Awh, Befnal... Lauren is lovely.

Sumsey this thread in childbirth is about induction and how long people are willing to go overdue. It's got some good tips about natural induction, if you're wanting to avoid the CS. You can decide if you want it and insist on regular monitoring instead. Don't know the details about your pg though, if you've had any problems, but the thread is prob worth a read.

LG&T - I'm not even overdue (yet) and I'm in a strop! Hehehe. Poor you. x

largeginandtonic · 18/05/2007 16:58

OHMIGOD i just saw the piccie of Befnals baby! She is such a cutie, called in ds#3 and dh to see. I WANT ONE!!!!!

Im still leaking jelly and having twinges but nothin concrete. FFS 5 days late, i cant believe it.

You all sound in good spirits though, probably cos most of you have had your lovely babies or are not even due yet [

TYG is going to beat me i just know it, dh was laughing out loud in the assembly this morning at my potential fury if TYG made it first Of course i want you to have your baby on time TYG and not go theough the agony of being overdue but i doooo think it is only fair we do it together

Im having a pint of Kronenburg Blanc, i neeeed it. We are also having indian later, the pizza hut did nothing or the trek round tesco after, or the hike up to school. I will be too knackered for Labour later! Noooooo not really baby, please come out.

DH tried a bit of nipple stim this morning while i was straightening my hair, he got told politely to "get off" then tried again and i shouted "GET OFF". It is not pleasent at the moment

largeginandtonic · 18/05/2007 17:03

Pebble DH has bought the kids some RED JELLYBAFF should i be very afraid? I seem to remember you saying it was awful stuff. I have told him it is all up to him

twelveyeargap · 18/05/2007 17:25

Oh God, LG&T. Hope N knows what he's in for at bath time. I've seen whole threads about how awful that stuff is! Leave the house!

scootermum · 18/05/2007 17:47

I got some for my nephew for Christmas..I was not thanked by my sister..

Dont worry TYG..Sure no one reads my posts either, but then I do rattle on a bit..sorry for missing your one before though..

Lauren is adorable BB...just soooo cute...

Oh dear largegandt..I wish this baby would come for you, I really do...

Well it was lovely to meet MadeinDevon..she is so nice and looks absolutely great!..Had the obligatory Caramel McF on way home and am now in process of hiding a few things I may have bought whilst out, before DH gets back and goes mental..thing is when Ive time on my hands I do tend to shop slightly...and last time I had feck all to wear after birth except joggy pants for weeks, so thought would get myself a dress and a few tops that will be forgiving of my post partum figure but still look ok..otherwise will just get depressed because I look like a sack of 'taters..so its an investment really..an investment in my mental health.....yup, better find a good hiding place..

Nothing at all to eat for dinner in the house...so will have to go to Tescos..whats everyone else having as dont know what I fancy..that beer is tempting though largegandt..mmm mmm

madeindevon2 · 18/05/2007 18:14

lovely to meet you too scooter. and you look fab! if anyone is puffy its me!
weather has turned grim again....raining AGAIN..will prob get a call from dh to pick him up from station any minute..
redinner inspirations....sry i havent got any! ive not been food shopping so we're gonna have a takeaway curry for dinner...pineapple for afters....
have a good weekend one and all! come on babies!!

Pebblemum · 18/05/2007 18:22

LG&T, that jelly baff is the most horrid thing ever, the kids will love it though. Imagine coloured wallpaper paste and you will understand what i mean, even when its been diluted back to basic coloured water it still leaves a pastey residue on evrything including the kids (they will probably need a shower afterwards to rinse it all off lol and N will have great fun washing down the bath )

If i was you i would stay well clear when its bathtime (ive packed a box of jellybaff in the boys overnight bag for when they stay with MIL while im in labour lol that will teach her )

BB Lauren is gorgeous and that outfit is great

Well im still here, only little niggles today although my bump keeps going very hard which is a horrible feeling. Dh took me to the Carvery for dinner again At £5.25 each you cant go wrong can you? plus it took my mind off of all the false labour ive been having. I may moan about him but he can be nice sometimes

RedKennedy · 18/05/2007 18:33

hello lovely ladies, popping me head roud the door again like a prodigal mum... have managed to read todays thread, and just wanted to say Im always about but never get a chance to join in as everyones so chatty and I never feel like Ive caught up enough - so today I thought sod it - Im just going to barge in with my size 6's and give everyone my love and say WHERE THE BLOODY HELL ARE OUR BABIES!Im due tomorrow, but there is no chance thats happening, child is still up somewhere around my shoulders, and feels like its skipping double dutch in there. I keep willing it to calm down a bit and concentrate on the job ahead, but I cant see that occuring any time in the forseeable.. Still cant believe its May and we are top of the pile now and give or take 2 weeks im going to have a lickle chile to love and cherish. I hope you are all loving it as much as I have been.. im also at that stage of very tense BHs all night and starting to wonder to myself, are they actually contractions? am I missing it? am i leaving this too late? Im pretty sure though that will read this back in a month and laugh my tits off at that comment thinking - you dont know what PAIN IS!

twelveyeargap · 18/05/2007 19:17

Ah, I was wondering if anyone else was due tomorrow RK. Great to hear from you. Keep us posted.

