Morningglory, your sickness sounds awful. Can't really think of what would be good to eat but sympathise.

gingermumi · 27/06/2007 15:15

That was for morninglory!

Indignatio - external scan does pick up heartbeat but i had internal because of fibroid. Sonographer did start on outside and we could see heartbeat but not very well so went for internal instead.

indignatio · 27/06/2007 15:18

Thanks Jo

pobletsmum · 27/06/2007 15:19

indignatio - did you mean a doppler thingy? My mw last time didn't even try (I was 8+3 at that time), as she said there was no point. However I saw a mw @ 10wks I think & she did pick up heartbeat. I think it varies though. Best to go NOT expecting to hear heartbeat, then you won't be let down.

tadpolemummy · 27/06/2007 15:24

Hello i'm new to mumsnet and I just found out today that I'm pregnant with my second baby. First kid will be 2 1/2 when I give birth to the second if all goes well. i'm due on 14th feb, and I'm suffering nausea and tiredness. REALLY off my food, racking my brains every evening to know what I'd like for dinner and it's difficult as normally I have no trouble eating!! congrats to all the others due in feb. I look forward to chatting to you all on mumsnet!!

Jo9977 · 27/06/2007 16:26

Welcome tadpolemummy!

gingermumi · 27/06/2007 16:36

and from me too.

Egg · 27/06/2007 16:52

Welcome tadpolemummy! We are a bit chatty over here i think so good luck working out who is who (I have been on this thread a month and am still struggling).

Indignatio, cannot believe your GP told you that. It is awful for her, but not professional to be telling you. I thought it was bad enough when the nurse who took blood from me told me she was not normally allowed to and was very rusty.

Morningglory, avocado is very good, although to be honest I don't think you will be fancying that . Fishcakes? I am eating quite a few of them at the mo.

mymissus · 27/06/2007 17:15

Hi all
Am just back from a day's work - am KNACKERED!! Hit 4 o'clock and just wanted to curl up on the sofa. Thanks for all the welcomes though - made me feel much better.

Have got midwife coming to see me next Friday - it seems like an age away and I can't believe its going to be another 5 weeks or so before I can tell people.

Egg · 27/06/2007 17:29

I have to wait another 3 weeks for my midwife appt. And then the following day is the all important 12 week scan. I CANNOT WAIT. Although I have told quite a few people I want to shout from the rooftops!

Mymissus, not sure I said welcome in all the flurry of posts earlier, so welcome and congrats. I hit a tiredness barrier at 4pm and I have a nap every lunchtime .

mymissus · 27/06/2007 17:48

Thanks Egg - although I think you deserve a midday nap! I'm sure I will be doing the same thing next week -I finish work on Friday as I handed my notice in before I realised I was PG - now am slightly panicking that am going to have to find temping work until Christmas rather than go for the permanent job. All a bit daunting but trying to take it one day at a time at the moment...!

rozzyraspberry · 27/06/2007 19:48

Welcome tadpolemummy and congratulations!

I can now relate to those of you who are struggling with tiredness - last few days I've been shattered.

Egg I'm that you only have 3 weeks to wait until your scan. I haven't got my scan date yet but expect it to be 4 or 5 weeks away. The sooner the better so I can tell everyone I'm not just fat!

Ignatio - I can't believe your GP said all that stuff to you. Silly cow - she must know how paranoid you are when you're newly pregnant.

Morning glory - sorry you're feeling so bad. I always find munching on sandwiches is ok - egg or cheese - just something plain.

Hope everyone else is ok and having a nice evening.

chillgirl · 27/06/2007 20:15

Hi Everyone
I'm due at the beginning of February and I won't see my midwife for 2 more weeks by which time I'll be 11 weeks gone so I've no idea how long I'll have to wait for my scan.
This will be my 3rd baby and as I have already had one miscarriage I'm slightly wary but also incredibly excited and want to tell the world. I hate keeping it from my work colleagues especially as I feel so sick and want lots of sympathy.

Has anyone found a cure for sickenss yet?

CountTo10 · 27/06/2007 20:40

I just don't know where to start!! Can't believe it's been a week since I was on here!!

Sorry to all those of you with bad news or worrying times or feeling really sick.

