Quick hijack here SamSam knew youd be next big congratulations. Good luck the rest of you too ok Im back off to the Jan thread now. Cheers x

rozzyraspberry · 19/06/2007 16:45

Congratulations to all those who have joined us! It's been a busy few days for BFPs

Jo that does sound positive - the fact that they have you coming back next week must be a good sign and they could see the sac so fingers crossed it's just like others have said and you're a week or so less pregnant than you thought.

For me the dizziness seems to be going and I commented to DH that I felt more like how I did when I was pregnant before. His answer was 'what angry'. When will my grumpiness go!! Am ok for most of the time (I think) but so damn irritable!!

Leesmum - I've been really up and down with the sickness - some days better than others, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy it!

Lexie100 · 19/06/2007 17:16

Not told anyone either but still very early days. Will tell my parents first but they are away for another 2 weeks. It's killing me not telling anyone especially mum when she phones. Will tell select people soon as want support through sickness and if anything happens.

Second timers when are you showing? I'm sure my tummy is bigger already!

I think I am showing a bit, in that I look now like I did at about 14 weeks last time! OK first thing in morning but by the time I go to bed I look a lot more than 7 weeks. Probably just wind though .

gingermumi · 19/06/2007 17:43

Mini - all sounds hugely romantic and like it's all meant to be to me, especially as dp has probs with spermies! Fate seems to have dictated that you're the one! If you felt strongly enough to get engaged after a few weeks, you must be madly in love! Aww, how lovely! Take no notice of the crazy people.

Midwife phoned today, have booking in appointment on 10th July, it's feeling more and more real by the day. Quite glad it's then as we are off to Devon for a week on the 16th and would like to know all still ok before we go.

Egg · 19/06/2007 17:48

Ginger, I just got my booking appt with mw, which is 19 July. We are off to Devon for a week at the beginning of July! Your timing is far better....

Egg · 19/06/2007 17:51

Mini, forgot to say, rise above the ignorant buggers! I say well done to DP and his super backwards swimmers. I can't remember if you said, are you planning on getting married while pg, or waiting until afterwards?

miniandme · 19/06/2007 18:14

We will be waiting till after the baby is born as this is number 4 for me im also showing already so dont want to be obviously pg when we marry

beansprout · 19/06/2007 18:20

Hi everyone (and welcome to the newbies!)

Horrible long exhausting day at work but have come home to a letter saying I have got into the hospital I wanted and that my booking appt is on 27th July!! Will be 13 weeks then but no matter.

Egg - we are going to Devon for the first 2 weeks of July too! Will be near Okehampton - how about you? Blimey, that's 3 of us going - any more?!

Dh is going to be away for the next couple of days which coincides with a v busy time at word. Am bracing myself. Think it will have to be toast for dinner given the state I am usually in by the time I get home!

gingermumi · 19/06/2007 18:27

Wow! How weird is that?! we're going to Croyde Bay - just love the coast - dh is a bit of a surfer, don't think i'll get in my wetsuit this time (all i do is bodyboard - surf boards hurt too much when they hit you!).

Congratulations on getting the hospital you wanted Beansrout.

When I was pregnant for the second time I'm sure I had to go and get bigger clothes at around 13 weeks (was about 20 weeks first time round). This time I'm starting to feel a bit porky already. It's not too bad at the moment as I'm off work and my jeans and things are a bit looser fitting. I'm not looking forward to going back to work next week as my trousers are quite fitted.

I hope you 3 get better weather on your holidays than I have. It has been horrible this last week and half. Never mind should really be used to it in Scotland!!

beansprout · 19/06/2007 19:26

Thanks Rozzy. I'm quite relieved that I don't have to go back to the other one (where I had ds). Am very excited about having a scan date too. This is starting to feel like a proper pregnancy and everything!!

gingermumi · 19/06/2007 19:27

Soz about weather - went to Edinburgh for honeymoon 4 years ago and weather was fab! Can't always rain in scotland - perhaps we had the best week of the year!

beansprout · 19/06/2007 19:28

Edinburgh is lovely, I'd love to go there again. Better than stinky old London.

gingermumi · 19/06/2007 19:35

we went to edinburgh festival - would recomend it if you haven't ever been. Would love to go again but it's a very long way for us and i don't do flying!

manamana · 19/06/2007 20:01

hello all, just a quick hello from me. dh has been away and mil has been here looking after me and ds which has been lovely. left her here when i went to work and ds to nursery and she cleaned, tidied and did a load of washing and put it out to dry before se caught her train - I AM SO LUCKY . So sorry to hear Teejay's news, but Jo from what everyone says sounds positive. I'm feeling shattered and fat! Seem to have developed a craving for coke which can't be good for my waistline! Love 'nemo' egg, we have a similar one 'nermal' Garfield's annoying little friend who's cuter and younger than him makes me laugh and we had a name for ds when he was 'inside' so nice. I'm knicker checking too - also have another preg test in my drawer which i'll prob take before my gp appt next monday, i remember feeling v disappointed last time that they don't test you so will go convinced this timje! Anyway, off to have a bath and get an early night. Best wishes to all

rozzyraspberry · 19/06/2007 20:24

I'm very jealous of those of you with scan dates . Got my GP appointment tomorrow morning so at least that'll get the wheels in motion.

