Hi
How's everyone doing?
I've not been on for a while (2 whole threads ago!)

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/05/2007 16:29

hullo DKMAFE... how things?

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 16:40

Was trying to find this and my computer crashed......this should quash the rumours!!

Hi DKMA.....where ya been and how's it going...has bub turned head down yet?

OP posts:
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 21/05/2007 16:58

Oh I'm ok - ya know......
Feelin much better now the bubs head is now 'DOWN' - I think he'd given up on trying to break my ribs!!
Got an apt with consultant on Friday to discuss 'mode of delivery' - should be interesting.

How's the house move going Natty?

Is everyone keeping their chin up (or if like me - keeping their chin's up as I now have about 3!)

I now know what it means for time to drag on!! These next few weeks will feel like a lifetime - I'm sure!

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 17:01

Woo Hoo.....your bump will have changed shape!!

I'm booked in for an elective on the 5th if I haven't gone myself before then. I thought it would be the best option as I don;t want to go through hours of labour only to need another section anyway......and that's two weeks tomorrow...aaaaaarrrrrghhhhh

OP posts:
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 21/05/2007 17:09

I know!

I actually look pregnant now - and not just fat!!

2 freekin weeks Daisy!!!! OMG!
It must be lovely to know when it's going to happen - and to be able to make plans.

Lots of people are telling me how great elective cs's are. More relaxing, more aware of you're little one entering the world. Also LO is all perfect looking due to not having to mangle itself through the birth canal. I like the idea also that for those first photo's you'll not be all sweaty and exhausted looking! You can have a full face of slap on - lip gloss and all!

Can you tell that I have been trying to sell the idea to myself - in case the consultant tells me on Friday that I will need a CS!!??

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 17:12

no such luck......the info sheet I got from the hospital says definately no slap!!

Mars sent me some info on birth plans for elective c-sections...do you want a copy of it? if so, e-mail me (see a few posts further down...) and I'll send you a copy!

Just made meatballs and spag for dinner - it is delic (LOVE Annabel Karmel... sometimes) so if the LOs don't eat it all, that will be DH and my dinner . Time for the test - T&G on their way downstairs...

Neils Yard have an online store for those of you who don't have one on your doorstep (there's a great on in the village that even does massages) here .

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 21/05/2007 17:28

Daisy - I've just emailed you for that info sheet - ta!

Annobal - I've just done a big order on the Neals Yard website - it's great! There are shops near me but now I'm at walking like a weeble - I'm loving home delivery!!!

foxybrown · 21/05/2007 17:29

Oh Annobel, you put me to shame! I opened a packet of meatballs, a packet of sauce and boiled some spag

But I got a rest with DD for 20 mins

annobal · 21/05/2007 17:50

Believe me, Foxy, it is not often that T&G get anything more complicated than meat and 2 veg.

fatsuitgirl · 21/05/2007 17:58

Hello people!

Sorry I havne't been around for what feels like ages (and from the looks of things, several threads...!). Have had horrible cold which had me in bed for days and am still feeling v. groggy.

Bumper, thanks for your email which I just got... nice to be missed!

Sounds like everyone's got various aches and pains, so wishing everyone happy healthy pain-free vibes and am now sloping off to have a bath

annobal · 21/05/2007 18:01

LOL at the name change!

foxybrown · 21/05/2007 18:28

Am glad you are back with us FSG - LOL at the name!

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 18:41

Hi FSG......no baby then? We all thought for a minute you'd popped early and were too busy! Hope you're feeling better though.

If you want a text buddy (for labour alerts etc) you can e-mail Holly with your mobile number and she'll fix you up.

Derlor...I tried the glass of wine and 2 co-codamol last night, and still woke up after an hour and a bloody half.....feeling sick as well as uncomfortable, but I think the anti-biotics I'm on are playing havoc with my digestion...my heartburn has heartburn FGS...and had to resort to sleeping sitting up which pressed on my sciatic nerve...yada yada yada....will this never end!!!!!

anyway....gotta go and administer to poor sickly DS..he's got a chest infection and was doing OK, but in true man flu fashion, now he's seen the doc and its official and he has medicine, he's lying on the sofa in a woe is me kind of stylee . Nature over nurture every bloody time!!

Happy Birthday Holly & Alice !!!!

Love the name change FSG!!

Been a busy day again - where does the time go?? Been to hospital for monitoring again today on the CTG thingy. All ok, which is a relief as bean has been particularly quiet today. Probably going to be best part of the day at hospital on wed - blood test for OC levels again, ctg monitoring, scan - growth, liquid volume and doppler and cosultant appointment. The consultant should be able to give me a clearer picture (hopefully) of their plans, as all I know is that I will def have baby before/around 38 weeks (am 34+3 today) to avoid the increased risk after 38 weeks of a stillborn. That said at least its been picked up and they are monitoring me closely.
Glad to hear you had the all clear Tallulahbelle, sorry to have worried you, but at least you know and don't have to worry.

The good news is that my DPs are back from Italy (after fab time not a million miles from Sputnik and have visited some of her recommended places!) SO I feel better knowing that Mum is not far away if I need her.

Hope all are well and will try and get back on tomorrow.

annobal · 21/05/2007 19:07

That's good news SFL - glad all is well. It is a worry when the LOs are quiet... Also good to have your DPs back - nothing quite like having your mum around at times like this.

OMG has anyone seen the tv line-up tonight - there is NOTHING ON - my life has become THAT boring

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 19:11

Ha Annobal...you'll just have to stay chatting to us on here. I'm to say that I've negelcted all my fave programmes recently in favour of MN....

OP posts:
foxybrown · 21/05/2007 19:12

SFL - am glad they are monitoring you so closely. Its still shite, but at least they are watching you. Don't suppose you'll be getting your homebirth now

DKMAFME - hello. You've been quiet lately!

I'm signing off now. Fish and chips for tea and bed. Am that tired!

Sleep well all, catch up tomorrow xx

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 19:17

Sorry SFL...didn't mean to ignore you. Its good that they're keeping a close eye on you, and that they'll monitor the situation closely, whilst trying to keep bub in there as long as possible. I suppose the upside is that you won't have all the terminal waiting around going post-dates etc and that you'll have your LO sooner than you thought.

It's also great that your DPs are back...a girl needs her mum at a time like this. My mum and I don't have a particularly close relationship, but when told I'd need a c-section with DS, I didn't want to let them do it until my mum got there....they talked me around eventually (it would have taken her more than an hour to get there!), but I'd been so upset about it that they let her in to see me on the ward afterwards, even though it was well past visiting hours.

Night Foxy. Fish and chips sound very tempting - DH currently heating up meatballs to add to spag.

LOL Daisy - I may even have to read a book

annobal · 21/05/2007 19:21

Sorry - x-post - obviously not at your DM or emergency CS blush]

DaisysGotABigBump · 21/05/2007 19:32

Having spent the weekend in bed, I heartily recommend any pulp trashy novel you can get your hands on.....I went to the charity shop today and stocked up on rubbish. I tried reading something a bit intellectual last week and couldn't remember from one page to the next what was going on.....PG mushy brain and intellectual novels just don't go well together!

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/05/2007 19:33
