Welcome violeta

Thanks for the twin thing. Every child is a miracle and a blessing but twins and a dd under 2. Lets hope my dad and his psychic thoughts are a little wrong!!

Sprogstersmum · 22/06/2007 16:58

Had bit of brown spotting am today so have had a big panic but now calming down and hoping it is just implantation bleed. Had spotting from 14 weeks to 36 weeks with first pregnancy - why does it have to be so stressful. Haven't told anyone (except DP obviously) and while being really happy about being pregnant, can't help just feeling down and worried now.

Egg · 22/06/2007 17:30

Oh Sprogster I know just how you feel. I was shaking like anything yesterday when I saw a brown tinge. It terrified me but have not had any more and still feel crappy, sick and tired etc. Much calmer today.

Welcome Violeta! Your little one is due on my DS's second bday.

Rozzy I saw the March thread too, and also that the ladies on the Jan thread are getting their 12 week scans now .

gingermumi · 23/06/2007 09:42

So much to catch up on, if you don't read for a day, so much happens!

Managed to go out for lunch but felt a bit fragile, could only manage garden centre after that. Felt bad for being so pathetic but dh didn't seem to mind (bless). dd2 has prom next week so we are going for cut 'n colour today - her not me. It will be a good opportunity to sit and read magazines for a few hours! Does anyone know if you can colour your hair when you're pg? I read somewhere that you shouldn't get it coloured (or at least until after 12 weeks). I am desperate to get greys done - an ideas?

Jo- nearly there now. Good luck, everything crossed for you - do you really have to go to work aferwards?

Egg and sprogstersmum hope you are feeling ok now. sounds like that kind of spotting is normal. Had it briefly with dd2 and everything was fine.

Welcome and congrats to all newbies

Bessie123 · 23/06/2007 10:08

gingermumi, I read that there are some chemicals you can't use when you are colouring your hair (I think peroxide was one of them) but that most hair colours don't use them any more. I guess you should check with the hairdresser, though.

gingermumi · 23/06/2007 12:01

Thanks bessie, will do

beansprout · 23/06/2007 15:55

Hi everyone. Am really struggling with the tiredness atm. Dh (bless him) got up with ds this morning and let me have more sleep and has taken him out this afternoon and I have just slept some more. He is doing everything while I just sit around feeling knackered and useless. None of this was helped by waking up yesterday and not being able to move my neck (!!). It's got a bit better but it's still not good. I really needed hard drugs and of course, couldn't take any. Plus feeling sick all the time - what a chirpy soul I really am!!!

Ho hum. The real problem is that I am starting to get very worried about how I am going to manage with a new born. I can't see how I am going to cope and keep having moments where I think "oh god, what am I doing?"

Egg · 23/06/2007 16:21

Beany - I could have written your post! (except for the neck bit). DH got up with DS this morning, I lay in bed til nearly 9 (no extra sleep but still resting). Then I was back in bed for nearly two hours at lunch and did sleep, and DH has taken DS out this afternoon as well, and I am still hardly able to wander around, I am so tired. I was just thinking the same thing, how ON EARTH will I cope with a newborn????? DS was not an easy baby, the first six months was hard hard hard. I convince myself that I know what to do this time, but if Nemo is anything like DS, we are in trouble.............

As for your neck, I really feel for you. I did it last year (after sleeping on DS's floor night after night when he wouldn't sleep), and one morning I turned my head and my neck "cracked" and I was in agony. I could hardly lift it off the pillow. Thank god my lovely GP prescribed some super super painkillers, and although uncomfortable, it was not painful. I was terrified that I wouldnt even be able to pick DS up. However, I know you cant take painkillers like that, but the following day I forgot to take a painkiller and realised the pain was nearly gone, so hopefully you will feel better by tomorrow.

Sorry, long post again from me...

Better get on with thinking about what to feed DS. Nothing homemade I am ashamed to say .

Hope everyone else is ok today. 8 weeks for me, but for some reason I keep thinking it is 10 . Wishful thinking.

morningglory · 23/06/2007 19:01

Can I join? I am currently 5+2 and, as far as I can figure out, due February 21. I have been waiting to join, even though I've known for a bit over a week because I was stunned by an early miscarriage in April (at 6-7 weeks). I guess I feel more comfortable now about this one because the pregnancy I miscarried was strange in the absolute lack of symptoms. With DS (now 3 years and 7 months), I knew I was pregnant even before testing because I was feeling sick. This time, I have waves of intense queasiness, dizzyness, really frequent loo visits, and am very thirsty.

