Hi everyone. Exhaustion really starting to kick in, I am just feeling tired all the time at the moment. Poor ds was really fobbed off yesterday afternoon with CBeebies, which isn't something I normally do, but boy did it make life easier. I have to give myself permission not just do what I need to do (advice I gave to Fillyjonk on another thread!) and not give myself a hard time.

Counto10 - Afraid I am not impressed with what your friends did. There are more important things in life than bridesmaid's dresses. It always amazes me just how hung up on this stuff people get. I was put on the spot by someone this week and it's horrible. If I wanted to tell them I would. Being pregnant is not just a bit of gossip, it's a bit more than that and I hate it being treated as such.

Leesmum - I completely agree with you. I ended up with an emergency c-section and felt I had failed in my duty to give birth for months. I hear it's all a bit easier (in some respects!) second time around - roll on that!!

DB - I haven't had those pains but I have heard of them and don't recall that they signal a problem. Hopefully someone who knows a bit more will be along soon.

Hi to everyone else. What a long post - time to go the park!!

fillyjonk · 09/06/2007 09:13

oh countto10 how HORRIBLE

thats not ok

leesmum · 09/06/2007 09:28

dear CountTo10 maybe your friends didn't mean to be quite so inconsiderate, but if they say anything like that again then i'd tell them to sod off!!p.s but dont let yourself worry about it x

teejay · 09/06/2007 09:30

been working and exhausted, yesterday I had a very slight show and few pains so feeling a bit low and weepy. Going to take it easy over the weekend, got my doctors appt Monday so will get checked out then

leesmum · 09/06/2007 09:36

teejay i'm sure everything is ok. Take care and put your feet up over weekend

teejay · 09/06/2007 09:38

thanks leesmum- i will

fillyjonk · 09/06/2007 09:40

aww teejay

ok when you say "show" was there blood or not? sorry but thats relevant

if NOT then tbh mucus and pains "down there" really are part and parcel of it all, IME. Your uterus is constantly stretching and so there will be twinges.

If there is blood, I'd consider calling nhs direct or your gp, they might get you in for a scan if you're lucky.

leesmum · 09/06/2007 09:52

dearBeatrice are you off to see George tonight? let me now how it goes. if you see him tell him our baby is due in febhave a great time

Slacker · 09/06/2007 10:31

Teejay - hope you're ok, if it helps when I started bleeding with my last two pgs it was pretty obvious that there was something wrong, if you just spotted a bit that's very common and probably nothing to worry about. But do take it easy over the weekend.

Countto10 - I agree with everyone else that your friends were out of order, as if bloody bridesmaid dresses are more important than a baby! Idiots!

And Beansprout - I'm still bfing DD and she'll be 4 next month! Only once a day, before bed, but she's not ready to give it up and why on earth should she. Just because it's not the cultural norm in our society....it's no business of anyone other than the mother and child how long they continue bfing. When I was pg with her I was still bfing DS3 who was 2.5 and I persuaded him to wean after a few months as I was so sore, but you go on as long as you're comfortable.

Still feeling pretty good but just a little queasy, will be 6 weeks tomorrow. One pregnancy I didn't start feeling rotten till 8 weeks (although my dates may have been a bit out) but every other time I've felt sick from about this point.

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend

DearBeatrice · 09/06/2007 10:54

hi girls

Teejay, don't worry, sounds like you're tired - think we've all hit a bit of a exhaustion point by end of this week. Rest up and am sure your spotting is just that and it won't mean anything more

leesmum lol i'll tell him you're waiting for him. am hoping the wembley loos' are not too full, clean and near my seat as i can barely go 25 mins at the mo withut having to go again

no more sharp pains up inside today

have a fab day everyone

lljkk · 09/06/2007 11:15

May I join the club? .

Due early Feb.
I think I have lots of subtle symptoms, greater sense of smell and taste, more tired, excess savliva (yuck), occasional spell of nausea, more clumsy, more sex drive (that's a nice one, never had that in pregnncy before!).

Can still wear tight jeans, too, yeah!! But I know it won't last. I am trying to enjoy food more than ever because in a couple of weeks everything will be making me sick.

lljkk · 09/06/2007 11:16

I think EDD=7 Feb. Already have DS7, DD5, DS3.

teejay · 09/06/2007 11:30

thanks for your messages, it was bloodstained discharge- not much but enough to make your heart start beating fast. Its stopped after a hour or so -and the cramps laid off at the same time. now I'm overconscious - they feel like pre period pains
never mind- we'll just wait and see

Egg · 09/06/2007 14:24

Teejay hope you are ok and no more spotting. I had that last time and it was basically just dark brown discharge twice, but got me terrified. I ended up having an early scan and all was well. Trouble is also, once that has put the fear in you, you notice any pain a lot more as well. Fingers crossed it is nothing but good that you are seeing your GP on Monday anyway so can hopefully get some reassurance.

Welcome to lljkk too! Congrats on your BFP. There are quite a few ladies on this thread who are on their fourth or fifth child I think!

Been spending today removing all traces of vomit from DS's car seat. It has not been fun. DS has hidden my travel sickness bands too .

