dunno which

you don't need omega 6, you'll get lots of that from your diet anyway. you need omega 3 FISH OILS. but not cod liver oil

um...i must say i'd be suprised if the amount of mercury in a tiny capsule made any difference at all but...

personally i just eat the fish but hey.

teejay · 10/06/2007 10:30

morning all, still feeling fine and no more spots, all your thoughts make me feel alot better- i thought it could be implantation but I thought that was 7-10 days after conception . Anyway I'm trying to put it out of my mind. I've got a big family dinner for mil's birthday today(so much for putting my feet up!) My partners sister had her first at 44 last year-I really want to question her about how she coped with the pregnancy etc but I really must wait.
ds wet the bed at 3.30am as well so not much sleep-but does give me the excuse when I crash after lunch.

CountTo10 · 10/06/2007 19:13

Well I have spent the afternoon weaving my way round a soft play centre!!! It did make me wonder how I'm going to cope with things like that when I resemble a hippo!!! So hot today as well!!! Think I've overdone it over the weekend as I've had a lot of aching and stretching so sat on the sofa with my feet up now!! Hope everyone's ok today.

loonyballoony · 10/06/2007 20:39

Evening ladies! Hope everyone is OK today, just a quick note to say I hope all goes well with everyone and I will hopefully speak in a weeks time after my lovely Centerparcs break. Sooooo looking forward to that!

Egg · 11/06/2007 07:13

Morning ladies. CountTo10, I wonder the same thing at soft play, but I always see loads of pregnant ladies in there who seem to survive...

Teejay glad everything has been ok over the weekend, good luck with the GP today and especially good luck if you do end up going for an early scan.

lljkk - good work on the list! Can't believe how many are due on 1 Feb. Quite a few of us could end up having Jan babies. When DS was born in 2006 we had two friends in our ante natal class who had boys on 28 Feb and 1 March, so a shame it wasn't a leap year then or we would have got one on 29 Feb! Think it would be really special.

Loony - have a fabulous holiday, am very , hope you have a lovely relaxing time.

DearBeatrice · 11/06/2007 08:38

hi girls . george was good fun on saturday and wembley was fab facilities - no queues for loos where i was sitting and easy to get in / out of stadium. sadly no andrew ridgeley ..

y/day sickness kicked in with a vengeance for me and woke up with it today too - face feels like i've blown up a balloon and stomach queasy -

how is everyone else? teejay, any more spotting? hope not..

bought two long tshirt tops and a pair of cut off linen trousers in new look y/day - feel nice and cool and just hope i don't look like i'm in maternity wear yet as dont want to tell anyone till 12 weeks :-)

teejay · 11/06/2007 09:52

good weekend- doctors at 5 tonight, fingers crossed.
wish I was going to centreparcs...

manamana · 11/06/2007 13:10

hello everyone, finding it tricky to keep up, you're all so chatty so apologies for not responding properly to the various conversations.
Am now 'settling in' to the idea that i am pregnant. Have now done 3 tests, all positive and have since seen the pics on that crazy 2ww site and am convinced!
All seems a bit daunting though. Feeling bit wobbly/dizzy but have also recently had labyrinthitis so not sure its not still that. But hormones have kicked in good and proper, was in tears watching ou8r chap win the grand prix and i really have NO interest at all in the spot, followed that with tears galore during simon cowell's new 'Britain's got talent' show. dh is a bit depressed about prospect of living wih this mad woman for next 8 months.
have made appt to see gp in 2 weeks, bit concerned about how its all going to work as we are hoping to move next month and i don't want t get lost between to health authority areas.
Anyway, hope those of you suffering with sickness are not feeling too bad today.

teejay · 11/06/2007 13:27

hiya manamana,
I keep forgetting I'm pregnant for a a period then remembering with a real start- now whether that's pregnancy brain or just old age I cant tell.

manamana · 11/06/2007 13:52

lets go for pregancy brain!
I'm struggling with keeping it a secret, just all seems so different this time round. We kept it secret last time until 12 weeks, this time i am 4weeks+3 and already 2 friends and my mil know! Dh travels a lot and I work 4 days so am too knackered with looking after ds to keep up the pretence! But seems like i am tempting fate BIG TIME.

teejay · 11/06/2007 13:56

not at all, its so difficult keeping it a secret- I always feel I'm lying to people - although I'm not really. I know some who think its better to tell straight away - then if the worst happens people can be more sympathetic.
It's too exciting to keep all to yourself- which makes sites like this just perfect!
I've told one of my best friends who I work with and take the kids out with- Its useful if you need people deflected from asking too many questions

manamana · 11/06/2007 14:09

meant to say, good luck at the drs tonight - hope all goes well.

rozzyraspberry · 11/06/2007 15:14

Yes goodluck teejay - I'm sure it's all fine though.

Manamana - I'm glad someone else is feeling wobbly. For the last few days I have felt like my head is filled with cotton wool and my legs are like lead. Whenever I bend over or stand up I feel really dizzy. I've never had this with either of my other pregnancies. Around 2 in the afternoon I just feel like sleeping and the sickness is really kicking in now too which is earlier than I'd expected it to.