I have a private scan booked in less than 3 weeks, and will let out a sigh of relief if I see a heartbeat. Last time, they just saw a fetal pole at 7 weeks, which mede me know there really was something not quite right. When I started to bleed, I wasn't that surprised.

DS is lovely, but quite a handful, which is why we waited a bit before trying again. DH is craving a daughter to spoil, but after my experience, I just want a healthy, sticky bean.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

hi morningglory, congratulations. I've just managed to catch up on all the news, everyone here is lovely and chatty, I'm a bit of an irregular poster. Been out today to buy some clothes to cover my expanding belly, just bought some cheap stuff from primark that sits a it more comfortably, still feel a bit like I'm tempting fate but my current work trousers are too tight and I think they might notice if I just wear the same skirt every day! Sickness is kicking in more now in the evenings, am munching on tortilla chips to stave it off between meals. Am going to be the size of a house soon! Take care all

rozzyraspberry · 23/06/2007 20:42

Just a quick post.

Congratulations to everyone who has joined us!!!

JO - JUST SEEN A THREAD ON THE PREGNANCY TOPIC ABOUT SOMEONE WHO JUST HAD AN EARLY SCAN AT 6 WEEKS AND THERE WAS A SAC BUT NO EMBRYO. SOME POSITIVE SUPPORT ON THERE FOR HER AND YOUR SITUATION. MIGHT BE WORTH A LOOK FOR YOU!! Sorry if it seems like I'm shouting but just wanted you to see it as it looks similar to your situation and there are a few people on there saying they've had similar experiences and its turned out ok. Best of luck for Monday.

Beansprout - try not to worry too much about coping with a newborn. TBH it was a handful when DS2 came along and DS1 was 23 months. However, dealing with a newborn is so much easier 2nd time around. Honestly you won't believe how much more relaxed you'll be. Also, as long as they are fed, safe and relatively clean that's all you need to worry about. Just accept your house might be a tip for a little while.

Sorry some of you are feeling tired - I'm not struggling too badly with this. I find that if I keep busy I'm not too bad but the minute I sit down I could fall asleep. Sickness is now kicking in though.

Hope you're all having a good weekend

So Sorry sprogstersmum - sending a huge cyber hug.

rozzyraspberry · 24/06/2007 09:11

Really sorry sprogstersmum.xx

Egg · 24/06/2007 10:17

Oh shit Sprogster... I am so sorry. I have more brown discharge this morning and am really frightened so may be joining you soon . I hope you are ok. Feeling very teary.

morningglory · 24/06/2007 10:31

My symptathies, too, sprogstersmum. Went through the same thing back in April and it really was the sh*ts. Lean on your support network (MN was great for me during that time), and feel free to be as self-indulgent as you want.

Sorry egg that you are also having some brown discharge. Try and remining yourself that brown stuff is not the worrysome stuff (old blood). I know how freaky it is to have anything, but don't be disheartened yet.

beansprout · 24/06/2007 11:08

Oh Egg, it's so easy for me to tell you not to worry and so hard for you not to but MG really is right and this is old blood and very common. I had it with ds and he's fine. Sunday is a sh*te day to have a problem too. Where is your nearest EPU? You can always go to A&E and talk to them you know. Big hug to you.

Egg · 24/06/2007 11:22

Thanks girls . It has stopped for now. I have got the number for the midwives I can call who can then get me an appt at EPU. Don't want to call though...

Sprogster, sorry going on about my own worries when you have worse ones .

fillyjonk · 24/06/2007 11:24

v quick post-sprogster am so sorry,

egg-brown discharge VERY common, had that both times (and have 2 healthy kids!), I am not sure it it means anything really about hormone levels, I think its just one of those oddities, how your cervix is shaped or something.

BUT I'd get yourself a scan, go to your GP and just tell them what has happened, they are normally very good.

rozzyraspberry · 24/06/2007 12:44

Egg - like others have said try not to worry. Like fillyjonk says I would tell your midwife/GP about it and try to get an early scan. Not because I think there's anything wrong but I think it's the only thing that'll set your mind at rest.

Sprogstersmum · 24/06/2007 14:13

Thanks for all your kind messages. Really hope everything is ok egg