Congrats to all the new people!!

And Egg - I have just finished mopping up the tea from the floor I have just spat out everywhere at your news!!!! It's fantastic, congrats - loving the Nemo & Dory combo!!!

I'm not feeling nauseus or anything at the mo but I'm constantly hungry and soooooooo tired this week. Gone off chicken now but still enjoying Hagen Daaz - dp made the mistake of trying to share it with me the other day - bad move!!! Have been having a few low pains today but I have been overdoing it so that's probably why.

Had a bit of a problem over the weekend cause friends of ours decided they'd guessed didn't like that we wouldn't confirm it and told some people anyway. So a bit of damage control needed!! Honestly, why can't people have a bit of sensitivity!!! Do think we're not going to be able to leave it till 12 wks tho cause I'm really showing!!!!

Hope everyone's ok!!

bluepanda · 27/06/2007 20:55

Sorry it's been a few days since i logged in - have gone from having no symptoms to retching all daylight hours... can't abide the smell of bread (bread!) and not sure how much longer i will be able to hide it at work. Feelin a bit lonely as dp working away for another month or so and kind of want him here - at the very least to share in the sickness!! Anyway, this is such a busy thread it's taken me ages to catch up - Egg - twins!! BTW went to try on my wedding dress today and took a picture of myself looking slinky - nice lady in shop has assured me they will sew panels into it, and even claimed some sort of lucky charm (evidently they have a few bride get pg and even sorted one's dress for when she was eight months!) Have finally added myself to list below - talk to you all soon

welcome to chillgirl. Ind-thats a bloody poor bedside manner there! OTOH yes, at 8 weeks they have both times picked up a heartbeat externally.

I have finally got off my ar$e and made a gp#s appt, for next wednesday. think i'll be about 10 weeks then but might be wrong. am hoping i am not going to be told off for tardiness but really-its baby #3, what stunning news can my male gp give me about pg here?

gingermumi · 28/06/2007 10:13

How lovely bluepanda, you will have to show us how you look (there is some way to add photos to profiles but i don't know how).

Welocme and congrats to chillgirl

basilbrush · 28/06/2007 11:02

OK deep breath -

Hello! I've been following this thread for weeks but haven't plucked up the courgage to join. I should be 8 weeks today, EDD 7th Feb. I have a DS, 16 months. A bit jittery as I had an m/c in March during a school trip abroad - fun!

Never being one to shy from melodrama, I've already had an early scan - last friday after some super light spotting which I totally freaked out about. Fortunately, they found a sac in the right place and while they couln't hear a heartbeat, we could see it flickering on screen.{smile] I'm due a second scan on Wed next week.

Am panicking slightly today as I've remembered that by 8 weeks with DS my boobs had gone up TWO cup sizes and were so sore if someone in the room sneezed, it hurt them. This time, only the nipples are tender and they haven't grown at all yet. Please is there anyone out there on a 2nd pg who's having similar? I tell myself that maybe because I BF DS for 8 months, they are a bit more robust this time round???

Anyway, sorry to have written such a negative first post. Am usually a bouncey happy kinda person. CONGRATS (esp to Egg ) & HUGS to all xx

Egg · 28/06/2007 11:22

Hello and congrats to Basil and Wotsits (mmmmm, I could eat some wotsits right now...).

Basil, just a quickie as am getting DS's lunch ready (he is 16 months too . Last time my boobs had definitely changed. They got a lot smaller after I bf DS, and they have not changed at all this time, still pancakes . Nipples hurt though.

Back later.

basilbrush · 28/06/2007 11:27

Egg - I am somewhat relieved to hear you're pg with TWINS and still have pancake boobs

Jo9977 · 28/06/2007 11:39

Welcome to wotsits and basilbrush and chillgirl and any others who I've missed!

Am telling parents tonight as they're over today and we're taking them away for the weekend. I know they'll be over the moon but completely shocked as well as we haven't told them we were even trying let alone having fertility treatment! Can't wait to see Mum's face!!!

tadpolemummy · 28/06/2007 12:10

hi there, I "joined" the february group yesterday and I'd like to add myself to the "list" that seems to be accumulating. But am not sure how? can someone enlighten me?!! thanks!!!
