@notquiteagandt I didn't get any percentile info. I think the length of my baby in cm is on my picture somewhere but all she said was that I was measuring spot on for dates. Quite glad I don't have that info as that would be another thing for me to obsess over Grin

DragonFlew · 11/08/2018 20:04

Thank you ladies. Will keep you posted.

MrsY87 · 11/08/2018 20:58

@Notquiteagandt one of my was 44th centile and the other 26th but I don't really know how they date them based on the length as surely there is a normal range for each gestation.what centile was yours? If your worried maybe ask your mw at your next appointment. Are you having growth scans for another reason anyway?

maxiflump1 · 11/08/2018 21:08

Anyone felt any baby movement yet? I'm 14+1 and I swear I've felt flutters the last couple of days. It's my second DC so apparently you tend to feel it early if you've already had one. Could be wind though I guess Grin

@MrsY87

Just over the 5th percentile.

They moved my dates ahead. So am unsure really. Think they just must be the smaller end of the size range.

I am seeing the obstitrician next week anyways so I will ask him.

I am classed as high risk due to low BMI and having hyperemesis anyways.
So unsure if growth scans would of been because of this or because of this scan.

I guess if they had concerns they would have told me?

Sonnogrammer said babies measurements where fine and in proportion and all looked ok and as they exspected them.

Im small anyways myself. And have barely been able to eat for weeks. So I would be more surprised if baby was big tbh.

FrowningFlamingo · 11/08/2018 21:16

I self referred to midwives online and got my scan appf ages before I got my booking one. So it varies a lot everywhere.

clairehr · 11/08/2018 21:25

Just heard baby's heartbeat on doppler - AMAZING! 😍

Alicejj8x · 11/08/2018 22:13

@AliceRR
Ahh yay! Did he manage to find them and bring some back? Xx

Alicejj8x · 11/08/2018 22:13

@clairehr
Yay! It's such a lovely sound. I wish we could attach the video on here

Alicejj8x · 11/08/2018 22:14

@Notquiteagandt
I'm also seeing the OB next week but really unsure as to why and what they do?

Notquiteagandt · 11/08/2018 22:27

@Alicejj8x its to discuss any issues.medical things (as midwife is purely about delivery) If they are happy for midwife to care for you or if they want to. Discuss if they think your birth plan is viable (what my midwife said was all about anyways). But im in dark myself tbh.

Alicejj8x · 11/08/2018 22:30

@Notquiteagandt
Ahh ok I see thank you.
Yes I am hoping I'll get more of an Insight into it next Tuesday at my Appointment. My doctor referred me to the OB when I was really early like 3 weeks and it's taken this long for the letter to come through but I wasn't sure what it was for lol xx

Surprisedmom · 11/08/2018 22:39

@Notquiteagandt my scan report came with some little graphs with the crown-rump length and indicating lines for 5th and 95th percentiles (see attached). I figured they have both of these on there as markers everything is fine as they’re the normal range for babies. The fact that you’re at the 5th percentile for size and the hospital don’t seem concerned would seem to confirm that to me.

Just catching up:
@MakeLemonade I had the tiniest bit of blood today and rang the midwives hoping they'd say it was nothing to worry about. They told me to ring 111 as I'm not 12 weeks yet and they totally freaked me out and sent me to the Urgent Care unit. I'm still half convinced it's nothing as it was so little but I've been referred to the early pregnancy unit who will hopefully see me Monday.
Bold: Late Scan Dates I got my date today and my scan will be on week 13 exactly. I was hoping for earlier as I am blantently showing and really just want to tell people now. Got to wait till 22nd.

DeliberatelyGinger · 11/08/2018 22:49

Hmm why no edit button? Guess you can tell I'm new to this

Gillings · 12/08/2018 07:34

@Bluelagoon25 thanks hun. Will try peppermint tea today. My stomach is out of control... unsure if it's the bloat or the baby showing.

I'm currently travelling and hoping to get a lot of walking and hiking in to rid myself of this heavy bloated feeling! Grin

Yakadee · 12/08/2018 07:59

Morning all, hope you're all ok.

15 weeks today - yay! Apparently my baby is the size of a box of crayons lol xx

Notquiteagandt · 12/08/2018 08:10

@Surprisedmom exactly the same as mine. My cross was on the bottom line. So I am taking it to mean its the smaller end of the range but still within it.

