Sorry meant to say congrats on the scan gingermumi

and hello to all those newbies - congrats

gingermumi · 16/06/2007 22:37

If it helps, I had cramps and pains for first couple of weeks but they seem to have gone now. I guess it's normal for some of us pg ladies.

Travel-sick bands - should you wear them at night too? Any ideas? Have found dd2s and am wearing them as i type! Will let you know if they work!

gingermumi · 16/06/2007 22:38

And thanks for all your kind words - i love this site!

Holty · 17/06/2007 00:30

Hello Ladies

Thought I would say hi and add my name to the list. Found out last weekend I was pregnant - we weren?t trying as such but just seeing what happened ? so we still feel a bit in shock !

This will be our 1st so things seem really scary & weird ? I don?t feel pregnant ? maybe a little tired in the week ? but certainly no sickness or anything ? most of you sound as though you are suffering one way or another ? is it normal to feel normal !!??

Only told one close friend at work, this wait till you know everything?s ok seems a bit of a lonely period ? so many things I want to know and ask ? but no one to talk to ? I?ve found this site very useful. I feel pretty antisocial making up excuses for not attending nights out and paranoid of what people are saying if I turn up driving!

Looking forward to first midwife appointment a week on Thursday, went to docs this week but just did routine blood pressure/heart beat & quick belly feel ? still keep doubting it?s really there !

I think this site is a really good idea and hopefully look forward to hearing from you all and reading your news over the next 8 months or so

Holty

BTW is there somewhere that explains all the abbreviations ? have sussed some out but others are baffling me !

rozzyraspberry · 17/06/2007 10:13

Congratulations ginger - I'm glad everything is well! Will they remove that fibroid after the baby is born?

Congratulations holty! When are you due? With DS2 I felt completely normal until about 6 1/2 weeks. Everyone is different and feeling normal doesn't mean anything is wrong - just make the most of it!

Hope everyone else ok!

Egg · 17/06/2007 19:10

Evening All.

Welcome to Holty! I think we have about another week or so before the newcomers will start to slow down and there will be a due in March thread!

Great news ginger on your scan. Must have been lovely to see the little bean. I have decided to call my little one Nemo, as this week, according to my "What to Expect" book, he is growing fins . It suits him (sorry, I say him, and it might be a girl of course).

Holty, think it is normal to feel normal, as I felt pretty ok last time round, certainly nothing to complain about! I used to feel a bit rough on my journey to work but was otherwise not too bad, although did have period type pains. Feel much worse this time.

bluepanda · 17/06/2007 19:59

hi - only just joined, found out on friday...my first time and I'm so excited but really scared something will go wrong. Am feeling a bit queasy and my boobs feel gigantic ( although other half informs me this in my mind) have also been having some slight cramps but have been very relieved to find this site and realise it seems normal to have that. Back to work tomorrow and no idea how i will keep smile off my face!

pobletsmum · 17/06/2007 22:42

Hello bluepanda & holty! Please copy and paste yourselves onto the due date list (scroll down to find it) so we can all check on each others progress etc.

Ginger - glad to hear scan went well

Egg- I like 'Nemo'!

Off to bed now...zzzzzzzzzzzzz

teejay · 18/06/2007 08:34

sadly will be signing off this thread as I m/c over the weekend, pretty grim and miserable.
I will be thnking of you all and please dont be too depressed by this- think of me as the statistic that makes you all that bit more secure!
Sorry to depress everyone

beansprout · 18/06/2007 08:40

Not at all teejay. I'm so sorry this has happened. Take care.

Egg · 18/06/2007 08:43

Oh Teejay. I am so sorry. I hope your DH/DP is looking after you. Will be thinking of you.

rozzyraspberry · 18/06/2007 08:50

I'm so sorry Teejay. I hope you get lucky again soon. xx

indignatio · 18/06/2007 09:36

Huge hugs Teejay. Do let others look after you.

DearBeatrice · 18/06/2007 10:01

really for you teejay.. do rest up and let others look after you - hang on in there.

lljkk · 18/06/2007 10:56

TJ, That is SO F*()ing unfair! Especially after you had the scan which looked fine. Talk about false reassurance, I guess nothing is guaranteed in life.

When you feel better go back and give the scan machine a good kicking.

gingermumi · 18/06/2007 11:29

So sorry Teejay. Look after yourself and let us know hw things go.

Congrats to bluepanda and holty, it does seen vey lonely in the early stages of pregnacy so this site is perfect for sharing all those fears, hopes and mad moments. Holty - just be glad you feel fine at moment! have been feeling yuk for what seems like ages - make the most of it! If you do feel sick try travel-sick bands (acupressure bands from chemist - I'm finding they really help).

Chicken pox confirmed so have week off work, doc still says as it is mild and second time i've had it , not to worry. Like the idea of a week off!

bubblesbabe · 18/06/2007 11:35

Can I join the thread too? I have just found out I am due 19th Feb and am vvvvv nervous about it. Am feeling like old lady with 3 already and just turned 40!!

gingermumi · 18/06/2007 11:47

Hello bubblesbabe and congrats! Am 41 and have two dds aged 19 and 16. Have lots of of worries but everyone, including my gp, has been very positive. Thought i was mad at first but it seems the only person hung up about my age is me! How old are your children? I had an early scan privately which has really helped - perhaps your docs could arrange for you to have one too (mine wouldn't as there was no 'medical need') but things are different everywhere. Add yourself to the list (cut and paste it into a msg).

Re abbreviations - if you click on 'acronym list'(by 'useful stuff') at top of screen it tells you what they mean.

bubblesbabe · 18/06/2007 11:57

Thanks gingermumi, I'm glad to know I'm not alone!! how do I add myself to the list? I am clueless as have never posted before. My other 3 are 12, 10 and 5 and will be delighted by this news I think tho' am going to wait a while before telling them. Will also check out the acronyms!! Thanks and congrats to you - will take your advce about the early scan as could do with reassurance!

rozzyraspberry · 18/06/2007 12:08

Congratulations bubble and bluepanda!

leesmum · 18/06/2007 12:12

oh teejay sweetheart i really am so very sorry for you

Egg · 18/06/2007 12:15

gingermumi · 18/06/2007 12:25

Bubblesbabe - at least you don't have such a big gap as me! Have told my dds, they are really pleased and excited. The company I went to for scan are 'firstview', they were excellent - have pickies and a cd with pictures and video of heart beat. I don't know if they are a national company or just local to me (just off m27 if you live in/near to hampshire).

alkar · 18/06/2007 12:26

Am so sorry for you Teejay...there are no words.

I went for my '7 week' scan today and although there is a sac none of the nurses could see anything in it. I have to go for another scan next monday but we don't feel very hopeful. It's going to be a long week.
