Ah thanks Teejay. It's lovely to see you here . I was thinking of you today as was remembering what I wrote on your thread a couple of days ago, and I was looking at my DS and thinking "as long as he is healthy and OK, that's so much more important right now even if Nemo doesn't hang in there". Ah, getting all teary eyed . Anyway, I think everything is ok for now, fingers and toes crossed!

I know I'm being silly but almost wishing for sickness to reassure me all is ok - this is particularly daft cos felt terrible for a couple of months with DD1 so it's not like I don't know what I'm letting myself in for but anyrate I'm 5+1 - when did your sickness kick in? (From memory I think it was around 6/7 weeks for me last time.)

Mine kicked in when I was coming up for six weeks. DS threw up in the car when I was 5 and a half weeks and I was ok then, thank god, if it happened now I don't think I would cope very well!

Am I allowed to join you? Found out last Fri I was preg so I'm suppposedly due around 21st Feb! Have DD1 almost 14 mths. Have to say it doesn't seem very real yet and also seem much more worried that I'm not going to keep it this time - not really feeling anything - just a little queezy occassionally!

Evening Redbush. Welcome aboard. I am definitely more worried about this one than I was about DS. Think I was a bit nonchalant when I was pg with him. Had not discovered mumsnet then, so had no idea of all the things that can go wrong . Congrats on your BFP. Add yourself to the list if you dont mind...

Did another test today as I work it out that it is 4 weeks today- BFP! I knew it would be just like wasting money on the tests!!1

I feel so tired, think I have become an insomniac- never had any trouble before sleeping- can't work out of its nerves or the pregnancy- probably both!!

hi, can i join. found out an hour ago that am pg. dh back late this pm so haven't told him yet. so early can't tell anyone so really wanted some friends to talk to. still in shock as was not planned. dd is only 8 months. i feel weepy and guilty am going to deprive her of attention when she really needs it. how pregnant am i if last period started 30 days ago.

Hello princessllama. Welcome and congrats! By my calculations if it is 30 days since your last period you are 4 weeks and 2 days pg (4+2). Woohoo! If samsmam is 4 weeks today, and due 29 Feb, I guess that would make you due 27 Feb (could check in my baby bible but am too lazy to go upstairs!). How long til DH is home? Will he be over the moon? My DS is 16 months and I am worried about how he will react too.

Been feeling OK for the past couple of days which worries me, I worried when I had stomach pains and now I'm worrying when I'm feeling OK!

Got my first midwife apt tomorrow looking forward to it as it gets evertything else set in motion so I should get a scan date fairly soon.

We have just got some vouchers from BA to compensate us for our nightmare getting back from our honeymoon (stuck in Bangkok for 25 hours). They only last until June 08 so we are thinking of going to Rome in Sept. Is this realistic or will I be to fat / tired by then, its my first so I have no idea.

Just remembered someone asked my dad the other day how many grandchildren he had (he doesn't know I'm pregnant) he replied boldly 7- he only has 5- I'm sure there are twins on DP's side! Imagine twins and a 16 month old!

Morning... Alkar, I would think you would be fine to go to Rome in September. We went to Malaga end of Sept when I was due 22 Feb with DS, and then went to Bruges at the end of October. Both were fine, although by end of Oct I was getting very short of breath if I ever had to walk up a hill or stairs. However, I seem to have that already this time! We are intending to go to Egypt end of September this time. Just dont plan anything too taxing!

Alkar, just curious, where were you for your honeymoon? Presume you didn't spend the whole time in Bangkok as not so romantic . Ours was in Koh Samui (nearly SIX years ago now!).

Samsmam - your dad is obviously a bit psychic and not only knows you are pg without you mentioning it, but he knows it is TWINS! I have a friend at swimming who had twins just over a year after having her first DD... she seems so calm.

Appointment is at 3.30 on Monday...that's gonna be a long day! And even worse...I have to come back to work after to do the back ups for end of day - how pants is that??!

BTW does anyone know of any legislation that entitles you to go to ante-natal exercise classes in works time without losing out - I am determined to get all I can out of work!!!

Pretty sure work have to let you go to all ante natal appts, including classes. I read it somewhere. Mine were NCT ones and lasted ALL DAY (well from 10am to 3pm), which meant taking the whole day off, and no-one said anything. I also did a voluntary pre eclampsia study so had more appts than normal, and I went to all of them without any probs. I think you said you work for a small co, so do check it all out. Very crap you have to go back to work afterwards, you will be wanting to race home and CELEBRATE.

Egg, we went to koh samui too, its gorgeous there and very relaxing. Started in Hong Kong for a few days then a week in Koh Samui then bangkok for a few days. We wanted a really good honeymoon and we knew we wouldn't get a chance like that again!

Hope all goes well on Monday Jo, I had my scan last week its very reassuring to see its heartbeat you should get a better idea of your dates aswell.

Samsmam - identical twins can happen to anyone - egg splits. Non-identical twins run in family but it's the mothers family as means 2 eggs being released at same time. Having twins on DPs side doesn't increase your risk of having twins but then identical twins can happen to anyone .

I'm now 5 plus 2, so due on the 20th Feb - I've added my name to the list below! Have started to feel really tired today, but that may have something to do with cutting down on the caffeine... Also feeling queasy at times as well. Is anyone else getting quite a lot of pressure on the bladder? It's quite uncomfortable at times.

Anyhow, it's my first, and I'm enjoying finding out about what is a completely new world!
