson visits she just shuts herself in her room until he leaves. She never used to be this way, but to be honest I think that's the real reason she won't come visit... I don't think I am quite her type any more!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 08:24

I would have preferred natural, but went for the c-section option as the thought of having another induction scared me witless (induced Thurs tea time...DS born eventually by c-section Saturday lunchtime after nearly 36 hours from first contractions and no sleep since the Wednesday night). But at my hospital they do elective c-sections at 39 weeks, no exceptions, so it was this week or not at all. Couldn't bear another three weeks of this false labour only to be induced and then neeed another em c-section as I was a toal wreck after the last one. the elective seemed the least scary of all options. feeling like a bit of a coward now though, especially when things are obviously (??) happening. Wish I could postpone the elective for another week, but I can't!

....And I didn't get my "sweep" from DH last night either as the contractions were every 15 mins and too sore!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 04/06/2007 08:32

Wow I can understand you opting for the c-section - your induction sounds horrible, I must admit I am scared witless of induction and no you have said that I think I probably have good reason!
How awful

No I didn't get my sweep either! Last n ighbt it was too hot, I wouldn't let him anywhere near me, the night before someone got hit by a car outside our window and between his yells of agony and ambulances it kind of killed the mood.

foxybrown · 04/06/2007 08:37

no news from derlor. am going out for the day, so hopefully she'll update you on here!

later ladies

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 04/06/2007 08:38

Yup. Off for a shower and then shopping for sheets and a tracksuit for DS...much to his annoyance!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 08:45

Good morning!! Hope everyone is well!

Don't worry TA, I was induced with my dd and it really couldn't have gone better. I had one dose of prostin at 3.30, started contracting every 3 mins at 4.30 and had dd in the birthing pool at 8.25! So inductions aren't always bad! Hopefully you won't need one and won't need to worry!

Another lovely day! It said on the weather it was gonna rain all weekend and today??!! No rain in view here, just blue skies!

annobal · 04/06/2007 08:46

Happy shopping days out and shopping! Sorry about your friend TA. Hope you find something fun to do today.

am going to the gym today then a quiet afternoon, so will catch up with you then.

Has anyone heard from SFL? I haven't seen her on here for a while...

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 08:53

Wow, everyone is having productive days today! I am going to have to get a few things ready. I was convinced my waters had broken last night, but I think I left it to long to go for a wee and had an accident on the way! V embarrasing! It's because my bathroom is downstairs and so far from my bedroom, I sometimes can't make it on time! FFS what am I 5?? Anyway I panicked and realised I wasn't even anywhere near ready, so will have to get my arse in gear!

Also my bloody farking boiler has given up! Have no hot water, so if the baby comes I'm fucked! Shit, shit, shit!!

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 08:56

ahhh Holly that's what I needed to hear lol

Since hearing so many induction horror stories I have been fine with the whole thing except induction... I like hearing when it worked ok for people!

looks like it might rain here - it rained during the night too.

Looks like everyone has a busy day planned, I kept my day free so I will probably veg out with some ben and jerrys and a movie now. Ahh it's a hard life

annobal · 04/06/2007 08:58

What a bugger Holly . Can you get someone out today to fix it?

trendaverter · 04/06/2007 08:58

Holly you never have it easy do you?!

What do you need to get ready?

annobal · 04/06/2007 08:59

I'm talking about the boiler here

hollyandalice · 04/06/2007 09:03

Someone is coming out weds anyway to service it, so not too bad. Hopefully I'll get my dad to come over after work, he's good at fixing stuff!

I need to tidy generally, buy a hose to fill the pool and plastic sheets for the floor. Also need to do a big supermarket shop and get baby stuff down from the loft. Also need to clear the dining room as that's where the pool is going. I'm gonna start in a min, so tell me to bugger off if I'm on here too much!!