DearBeatrice. I have had those pains before although not in pregnancy I dont think. I used to get them a lot and think they are harmless, although no idea what they are!

Finally, CountTo10. I would not worry about your so called friends. I can imagine if you told them you are pregnant they wouldn't worry about bridesmaids dresses etc, but as they think you aren't, they probably think it is ok to say how inconvenient it would be... I could maybe understand if you told your friend you were due on her wedding day, now that might change things a bit...

fillyjonk · 09/06/2007 14:43

aww teejay can see why you're worried, though it sounds prob quite minor. I had LOTS more than that both times and carried to term both times.

BUT I did, in the circumstances, get a scan. If you wanted to put your mind at rest, I'd consider going to your doctor and explaining the situation. Or calling NHS direct.

gingermumi · 09/06/2007 17:42

Hi, have been a bit busy! Welcome and congrats to manaman, pobletsmum and lljkk. Feeling hot 'n tired and have started to feel sick. Seems to start around 11 am- which is a bit wierd. Have also had some pains over the last few days, have to say it is a bit of a worry (i'm good at that!).

Manamana- did you have your first baby at St Richards? I have chosen them over Portsmouth as they have better screening facilities (our practice gives you a choice)- was it really awful?

teejay · 09/06/2007 18:21

thanks again everyone for the thoughts, It does seem to have stopped but still in the back of my mind. I'll just wait til Monday
I had to take ds to a birthday party this afternoon and my friend said 'have you lost weight' I misheard it have your gained weight and spluttered and went red- luckily she realised I'd misheared and thought I was embarrassed by her rudeness.
Its very odd - my first was an unexpected occurrance so I spent the first 6-8 weeks in terrifed denial- desperately knicker watching for my period, this time its the opposite!

rozzyraspberry · 09/06/2007 19:57

Hi to lljkk. I too have no problems getting into my normal clothes but am sure it'll not last for too long!

Teejay - hope you're ok. About a week before my period was due I had a bit of discharge. It wasn't bright red blood but everytime I went to the loo and wiped (sorry tmi) it was like pink feathery bits. Lasted a couple of days for me. I also had period type pains. I think this is the egg implanting itself into the uterus. It was what made me think I was pregnant actually but had to wait a few days before I could test. Could be the same sort of thing for you? I know that mucusy discharges and period pains are really common in pregnancy so try not to worry too much! However, could be good excuse to get early scan to set your mind at rest!!

I felt fine this morning so got up and did some exercise but have been exhausted ever since. The is the first day I've been feeling really tired - fell asleep on my mums sofa - only to be woken up when ds2 poohed in his pants (still trying to potty train!!)

Yes there are lots of mums having 4th and 5th babies on this thread. I'm really glad as I feel a lot more relaxed about having my third . It's good there are such a mix!!

CountTo10 · 09/06/2007 21:13

Hello, and hope everyone's enjoying their weekend!! Welcome to all new people. I'll attach the stats at the bottom so we make sure everyone is added in.

Teejay, hope you're ok. I've not had this but my bf did with her last pg and she was fine, think it was implantation bleeding but just as worrying never the less. Hope you're getting lots of fuss and cuddles.

I had my first tears today but it was actually quite funny. Ds likes Hi-5 and we were singing along this morning and doing the dance and he just looked so cute that I ended up in tears wondering how he'll cope with a new baby and whether he'll think we're replacing him or not!!!

beansprout · 09/06/2007 21:16

Welcome to the newbies!!

teejay - I had the same with ds, it was scary but everything was fine. Do ask for a scan if you need reassuring though.

Have been v tired today and more than a little hormonal. You name it, I cry at it!

CountTo10 · 09/06/2007 21:34

Snap on the tiredness. I think I have that sleep disorder thing. One minute I;m fine, then I discover I've been asleep for an hour

loonyballoony · 09/06/2007 21:44

LOL Countto10 at your maternity bras!! I've just spent an hour sorting through bras, trying them on and discarding what's just madness at the moment. Haven't dug my maternity bras out yet, but will do soon. First time in ages today when I had a midday nap, which was lovely then hormones got the better of me and I spent ages tidying and cleaning
Hope everyone is a bit better this weekend and no scary spotting. I had little bit of that with my dd and you just become so aware of any little twinge and you keep on inspecting your undies (sorry TMI )

CountTo10 · 09/06/2007 22:39

Whoops just ate through a medium size bar of galaxy - it barely touched the sides!!! No wonder my clothes aren't fitting . Anyway off to grab some sleep x

lljkk · 10/06/2007 07:57

Fish oils, fillyjonk(?): WHICH one?
From what I read it should be a minimal mercury one, specially formulated for preggos or low in Vit. A anyway, and high in (DHA+EPA)=Omega 3 (because Omega 6 interferes with Omega3?)... but otherwise... which pill?? So many choices! I have "MorEPA" at the moment, but it's quite dear.

Maybe I'll just eat lots of fresh walnuts instead....

I'm going to be a fossy cow and update the list to include a few people, and I put it in date order. Wouldn't it be cool to be due in late Feb and have baby born on 29 Feb 2008?