Gingerbear · 18/05/2007 19:22

Had hospital appointment today.
Stupid bloody registrar put the frighteners on me saying that my platelet count was too low and I would have to come in to be induced. Erm, hello... VBAC here - risk of scar rupture etc. I gave a hard stare and said no thanks, I do not want to be induced.
Anyway, after a lengthy discussion, another blood test and a quiet word with the consultant, who shook her head and said that falling platelet levels during pregnancy was NORMAL and only to worry if they go below 100 (mine were 115 last week, 118 today). She has advised another blood test next week and a VE next Friday to check my cervix. If the Bishops score is OK, they MAY do ARM, but that would be the only type of induction they would consider.

Low platelets could cause a problem during delivery if there was a heavy blood loss - not enough clotting factor in the blood.

I am furious with the registrar, These last few days are supposed to be listening to whale music and relaxing!

scootermum · 18/05/2007 21:14

All you need Gingerbear..glad consultant was sensible at least!

Hi RK..Dont worry about not being caught up-dive straight in thats what I say..as largegandt says sometimes, every BH you have at this stage is one pain closer to getting the baby out..plus y'know I never had a clue when I was about to go into labour with DD..Had no inkling at all..so you never know could be any time now..

We had pasta for dinner in the end..so dull..plus I have a craving for somethings flesh..sorry if anyone is veggie, but I really do..must be my low iron levels, although strangely I dont crave leafy greens..nothing of that sort in the house however so have gone to bed in a huff..Im very bored tonight..DH is revising so im consigned to upstairs and im fed up..
Plus have spent about an hour trying to top up my phone on line and have failed due to technical probs with vodaphone website and this hasnt improved my mood at all..

And there havent been any babies for ages..someone please have one to keep me entertained..and preferably with a blow by blow account on here..

Plus got chuffing viewings at silly times tomorrow, 10, 12, 1 and 4..so DD and I will be pretty much stuck in all day..BORED!!

scootermum · 18/05/2007 22:03

Is everyone off having their babies?!

InTheseShoes · 18/05/2007 22:05

No.

I have had my breast feeding consultant around tonight though. I have handled a knitted breast this evening...

MKG · 18/05/2007 22:38

I'm still here. I'm going to be pregnant forever.

Sumsey · 18/05/2007 23:44

Hello all.

TYG thanks for the link. breif history is emergency c.s 2 yrs ago (very traumatic) hense my flat refusal of being induced..or messed around with in general..quite happy to go overdue..(by happy i mean gritting my teeth in frustration but putting up with it) but my consultant has put a limit till friday 25th as i will be 40+12 days and i am already huge with this bubba. but i can still hope that nature may take over in the meantime.

DizzyBrummie · 19/05/2007 01:49

birth announcement

had my beautiful little boy by planned/surprise cs on 16th at 12.05 pm, 10lbs exactly. We're calling him Kimi Arne.

Thanks to you all for keeping me sane through the last 3 or 4 months!

wrinklytum · 19/05/2007 01:57

Congratulaions from slighty inebriated mumsnetter who should be in bed. Enjoy your little one and remember the sleepless nights do not last forever:0

BefnalBub · 19/05/2007 06:39

Morning all! Thanks for the lovely comments about Lauren; I was thinkng that she looked quite like an alien but then again I was expecting a fat little bruiser not a tiny doll!

Was sitting in my flat with DP last night and L on his lap and trying to work out what on earth was going on. I can't even remember what it was like to be pregnant any more - how weird is that.

Anyway, very very happy as have already had a deep bonding experience (she wouldn't stop crying before the milk came in and I had tried everything. Then I put her on my chest and she nestled in and became incredibly calm and still - she hadn't wanted food, just to be really close to me). Felt amazing. Can't wait for you all to experience it!

xx

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2007 08:11

Congratulations DIZZY! What a very cool name for your LO, hope it all went well

Befnal im so glad things are going great with Lauren, it is lovely the first time you really settle them and realise all they want is you

Scoot i am not having a baby, was stuffing prawn Pathia in an attempt to shift him, needless to say it did not work.

Am sat down here as have been awake most of the night, ds#3 has a cough and has been hacking most of the night. I neede 3 wee's and then DS#4 was wondering the house a few times whinging. DS#3 then got up at 6 coughing his little lungs up. So have had my first cup of earl gray and eaten one of dh yummy scones he made in the week. Lots of jam and butter.

Am off to a toddler group with the two boys as dd is in hospital having gromits in and adenoids out. She has gone with her dad, i was so sad to let her go with him. I just would be no help at all, she is physically strong and will be fighting the doc's off! I didnt want to promise to be there when she woke and then not be as the baby has decided to come. Plus im a bit of an emotional wreck and seeing her like that would just make me cry, not what she needs to have round her. EXp and his girlfriend will make a fuss of her and take her back to theirs after so she has some quiet for the weekend. Im not happy about it though The parenting lark is damn near impossible when things like this come up. The guilt is tremendous.

madeindevon2 · 19/05/2007 09:09

just popped head in to see if any babies born in the night!
congrats to dizzie brummie on her arrival a few days ago! that bit about bonding bought a tear to my eye!
