PMSL on my ball Foxy!!!!

So does it eventually go back to some sort of normal shape?

How do you hide it? what do you wear?

derlor · 22/05/2007 19:43

i kind of still looked pg for a few days but my stomach was all wobbly instead of hard - if you BF then you will feel your womb contracting back into shape when the LO is feeding and although this is a bit uncomfortable it is also quite pleasurable to get a fre and easy sotmach work out while you sit on your ass!!!
unless you were very skinny to start with you will probably have a bit of a wobbly stomach for a while and may be most comfy in your maternity clothes to begin with - everyone is different i've been REALLY licky and been back in my own clothes within 2 weeks - some people can do thie faster and some women never make it back into pre pregnancy size!

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:44

Good question DKMA. It is actually quite funny straight after the birth as it is just like jelly (make sure you feel it as it is really odd). You then end up with a monstrosity of spare flesh around your middle that will eventually shrink but will never, ever be the same again

derlor · 22/05/2007 19:46

oh how bad is my typing tonight i meant free, stomach and lucky not fre, sotmach and licky!!

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:46

Oh - and what to wear - anything comfortable, including maternity clothes for a while.

derlor · 22/05/2007 19:47

has anyone else ever had phantom baby kicks after delivery and even months/years later???? it is weird.

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:50

Have to say that I haven't ever experienced that Derlor! A friend was having flashbacks to the birth for a while whenever she fell asleep (the pain part)

DaisysGotABigBump · 22/05/2007 19:51

I'm hoping now Derlor that what I'm getting now is phantom baby kicks and I'll wake up tomorrow and it'll all have been a horrible dream

Delor - thats one of my main reasons for BF'ing! Forget all the hype and bollocks - if it burns calories and shrinks my uterus then sign me up!!!

Not liking the continuous use of the word 'flesh' here!! Oh god - am hoping new baby will keep me so busy that I wont have time to look in the mirror and vom up at my disgusting self!?

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:51

LOL Daisy

derlor · 22/05/2007 19:52

You could always order one of these for leaving hospital in

DaisysGotABigBump · 22/05/2007 19:52

you'll be too smitten with your LO DKMA that you won't really care

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:53

Funny thing is, DKMA, is that you are so much smaller that what you were that you don't really feel like that...

annobal · 22/05/2007 19:54

Oooh - gonna get me some of those boots...

DaisysGotABigBump · 22/05/2007 19:56

Derlor...to answer your earlier question....had a mixed day. I think I've done well considering DS has been alternately poorly and whinging or crazy and manic....and I only got 5 hours sleep in total last night. I did lose it with him at bedtime as he wouldn't tidy up his toys and then we had a fight over teeth cleaning so he was sent off to bed without the next installment of Adolphus Tips (great book btw). Been feeling a bit crap this evening, but it's been a vast improvement on receent days, so...

I'm not sur who Natty is officially temed up weith as a text buddy, but she has my mobile number and e-mail and said she'd be in touch if anything happened. I've just checked the inbox on my phone and nothing...no dubt she's just putting Thomas to bed and will be along shortly! she loses her internet connection at the old house tomorrow.....

Unless Daisy, she is just to darn busy giving birth to contact you/us?????? you'd think she'd manage a quick email/text in between contractions though wouldn't you - i mean come on Natty!!!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 22/05/2007 20:01

Hey i think that outfit i linked to looks very practical for BF in!!!

derlor · 22/05/2007 20:04

perhaps midwives should be made to wear it as a uniform in order to promote BF?!?!?!

annobal · 22/05/2007 20:06

Good point - good colour for bf too...

hollyandalice · 22/05/2007 20:19

Evening everyone!! I stayed at my parents' last night and sunday, but am back home now. Dp is away for the week, so am lonely now! From now on I am not leaving my pc! There are far too many posts on here for me to catch up on, but I think I have the general gist!

Derlor, hope your little man is feeling better, it must have been horrible for you to see him so poorly !!

Lilkel, glad you are better and out of hosp! Not long to go now!!

Re. Bfing, I haven't even bought any bottles or a steriliser! Oops! With dd I was mixed feeding for the first few days as bfing was a real struggle and I don't want to do that with this one. So hopefully bfing will come more naturally this time, after all it has been less than a year since I stopped bfing dd.

Sorry if I've missed anything or anyone! ((((HUGS))) to everyone who has been feeling shit over the past few days.

notsolilKel · 22/05/2007 20:19

Natty Natty where are you...???

absolutely PMSL at the 'going home outfit' you have selected. Really. Top marks!!!

Re post-mat clothes: I lived in thin floaty tops for the first few months. Ones which tied under the bust and left a lot of room for the wiggly bit round the tum. And yes, at first you don't care, which is good, because it is revolting!!!

BadZelda · 22/05/2007 20:28

Hey there. I'm Natty's text buddy - so will let you know immediately if I get any messages - but none so far.

Hope everybody else got lovely sunny days today - took DD to the playground this afternoon and the sandpit was scortching. Can't wait till they fill up the open air paddling pool.
