@Alicejj8x I've definitely popped this week, my shorts were really tight yesterday so ended up using a hair tie to do them up by the end of the day 🙈 I didn't really show with either my DD or DS until around 18/20w so it's a bit of a shock showing this early but I suppose that's what happens 3rd pregnancy & twins! I'm going to be a 🐳🤣

Baby160P · 05/08/2018 09:37

@AliceRR interesting. I wonder if it's possible to be slimmer after your pregnant that before 😂🙈

Not sure why that send 3 times!!!

Yakadee · 05/08/2018 09:41

Morning all, I'm 14 weeks today - yay, second tri! Feels like a milestone! Hope everyone is feeling OK today.

@welshweasel - how do you go about getting an elected section? My first labour was complicated and I'm really worried about how I'll physically be able to give birth this time (episiotomy and a LOT of stitches, not to mention all the physio I needed after!). I mentioned my concerns (but not a section) in my booking in appointment and she didn't really say anything other than I'd have to be on the ward as complications meant I couldn't birth in birth centre.

I know it's by no means the easy option but am genuinely concerned about how I'll do it (my boy was 9lb2 and second is usually bigger right 🤭).

Alicejj8x · 05/08/2018 09:46

@Notquiteagandt @MrsY87

Ahh I'm
Glad I'm not the only one who has popped lol

Yes defo reassuring :)

We was thinking about telling our families this coming weekend as my family and OH family off to a race day in ascot so very rare we're all together then would save telling everyone seperate but I'm
So anxious and just wondering
If I should wait till my 12 week scan? Which is the 13th August so the Monday after :/
we did a private scan the Monday just gone and everything was perfect measuring 11 weeks she even said the neck fold was thin and looked good even thou she said this should only be checked once in pregnancy but I'll
Keep sshh at my 12 weeks lol. I'll be 13 weeks at my 12 weeks :/ I duno what to do for the best

How is everyone's symptoms too?

MrsY87 · 05/08/2018 10:07

@Alicejj8x our families have known for a while as I gathered we'd probably tell them should things go wrong as we'd want their support so no harm in telling them now but you should do what your comfortable with. Also I'm known for liking a glass of wine so there was no way I'd easily be able to hide not drinking which meant it was easier to just tell them!

@Baby160P 3m post having had DS I was the lightest I had been in 6 years! I didn't put on a lot of weight whilst I was pregnant, about 20lbs (he was 9lbs 10oz!) and then with breastfeeding the weight just dropped off so it is possible to end up slimmer post pregnancy than before!

Notquiteagandt · 05/08/2018 10:22

@Baby160P I have lost 8 kg already since being pregnant (bloody HG!) So I am fairly confident I will be lighter after pregnancy.

It is the one time im desperate to put on weight and not worry about it.

Feel like im showing super early for it though.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 05/08/2018 10:32

I’ve been using a hairband on my jeans for weeks 🙈🙈

I’ve now gone past that option (it hurts!) and am now in maternity wear or loose dresses with no waistband 😂

Baby160P · 05/08/2018 10:40

Lovely to hear the weight loss is still possible even with a healthy baby, my mum said yesterday I look slimmer at the hips but I have a little bump appearing! Cute but a week and 2 days until our scan. We're 11+2 today.

Yakadee · 05/08/2018 10:40

I've gone full maternity - no chance I'm getting into my normal stuff. I'm 14 weeks now so defo showing - can't believe how much quicker it is second time x

LittleKitty1985 · 05/08/2018 11:19

We're going for my first scan and NIPT today! So nervous!!!!

Since2016 · 05/08/2018 12:26

@yakadee me too - I’m 11 +3 and definitely have a bump. Swimming with s friend yesterday and she was like - yep (she knows!). I’m in maternity clothes - some - now. Definitely jeans. It’s so hot here it’s just summer dresses but going to tell the team after the scan all being well I really can’t hide it any longer.

I’m also having an ELCS - I had a very long labour which resulted in two failed inductions and an EMCS. At my booking appt the MW asked me what I wanted and I said - an ELCS she said I don’t blame you and has referred me. Cons appt in December and section will be booked for week 39. Ask your MW - I said I wasn’t willing to risk it.

bubblybrit · 05/08/2018 14:18

@LittleKitty1985. Good luck with your scan. I’ve also had NICT. Got results back within 5 days. Totally worth it for peace of mind!

bubblybrit · 05/08/2018 14:19

*NIPT not NICT! Doh!

jeanzbeanz · 05/08/2018 14:34

For the PP who was asking about weighing less after having the baby - my mum was HUGE when she was pregnant with my little brother but weighed less after he was born than before she was pregnant. She craved fruit which might explain why!

I've lost a few kilos so far @Notquiteagandt but not as many as eight!!! I definitely have a little bump (or bloated stomach) but bum/arms etc are noticeably thinner. My watch is far too big now.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 05/08/2018 14:53

I don't know if it's because it's my second, but the past couple of weeks my belly has just boomed! 13wks on Wednesday and living in stretchy leggings!

DragonFlew · 05/08/2018 15:08

@LittleKitty1985 good luck at your scan!

hayley013 · 05/08/2018 15:16

We'd really like a little boy this time but DD would like a sister so it's a win win either way really.

I've had a headache everyday for about a week now, not sure if related to UTI but I also read that it's common during week 12-14 but to obviously get checked if you feel worried. I'm 12+4 today so would make sense, will see if it passes.

The first poo and see, wow, I wish someone had warned me to maybe expect it. Very strange feeling. Salt baths are amazing for healing stitches, also just reassures you that it's nice and clean.

My bump has really popped out the last few days, people are shocked when they see me haha.

@Lookingforadvice123 I was similar, 23 hours back to back labour, the contractions were horrific from the off and I have quite a high pain threshold. Not too bad though in hindsight, just got it done.

It really fascinated me how much your body just takes over, I was in a lot of pain but kept my mind on the outcome and i believe it helped. Was lucky enough for everything to progress well though and am grateful for that xx

FrowningFlamingo · 05/08/2018 15:41

It's my first and my abdomen has def already changed shape and is sticking out more. I must have terrible abs!!

hayley013 that's interesting as I've had lots of headaches since hitting the 12wk mark. I'd put it down to the heat and not sleeping well but maybe it's a pregnancy thing...

craftymum01 · 05/08/2018 16:39

I love the idea of having a DD but my DS has such a lovely nature that I think if I had another one like him I would be perfectly happy. This is also our last baby so I think I would be a bit sad never to have a girl but I could learn to live with it and spend my money on doing girly things with my niece.

Yakadee · 05/08/2018 16:40

@Since2016 - Yeah I'm going to have to talk to her. I think the issues I had started with being induced. It really does worry me, I'm concerned it'll put the baby at risk. My mum keeps telling me to really 'sell it' and I keep telling her I'm not exaggerating anyway lol. X

Fiep · 05/08/2018 17:21

@FrowningFlamingo I'm the same. Number one here and 14 weeks tomorrow. I feel huge. I did put on a few kg because every time I didn't eat something carby for a couple of hours I felt nauseous, so I ended up overeating and not doing exercise (from doing loads previously) due to fatigue. I'm a cyclist so I have no abs and my theory is that this is why I look so flabby and big round the middle so early on!

My appetite now seems to have normalised though and I have energy - worked out quite a few times this week AND felt like it too. And cleaned the house which is a massive achievement (I'm a slob).

So hopefully the bump will look healthy soon rather than flabby lol.

Alicejj8x · 05/08/2018 17:55

@FrowningFlamingo
Yes to the headaches. Today I've had one for most of the day :(
