So sorry sprogster, take care egg and welcome to newbies. Am trying to tidy study at moment but just want to go to sleep. House is full of teenagers, wish they'd all p* off! Am feeling rather grumpy today!

bristols · 24/06/2007 17:05

Sprogster - so sorry. Thinking of you x

Egg · 24/06/2007 17:29

Hi, thanks for encouragement, esp Sprogster when you have other things to worry about. I called midwife who encouraged me to go to EPU or A&E. EPU is not open at weekends so went to A&E. Felt really foolish being there as did not feel it was an emergency. They checked me over and did an internal examination. Apparently my cervix is slightly open, which is not good, but this can also often be the case if you have had a baby beforeas sometimes it never quite closes properly again, so she said not to worry about it. I have an appt at EPU tomorrow at 11. Feel ok, very exhausted AND sick, so think all is alright...

rozzyraspberry · 24/06/2007 17:39

Egg - I'm glad you're getting some reassurance. I have heard that once you've had a baby you are always 1 or 2cm dilated so that makes sense what they said about your cervix. Good luck with your appointment at EPU tomorrow.

gingermumi · 24/06/2007 17:52

Egg- glad you went to hospital and they were reassuring. Sounds like all is ok especially as you feel sick. Try not to worry (can't be easy) and try to rest if you can. Good luck tomorrow.

beansprout · 24/06/2007 18:45

Egg - good luck for tomorrow. I've also heard that you remain a bit dilated after you have had a child. Please let us know how you get on.

Am feeling sick all day every day at the moment which is starting to get me down. I can hardly face eating which isn't helping.

Redbush · 24/06/2007 19:33

Hi Everybody - just having a quick catch up with you all. SO sorry Sprogster to hear you news and sorry to hear about you that are having worrying times. Good luck to Egg and Jo tomorrow - hopefully will pick up some good news tomorrow evening. Have to say I'm feeling very sorry for all of you who are so tired at the mo. To be honest I don't really feel "very" pregnant - hoping that's just luck and not a bad sign. My DH seems to be having all the symptoms for me though - he's been shattered all weekend and couldn't concentrate at work at all at the end of last week

samsmam · 24/06/2007 20:25

for Sprogster.

beansprout · 24/06/2007 20:26

Jo - good luck to you too. Will be keeping an eye out for your's and Egg's posts tomorrow

samsmam · 24/06/2007 20:30

Welcome to newbies.

Good luck to Egg for tomorrow.

I am feeling really tired and constantly feeling wet- TMI- I don't remember feeling like that with LO. It is making me paranoid. Any one else feel like this- is it normal?

Not too many pregnancy symptoms just mega tired, and nausea if I try to lay in bed awake, have to get up for breakfast then I'm ok- same as last time that symptom!

samsmam · 24/06/2007 20:31

Sorry Jo- good luck to you too, there are so many people on this thread! Great though.

pobletsmum · 24/06/2007 20:50

Sprogster - so sorry to hear your news

Egg & Jo - hope you get the news you have been hoping for.

I'm about the same as the rest of you - very tired, feeling useless for letting DH run around after DS etc. Had over a hour sleep this pm . Feeling nauseous most of the time now especially 1st thing in the morning & in the evening. Also getting acid/heartburn thing in the evenings. A bit worried that I'm only 6+2 and feeling so awful. Whatever will I be like at 40w?

I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to conceal this pg until 12 weeks (or scan if sooner). I could pass for 6/7 months pg when I relax my stomach muscles but it's so uncomfortable to suck in my tummy all the time. I was overweight before conceiving, but it's as though all my stomach muscles have given up the ghost already. Are any of you other 2nd(+) time mums having this problem? I had to buy a pair of maternity trousers on friday, but they were just cheap ones & not too obviously maternity, just have a comfy stretchy waist band. I hope nobody notices!

morningglory · 24/06/2007 21:39

I know what you mean, pobletsmum. In my first pregnancy, I wasn't visibly pregnancy until 7-8 months. Now, I start out OK in the am, but by the pm, my tummy is pooching out. I'm only 5 weeks . Luckily I can hide in all the lovely smock tops and dresses which are around now.

pobletsmum · 24/06/2007 22:16

morningglory - I've bought a couple of those tops, but I'm scared that people aren't used to seeing me in that style, and will guess I'm pregnant. I just can't win! At least I'll be a bit more comfortable.

Egg · 25/06/2007 08:58

Jo. Really good luck for this afternoon. Will be thinking of you.

Now, those smock tops, they do make even the least pregnant looking ladies look pregnant, my sis wore one the other day, and she is skinny as a rake, but even she looked like she was in maternity wear. Much too attention drawing if you ARE pregnant and trying to conceal it!

Jo9977 · 25/06/2007 09:20

Oh, sprogstersmum - I'm so sorry...I can't think of any words to say it's just so awful.

Jo9977 · 25/06/2007 09:24

All the best for your appointment today egg - hope it's positive news!

Welcome to all the newcomers, though by now you probably have settled right in...I can't believe how many posts are flying backwards and forwards especially over the weekend!

Thanks to everyone for all your encouraging thoughts and posts - will take a look at that thread rozzy! I'm putting some plans into place so I don't have to come back to work after - I realise that's just stupid and why am I trying to do it??

Sorry if I've missed anyone out - there's just so much going on!

bubblesbabe · 25/06/2007 10:24

Gingermumi - have just been rereading the thread and saw that we don't just have our age in common but also our jobs! I'm an FE lecturer too - soooooooo glad that teaching stops this week, then planning for next year and timetables etc.
5+6 now and feeling ok - just very very tired. Could happily go back to bed about 30 seconds after getting up.
Jo - thinking of you today
Sprogster - so so so sorry

manamana · 25/06/2007 10:25

Sprogster, so sorry to hear your news. Egg and Jo, good luck for today's appts, will check back later to see the good news. Hello to everyone, working from home today which is a relief...

scully · 25/06/2007 11:23

Sorry to hear your news sprogster. egg, hope everything goes ok at your appt tomorrow.
Hi to everyone else, I'm only 5wks tomorrow, so still quite apprehensive, only started to relax with my other two pregnancies at the 10-12wk stage.
Anyone else not living in the UK?

VP · 25/06/2007 12:12

OK, call me distracted and crazy, I should be on the Jan thread, I'm an idiot

Egg · 25/06/2007 12:12

Ok. Well....

I am back.

Good news. Baby all ok, heartbeat fine. Baby measured 8+4.

Other news. There was another baby. With a heartbeat. All fine. Measuring 8+3.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKETY FUCK FUCK.

THERE'S TWO OF THE BUGGERS IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I should be grateful, and I really am. Half of me is ecstatic. I always wanted twins.

But I am terrified.

They are non identical. Which is good news. Less dangerous.

FUCK.
