Thanks for info.

Have found a multiway bra on jojo maman bebe that looks half decent and saw on another thread that H and M have good bras.

Re Chickenpox- I thought that there was a posibility of probs (somwhere in my dim memory i remembered it from last time) but doc seemed to think i need not worry. I did check this on net and found article that confirmed it, mind you could probably find one to contrary too. Will check with mw when i see her, but as lljkk says there's little i can do.

lljkk · 14/06/2007 19:24

Maybe "they" reckon it's only when mothers get severe bouts that the defects get caused. Adult first-time only bouts are usually severe, but yours is mild. The thing is, it sounds like the doc can't even be sure you do have CP.

gingermumi · 14/06/2007 19:37

True. He asked me to go back on monday so he could see the blisters again (woo!). I asked what else they could be and he said 'skin does funny things when you're pregnant'! Could be hormones - I think that's a standard answer when you're pg!

beansprout · 14/06/2007 19:45

I've been looking into this too as ds has suspected pox at the moment. If you have had it before, you don't have to worry but I agree that the pox + pregnancy = worrying mix.

Nothing much to report, but may just change my user name to knackered old pot bellied pig

knackeredoldpotbelliedpig · 14/06/2007 19:46

Cool!

gingermumi · 14/06/2007 19:51

Thanks guys.

Am knackered pot belly pig too! And i have a taste in my mouth like i've been sucking old spoons! Never had that before!

rozzyraspberry · 14/06/2007 19:52

Congratulations to K27 and Jo!

Gingermumi - I'm sorry you're having problems with your skin - doesn't sound too pleasant hopefully it won't last too long! I feel the same as you about maternity bras - I'm going to try and wait until 12 weeks before I get one. Mostly because my boobs haven't really changed much yet so if I get some now I know I'll grow out of them within a few weeks! I've got mine from M & S. They're quite reasonable which is good if you go up a few sizes throughout your pregnancy. I can't remember ever having particularly uncomfortable boobs though so if you do I guess you have to shop around a bit more.

I've managed to get an NHS dentist - I can't believe it. When we moved here 18 months ago I tried for ages with no luck. Phoned the NHS helpline today who said they didn't know of any in my area taking on new patients. So I phoned one just down the road on the off chance and they told me they were taking a limited number of NHS patients in August so I've transferred the whole family over! We've spent a fortune on dentist bills over the last 18 months since we had to go private so this will save us some money especially with my free treatments for the next 20 months .

Hope everyone is well!

rozzyraspberry · 14/06/2007 19:54

Just realised my post is a bit confusing - I've got my maternity bras from m & s in the past. Haven't bought any this time yet.

Also sorry about the long post!! Just so excited to have NHS dentist - sad I know but just soooo hard to get here!

manamana · 14/06/2007 19:56

fantastic beansprout, that's exactly how i feel!i put happy feet on for ds when we got back from nursery and i kept falling asleep which was really annoying him, he kep shouting at me and dragging me up to dance! gotta ring my mum now and tell her as mil already knows.

gingermumi · 14/06/2007 20:01

Don't apologise rozzy, got excited yesterday cos i found something that tastes good and doesn't make me feel sick - skips! (don't laugh). You're lucky - my boobs are huuuge and hurt like mad! Will have to give in soon on bra front (no pun intended). Have scan tomorrow so if all looking ok will prob go shopping at weekend

Those looking for info about homebirths - there's a programme on living2 at moment about homebirths - not sure if it's any use. I think it's on every night (?)

Good luck with your scan ginger - that's really exciting! Let us know how you get on.

gingermumi · 14/06/2007 20:11

Will do. It's not until the evening (it's a private scan) - tomorrow will be a very long day!

Jo9977 · 15/06/2007 10:58

Yes, all the best gingermumi, hope it goes well and you get to see stuff that reassures you.

Feeling ok at the moment, just tired, but having to hide it as work doesn't know yet and I'm a bit apprehensive about the fallout when they do...we're quite a small company!

CountTo10 · 15/06/2007 11:16

Hello, good to see everyone's ok albeit with various ailments!!! I'm suffering from being hot all the time at the moment which is annoying!! Sickness seems to be passing which is good, I'm getting into the whole little and often thing and that seems to be helping.

Gingermumi - i got my maternity bras from M&S - they're very plain but they're great support and I'm not in so much discomfort now!!!

Haven't got my scan appt through yet, Hope it doesn't take too much longer!

pobletsmum · 15/06/2007 13:58

Good afternoon. How are you all today?

DearB - even if you don't fancy anything, have you tried eating something like a digestive biscuit or a piece of toast. For me last time, the nausea was helped a lot by eating. I didn't feel like it at the time, but once I had eaten a few mouthfuls I felt so much better & was able to eat a whole meal. I hope you find something to help. It really isn't nice feeling sick, and if you're feeling unwell in other ways it will be even worse.

Ginger - I hope the scan goes well tonight. The wait is nearly over...

I saw my GP this morning, and I'm glad I did. She's going to refer me to the hospital so I should see a consultant when I go for my scan. Because she's sending my booking form off nice & early, I should get a scan at a reasonable time (there is apparently a scan backlog at the moment, and people are waiting till 14wks or so for 1st scan). I plan to tell most people after the 1st scan, so the sooner the better! I'm adjusting my date to 15th Feb.

Thanks ladies.
Feel absolutely yuk today.Have day off today so went to see my parents this morning, couldn't leave cos felt too sick. Think my mum loved having someone to poke food at and fuss over, she emptied contents of fridge in her efforts to get me to 'eat something... you'll feel better'! My dad scuttled off somewhere and reappeared when he was sure i would heave in the sink bowl!

After toast and marmite (apart from skips, a bit of a favourite at the mo - dh had to make me some at 1.30am last night!)I left and came home and went to sleep. Had so much planned and have done nothing. Have to collect dd2 soon so had better go and at least stack the dishwasher.

Willl let you know about scan letr or tomorrow.

gingermumi · 15/06/2007 14:20

That should read 'WOULDN'T heave in the sink...' - meant to preview it first and pressed wrong button! Am soooo pants today!

Congratulations smallwhitecat! You will definitely have your hands full won't you. I have 23 months between my 2 so a bigger gap than you'll have. Although it's quite hard when they're little when they're close together in age I think it's easier in the long run as they keep each other occupied. Also you shouldn't have any jealousy issues when number 2 arrives.

I'm sorry a few of you aren't feeling too good today. I second what pobletsmum said about eating little and often. That's certainly helped me in the past. The sickness isn't bothering me too much at the moment, it's the constant dizziness that's getting to me more. I'm also still really grumpy! DH has taken DC outside to play to escape my wrath!!!