It's depressing to think we've probably got a least another 7 weeks of this before we get to the nicer 2nd trimester!

beansprout · 11/06/2007 15:25

Good luck teejay - let us know how you get on.

Am feeling pretty rough here too. And so hormonal. I can't watch anything on the tv without sobbing my heart out. Ahem.

manamana · 11/06/2007 15:31

ah, this is why i LOVE mnet. Just logged on to start a message about dizziness and looked at this one first and Rozzy you have deszcribed how i feel perfectly! I was starting to worry that it might be something more sinister, or that i still have labyrinthitis which i had about 3 weeks ago and kept me off work for 2 weeks (but not off bding heheheh, just kept my head v still!!!!).

rozzyraspberry · 11/06/2007 16:42

I'm glad someone else feels the same manamana. You hear about the morning sickness and sore nipples etc but dizziness I've never really heard of before.

As for hormones - I wish mine were making me crying emotional. I'm just turning into the pregnant bitch from hell at the moment. I am so irritable especially with DH and poor DC. Hopefully it'll pass soon!!!

Sam38 · 11/06/2007 17:46

Congrats to everyone, I'm due 4 february and am absolutely petrified as this is my first. I'm constantly surfing the internet for information and driving myself nuts with all the possible complications. Am i normal? I feel totally stressed out and although I am delighted at being pregnant, I feel the experience is being hampered by negative thoughts. Any advise would be appreciated. I am 38 and feel this may be my last chance so maybe I am setting myself up for a fall or just being realistic or making sure I am informed. I am a nervous wreck, any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

beansprout · 11/06/2007 17:57

Sam, first of all, congratulations and secondly, how you feel is entirely normal but you will also know, deep down, that to worry, isn't going to do you any good and is not some sort of insurance policy. This first trimester is an anxious time but all you can do is look after yourself, perhaps distract yourself and just let the weeks roll by...! Welcome to the thread!!

rozzyraspberry · 11/06/2007 18:04

Congratulations Sam!

I think this is probably the most worrying time for all of us - waiting for that first scan and hoping everything is ok. We don't have the evidence of a growing bump, baby movements or regular checkups to reassure us. Don't worry if your symptoms are different to what you read on the internet everybody and every pregnancy is different.

The only advice I would have would be to try to relax a bit (difficult I know)! 38 is not old at all to be having a baby! You'll probably find that when you go to antenatal groups or hospital appointments that their are plenty of others the same age and older than you.

Hungrymama · 11/06/2007 19:10

If it's not too late to join in, I'm due Feb 18th ish - noone's given me a date really but I worked it out with a chart in my ancient Miriam Stoppard book! I have one DD 4 1/2 yrs, so this one's been a long time coming. Here's hoping it stays the course ....

rozzyraspberry · 11/06/2007 19:14

Just saw your other post hungrymama - congratulations to you!!

Hungrymama · 11/06/2007 19:16

Thank you raspberry xxx
It's a relief to be able to come and let off some steam on mn - otherwise it's either like this huge secret that's going to make you implode any second (which you've got to hold onto for another 8 weeks!) [about to implode face] OR I just sort of go into denial and pretend it's not happening. Either way I am wishing the time away but I have never known the hours go so slooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwlllllllly!

rozzyraspberry · 11/06/2007 19:30

I know what you mean!! I have never managed to keep it completely secret until 12 weeks in my previous 2 pregnancies. However, I'd like to tell dc first and once I tell ds1 (who's 4 1/2) the whole world will know! Saying that I must confess that I told my mum on Saturday after falling asleep on her sofa in the afternoon! Like others said on your other thread there are people who you would tell if anything went wrong so I don't really see any problem with telling those people. It is a really exciting time but will seem more real once we've had our first scans!

Hungrymama · 11/06/2007 19:34

Because I had fertility treatment I get a seven week scan so not too long to wait . All the same not so sure what there'll be to see so early on! I guess they'll be looking for how MANY there are - a topic I don't even want to consider!!! . My DD is 4 1/2 and would also tell the world so will have to wait until at least 13 wk scan before we share the news with her!
I think it's extra wierd at the moment because I have no symptoms. The odd emotional outburst (nothing really new there though!) but that's about it. First time round I don't think I felt anything until around wk 7. Seems AGES away!

Egg · 11/06/2007 19:45

Oh new members! Congrats Sam and Hungry! Lovely to have you on the thread. Agree this is a very scary and worrying time but I feel better now at 6 weeks and less worried, no idea why as I know things can go wrong but having had a couple of weeks to get used to being pg is helping.

I am emotional and the bitch from hell. I cry at everything (like when DS drops his food on the floor on purpose) and I am shouting at poor DS quite a lot. I made a concerted effort to be extra lovely to him this afternoon and he was extra lovely back, so I think I need to stop getting het up and he will be better behaved... (she says hopefully).
