Hehehe MKG. I DO know what you mean, because I never felt any contractions in my belly last time round. Only my back. Now I've started wondering if I'll know when it's happening. (I can hear the hollow laughing all round from the post-natal set ).
My midwife said to me that I just need to keep an eye out for anything regular, even if it's the tops of my thighs getting stiff and sore regularly. That's the key apparently. And, she did say that if by any chance (TYG hopes) that I don't realise and it's a case of "Oh my GOD, the baby is coming," then I leave a key in the door for access, call the midwife/ ambulance and if the baby actually arrives before they do, then all you do is dry the baby gently and wrap yourself and it in a warm blanket and wait. The medics then deal with cord/ placenta etc. You do nothing except cuddle baby and offer it the breast if you wish. There you are. Emergency childbirth in a nutshell. Is your dog back then? Did you mom decide it was too much of a bad influence on her dog?
Cinnamontam - It was AWFUL. To be fair, I am a person who doesn't really "get" modern art and obv I don't "get" modern dance either. I just don't. But anyway, here's what it said in the programme.
"Rabid". This piece was inspired by a TV documentary about rabies. The theme was, then, compared and related to human emotions.
WTF? 6 minutes it was. Longest 6 minutes of my life. Gagh. Some of the girls in DD's school do dance for GCSE and A level, so there were some coursework pieces that were a bit arty of me and I didn't understand, but they were short and I'm sure they were very good, in that the girls had choreographed it themselves etc. Just not my thing.
Anyway, DD's bit was jazz/ street dance to music I understood and it was a bit of jigging about. There wasnt' any meaning I was apparently, missing out on.