You know when you look and instantly wish you hadnt?

Bought myself first few bits for the baby though to cheer myself up.

Since2016 · 12/08/2018 08:38

@notquiteag&t I think mine is also around there - it’s basically within range. I wouldn’t worry. I think the dates are possibly out by a few days or two but baby is measuring within the parameters for the date which is what the measurements are for. After this point all babies grow at different rates. My family make BIG babies so I’m unconcerned. You’d worry equally if it was on the top line... if baby is fine then relax. My next scan is 3rd Sept so I will just track the measurements!

powkin · 12/08/2018 08:52

I’m seeing the OB tomorrow but I have no idea what to say. I have EDS/hypermobility which can have a huge impact on pregnancy/birth (late miscarriage, premature birth, super quick labour, horrible injuries, poor wound healing, failure of anaesthetic etc) but then each person with the condition is different and there’s so little real research, mainly anecdotal stuff online, it feels impossible to make an informed choice about what route to go down. My aunt haemorrhaged and almost died in childbirth and my cousin’s hip got much worse so there’s some history. I know local anaesthetic doesn’t really work on me so terrified of a botched local anaesthetic emergency CS, but that leaves planned CS potentially under general and super slow recovery (cat scratched me lightly about 2+ months ago and still looks red) OR just praying for the best with natural birth. My hip doesn’t really rotate outwards well on my right side so concerned about all that as well!

I guess all I can do is lay out my concerns and hope they can advise! Confused

On the plus side, had lots of cake yesterday and some funny dream in which I had a massive married couple-esque tiff with a colleague (we are like a married couple at work so it is funnier than it sounds!). It ended with me telling him to f-off and flouncing out dramatically whilst he made faces at me. I bloody love a good dream flounce.

Alicejj8x · 12/08/2018 09:07

Has anyone told work yet?..

I haven't mentioned it yet . I have my 12 week scan tomorrow & have the whole day off so I will most likely tel them Tuesday/ Wednesday when I can pluck up the courage lol

I am a nanny so I feel extra guilty I am leaving them in the lurch as silly as that sounds. I know I have to think about my own life and I no there be happy for me but I feel so guiltily I'll be leaving :/ I need to shift this feeling as I will be giving plenty of notice for them
To find someone else

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/08/2018 09:48

@powkin. I have the same kind of issues. I Have a three year old sternotomy scar that looks more like it's three weeks old than three years! It makes me really self conscious. I also have cat scratches from a decade ago that you can still see 😂.

General works well for me but I have a narrow airway so they refrain from using it. Local doesn't work too well or is really delayed to it starts to work AFTER and sedation doesn't work at all. I remember having sedation for a bronchoscopy and the nurse cranked it up to the highest setting and I kept saying "But I don't feel any different".

I had a third degree tear with my first and a super fast labour with my second, which resulted in me feeling shit for months afterwards. BUT, with my third it was an induced, beautifully managed birth with an epidural and apart from a brief massive drop in blood pressure just after they'd put the needle in, I felt great during and after the birth. I couldn't believe how different it was to the other two.

Tell your OB how you'd like your birth to be and ask them what they think is best.

AliceRR · 12/08/2018 10:11

@Alicejj8x He said he couldn’t find them! I will have to keep an eye out myself as I quite like a hard sweet atm

I told my sort of manager on Friday as I basically said I’d be “a bit late” Friday morning but turned up to work at nearly 1pm as I was at the hospital more ham four hours. Wanted to explain and we also have a good relationship. He said he’d guessed.

I need to tell my actual manager who works in another city and I see max once per month but there are already two other people in the team (of about 15) on mat leave and two people are leaving this week so it’s not great timeing for them but they are very fair in these situations and do everything by the book.

Baby160P · 12/08/2018 10:42

@Alicejj8x I don't know if it's our jobs hat make us feel this way.

I too am very anxious about telling them. I've actually only had the children since April but they are very attached.

I have a list of positives for them to think about as I a truly worried they will try and get rid of me in the meantime.

Do your family use NannyPaye as their pay role company?

MakeLemonade · 12/08/2018 10:49

I’ve told my boss but not the rest of the business - think I’ll tell them in September as I’m out of the office for most of August.

My boss was alright, we are a small business and I know he will be worried. Last time me being on mat leave had a big impact and likely to be the same again. I feel a bit bad but not gonna limit my family due to work!