Poor DS1 has his MMR booster tomorrow morning so he'll be with me at my GP appointment. Just hoping doc doesn't say anything to him like 'so you're getting a new brother/sister' because I have no plans telling him for a while yet. Hopefully he'll be too absorbed by the toys in the room.

DS2 has entered the terrible twos big style at the moment. He can be a little angel but is going through periods of doing nothing that he is told. I'm sure usually I could cope with it better but everything seems worse when you're not 100% doesn't it? Anyway another 7 1/2 months to sort him out and on a positive note the toilet training is going much better now so at least will have only one in nappies this time!!

pobletsmum · 20/06/2007 08:28

Hi everyone, just checking in. Have read most of the posts but no time for personal replies - sorry. Have a good day!

Egg · 20/06/2007 08:56

Morning everyone. Was not sure whether to say but I saw some sad news on another thread yesterday that The Masked Poster had a mc last week .

Think all is ok here. When we go to Devon we are off to stay with the inlaws, they are near Honiton in East Devon, then we have a few days in Winchester. Am off again in August with my sis and kids to Newton Abbott as well. Strange how we are all off to Devon at similar times .

Rozzy, good luck at the docs today, and for DS with his MMR.

beansprout · 20/06/2007 09:00

Morning. Have a big thing on at work today so need to look fairly smart. Of course, I just look fat in my normal clothes so have opted for a not too big maternity shirt. Could be seen in front of the mirror this morning, crying and saying "but I look pregnant" to dh
Rational pregnancy hormones strike again!!

It's a bit odd this lack of stomach muscles. I really don't want people to know but realise I can't do much about it. I feel very self-conscious and a bit stupid -random person: "how pregnant are you?"
me: "oh nearly 8 weeks"

Can anyone else reassure me on this one?!

Egg · 20/06/2007 09:05

Oh Beany, all I can say is I sympathise with you. I am so glad I dont have to wear work clothes. It is much easier to hide behind jeans and t-shirts etc, or summer dresses, than work skirts and trousers. I dont think anyone would guess I am pg yet from my belly, but considering I wander round with travel sickness bands permanently attached to my wrists (I get some funny looks, I think people think I am trying to do 80s fashion with sweatbands), and I have a look of fatigue and nausea about me, I am sure people do wonder, but these are mainly strangers who really don't matter. You have to spend so much time with your work colleagues it must be very hard to keep things quiet.

Sorry, bit of a ramble, just trying to send some sympathy...

Jo9977 · 20/06/2007 09:18

Morning everyone...

I like the names everyone has for their little one, nermal especially! Ours is called 'crumb' as in I've got a bun in the oven but it's not very big at the moment!

As you can tell, we're not giving up on her yet!

So sorry to hear about the Masked Poster

samsmam · 20/06/2007 09:23

Morning all, I don't remember feeling this rough with DD1. I'm only just 4 weeks. Anyone else suffer worse second time round?

for Masked Poster.

DD1 was always called Peanut! DP wants to call this one Monkeynut!

lljkk · 20/06/2007 09:36

HI y'all, welcome to the newcomers.
I have an appt. tomorrow with GP to "confirm" the pregnancy. Doctors at My old surgery were not slightest bit intersted, so I was flummoxed that GP here wants to see me -- what do you think the GP will ask/do? Do you think timewasters are wandering in saying "I'm 2 days overdue so need to have a scan now to find out the sex"? Am SO intrigued.

I want to get shopping too . Actually, just to be prepared. But not until after 24 weeks, I've decided. Dont' want to jinx anything. I can research buggies, etc. before then.

Ok, I don't want to upset anybody so please try to skip the next bit if you have strong feelings about antenatal testing and choices.

ASSUMING I get that far, I am going for invasive testing, nuchal fold at 12 weeks, and if no CVS then, an amnio at 16 weeks. I'll try to go to fetal medicine centre in London because they have very low m/c rates after amnio. One way or another, should get a decisive answer on the sex, at least.

Is anybody else thinking that far ahead, or is grappling with sickness filling all your energy?
