Wow- Egg fantanstic news. Two little ones to keep each other snuggly in there. Great news.

Jo9977 · 25/06/2007 12:23

It is good news egg - it might not feel it at the moment but once you get used to the idea...

Until then..... !!!!!!!!!!$%%£$""$&^%$$%$&!!!!!!!

indignatio · 25/06/2007 12:24

Great fabulous scary news Egg

Egg · 25/06/2007 12:27

Bloody hell. Quick responses....

I am over the moon. I can't stop grinning and neither can DH. I am just shitting myself about the fact that we need a bigger house / car / income (!) etc. My inlaws dont even know I am pg yet. We are telling them this weekend when we see them. They are in for a shock.

Right Jo, it is over to you, I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way, you will be fine.

beansprout · 25/06/2007 12:29

Egg - do you have a revised EDD now? (Please don't leave this thread!!)

scorpio1 · 25/06/2007 12:32

rest lots

Egg · 25/06/2007 13:01

Bugger. I was just thinking that. I would guess it is unlikely I can hang on til Feb, but I like this thread, so I will stay here. Same official due date I think, even though they will undoubtedly come early.

Must not get carried away. Still very early.

My parents are on hols. Just texted them...

No wonder I have felt so sick and tired.

Beany, weren't you feeling the same? And DB has been very sick. Please tell me I am not alone!!!! Would be fab if someone else got the same news .

Off to have a look at the "multiples" threads .

manamana · 25/06/2007 13:13

OHMYGOD!!!!!!!! Woweeeeeeee egg, what amazing news! Don't leave! Can imagine that this will take a while to get your head aound, I'm still on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster with just the one - well, theoretically ;-), so can imagine that you may have some less than positive thoughts as well as the omg type excited ones! Get your feet up!

throckenholt · 25/06/2007 13:21

just stumbled in here by mistake (should be working not mumsnetting - and noway entitled to the antenatal threads anyway) - but noticed Egg's news and thought I would comment.

I have twins - it is great - but an amazing shock when you first find out. Pop your nose into the d'ye ever wonder... thread - lots of slightly manic twin mums over there waiting to welcome you.

Congrats to the rest of you too by the way.

rainbowdays · 25/06/2007 13:21

Hi, hope you don't mind me popping my head in from the March 08 thread, my edd is 2nd March but my two previous children have come 3 and 10 days early respectfully, so I am kinda thinking Feb due date rather than March, I have a scan in 4 weeks time and both times previously they moved my due dates back so I could be here "officially" too when that happens.

But also wanted to say - wow egg - two eggies that is good going !!! double congrats!

Slacker · 25/06/2007 13:28

Egg - how exciting! Congrats on your two babies! Hopefully that lowers the odds that mine is twins, as I wouldn't actually be able to fit two more children in my car!

Twins don't always come early, I think a lot of twin pregnancies are ultra managed by the medics, so lots of c/s and inductions, but if you avoid that you're almost as likely to go to term as anyone else - had a quick look on the Homebirth website and the twin birth stories on there go up to 41 weeks! So you may be a February mum yet!

I'm 8+1 now and still very tired but not sick, I've got a busy couple of weeks coming up so not much time to worry about being pregnant.

gybegirl · 25/06/2007 13:43

Very delighted for you Egg! That is so very exciting!!! Adding myself to the list as due 24 Feb (snap Lexie).

Egg sorry I just looked back over some of your posts and I just want to quote:

Egg said:
2nd June
"Maybe it was fate... and beansprout is having TWINS this time round . "

3rd June
"Anyway, another question, will I need a double type buggy if DS will be nearly two when DC2 is born? Really don't want one, but don't think he will be happy with just a buggy board. Any advice very welcome "

"Oh and the thought of twins terrifies me. I do think twins are lovely, and so special, and I used to actively WANT twins before I had DS, .... No twins in the family. The likelihood of twins is higher as you get older... "

Sorry Egg, it looks like your wish for twins came true, and I have to say that the double buggy might be needed now afterall.... Sorry I could not resist, if you feel offended just tell me and I will scurry back to the March thread. Seriously though I hope that the shock settles soon and you can look forward to your wonderful duo adding to your family.

rozzyraspberry · 25/06/2007 14:09

My god Egg - that's fantastic news! Two babies, only one pregnancy - can't be bad!! I'm sure it will be hard work but it will be fantastic with all 3 of your lo's so close in age! Yes double buggy will probably be a must now . Seriously though I'm so glad everything is ok.

Good luck to you Jo!

DearBeatrice · 25/06/2007 15:16

taking a break between throwing up toast & water to say hi to all and esp congrats to Egg.. don't be scared - it'll be fab. and just think, if you ever felt that you might just want 3 babies, you're getting two in one go -

fryalot · 25/06/2007 15:17

can I please just sneak in and add my congratulations to egg?

tis fab news

Egg · 25/06/2007 16:22

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. Am starting to get the fear now more than the excitement. I can't even PICK UP two babies at the same time!

Hello Squonk . Lovely to see you over here on the sunny Feb thread .

Poor DS. He wont know what's hit him.

God DB you poor thing, have you seen your GP? You must be losing weight if you cant keep anything down? Are you managing to go to work?

Rainbowdays of course I am not offended. I was already regretting my previous posts where i was winding others up about having twins . Just hope it happens to someone else too!!!

lljkk · 25/06/2007 16:35

Well it bl--dy well better not be me, Egg (Congrats, btw).

Sorry to hear news of those having m/c. This pregnancy business is hard work.

Pregnancy hormones kicked in with a vengeance last few days. Have been: sick, super-sleepy, nauseaus, sick, completely incapacitated, feeling sorry for myself, rowing with DH.

I badly need some moral support. Saturday I was panicking thinking I would abort rather than endure 2 more months of this and subject rest of family to it, too (sorry if that sounds outrageous, but were my honest feelings). Fortunately, last 2 days better (still tough, but better).

Off to resolve rowing 3yo + 5yo (sigh).

beansprout · 25/06/2007 16:48

Egg, I do understand your concerns, I would feel exactly the same. I wanted twins first time around but I would feel a bit daunted by the prospect this time. Am now irrationally nervous given your earlier posts about me having twins too! (It's all about me!!) I do like the conceive one get one free element though, does seem very efficient!!

DB - sorry to hear you are feeling so, so sick. That must be very hard. I know I am struggling and mine isn't quite that bad.

lljkk - I feel the same list of things as you, esp sorry for myself. We tried for this pregnancy for a year and I vowed I would not moan about any symptoms whatsoever but I am struggling with the sickness. I need to nap in the afternoons at the moment. Am not sure how I am going to manage at work this week.

Jo - how was your scan?

Jo9977 · 25/06/2007 17:11

I'm back and it's good news!!!

Little crumb is hanging in there and we saw a heartbeat!!!!!! Then I cried! We still can't believe it's happening for us after the last couple of years but it is...and it's great...even the nausea!

Oh, and egg...don't even think of leaving us to go to the Jan thread - such wonderful news even if scary!
