Thanks for the update MrJB.

Hope you guys are doing great.

Congrats to PinkJenny!! I hope everything went well, and you weren't too scared.

AbbyLou · 17/05/2007 17:17

More babies - congrats Anneme and Pinkjenny. Hope your little ones are well and you are recovering ok. I can't believe Ruby has only been here 9 days, it seems like forever.

InTheseShoes · 17/05/2007 17:39

Congratulations PinkJenny and Anneme! A boy and a girl - how lovely and symmetrical! Well done to both of you, hope you are having a lovely snuggle now!

LG&T sounds like this might be it for you (lol at the leg shaving!) - fingers crossed for a speedy delivery for you.

Who's left now? Me, Jonah, Pebble, Cinnamon, Lwatkins (hi! we thought you were on your way!) madeindevon, Gingerbear, 12YG, scootermum, juliewoolie, MKG, dorisdaily, JuicyLucy and Sumsey. Is that it?

I spent the day on the sofa watching Sex and the City series 5 and 6 on DVD, and saw the midwife at lunchtime. Nothing in particular to report. Occasional back/period type pains but nothing regular or persistent. I'm still feeling like lentil-weaving is going to turn out a wrong choice,if I'd had that elective C, the baby would be here now. In happy news, my grobags and swaddling blanket are here, so that's nice.

scootermum · 17/05/2007 17:45

Congrats Pinkjenny..another lovely name!

Hiya to Mr JB...Love to the Mrs..

Well this must certainly be it Largegandt...im sure of it!And you are all ready?Legs shaved?Bags packed?Any last minute KK flavour orders for your getting home from hosp pack?Or would you rather a mixed dozen?(now theres an inducement for baby gandt to get out straight away!)Good luck love...and keep us posted if anything happens...

Waves madly to LWatkins...I felt sure you were off having your baby!Glad you are alright hon..if not very comfy!Bet you still beat me to it though..our EDD is the same day so lets see who gets there first!Do you want to email me on my other address, [email protected] with your mobile no, then you can keep us posted if anything occurs..(no pressure but I fret when people go AWOL...)lol at you unplugging the phone..I think this is why in the olden days this time before the birth was called 'the confinement', because you are kept a ruddy prisoner by people asking if anything's happened yet and you arent allowed out without letting all and sundry know where you are..

Hope babies come soon for you, MKG and Pebble..and all others who have had it with being pg..I wouldnt mind another week as long as my pains stay in the background-which they have done today..But then another week of silly not- real- labour pains and I will be annoyed..

at your Mum TYG..Glad it isnt just me!

Hope you are still alright for tomorrow Madeindevon?
Hopefully DD will be going to my, (her) friends for the afternoon so it might just be me..she doesnt take kindly to shopping/sitting drinking tea situations at the mo and TBH I could use the break, she has been so clingy these last few days, I feel like she is permanently stuck to me..I love her to death but she is too heavy to have on me all the time at the mo..think she realises something is about to happen bless her..

Have been to my Bumps and Babes..think I may have upset one of the mums to be...She asked me honestly what labour was like, to which I replied that it did hurt a bit, but was all worth it in the end, and she would be surprised what she could cope with..I though there was no point in fibbing and saying its a piece of piss...anyway she got quite huffy at that and said she was hoping I would say it didnt hurt that much..Feek awful now as I clearly didnt say the right thing..

Feel a bit stuffy in the house, might chance a walk after tea..stretch the legs a bit and walk off some of the cake..some hope...

AbbyLou · 17/05/2007 17:50

I wouldn't worry about that mum Scooter. Anyone who thinks labour doesn't hurt is living in a dream world. Of course it hurts, but as you say it's worth it in the end and you forget about it so quickly.

scootermum · 17/05/2007 18:22

I guess she is just nervous and I probably didnt help..might email her later and apologise to be on safe side..thanks Abby though..pretty much what I thought, but guess you can never be too careful what you say when you dont know people that well..

How is Ruby doing BTW?Is she letting you get some sleep?

MKG · 17/05/2007 19:24

Scooter,

Don't you dare apologize!! I didn't read anything in your response that is worth apologizing for. It's better to be honest than lie. You know what I hate. I hate the people that say "You'll know when you're in labor" Why can't people just say, "Labor is like menstrual cramps multiplied by 100" or something more realisitic. Or "pushing the baby out is like having to push out a 10 lb poop"

Tell your friend to suck it up and deal with the pain.

JonahB · 17/05/2007 19:49

Congrats MrsJB, Pink and Anneme!!!

Three announcements in one day!!!!!

Scoot, my DS is being really clingy at the moment as well. He?s also currently standing at the stairgate door to his room crying as he doesn?t want to go to sleep. Sigh. Trying to stay calm??.

Good luck the rest of you still waiting?..

muckers · 17/05/2007 19:53

Hi all,

MrsJB's dsis here, just had a long chat with MrsJB, and she and Jorja are doing very well.

MrsJB hopes to be back with you all on Saturday and thanks you all for your kind messages.

And from me just a quick thanks for keeping me entertained whilst in France with MrsJB for the last week, (never stopped laughing at your messages)just knew she would wait until I got on the plane bound for England before things really started to happen. Now I wont get to see my neice until July.

Lwatkins · 17/05/2007 20:45

scootermum · 17/05/2007 20:48

On consideration MKG, you are probably right..she will find out soon enough I guess..I mean if she didnt wanna know she shouldnt have asked..

Pains have come back in the last hour..DH has been despatched to get me some paracetomol..which will clearly see me through labour and beyond..(im all about the Placebo effect, me)I dont think its proper labour though-just body mucking about..

scootermum · 17/05/2007 20:59

Not going so well with the big bed then Jonah?Still havent got DD's assembled yet..but think its more than I can take on at the moment getting her into it..Mae will just have to stay squished in the Moses basket till she is about 4..

cinnamontam · 17/05/2007 21:09

Hello lovely ladies.

LG&T - crossing everything except my legs that this is it for you. I met with MarsLady today (as she is my doula in waiting) and we were saying we couldn't believe you were +4 over your EDD. Way to hang in there little lg&t

LWatkins - nice to hear from you lovely. We were convinced you had gone into labour. Sorry you are feeling shite - my belly has just started feeling really tight and sore and itchy so can now imagine what you've been feeling

Congrats Anneme and PinkJ Fabulous news

Scoot - do NOT apologise to that woman. She is living in a bloody dreamworld if she gets snippy at hearing the gentle truth from you...honestly

My grandmother arrived this morning from Oz and just got back from dinner with her. So lovely to see a family face . Mum arrives next Friday and then my darling sister on June 10th. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

Waves madly at Juicy - can't believe you are finally on MAT leave. YAY...enjoy

Off to bed - knackered as I've been up since 5am and on the go most of the day. Wishing those that want them lots of nice gentle going into labour tonight vibes

scootermum · 17/05/2007 21:19

Hey Tam!
Why on earth were you up at 5am?Baby related?
Glad your family are here/ will be here soon...

cameroonmama · 17/05/2007 21:19

Congratulations Pink and family on the arrival of Alexa! I hope the section all went better than you thought it would.

LG&T, are you still hanging on in there??

LW, good to hear your dulcet tones, you had everyone worried you know, sorry about the itching. It'll all be over soon enough

cinnamontam · 17/05/2007 21:22

The cats always wake me round that time as they are bored and want someone to play. Normally I try and go back to bed and snooze on and off till 8ish but I just couldn't get back to sleep so got up and did chores round the house and straightened my hair which takes about an hour!!! I go from Shirley Temple to something a litte closer to your glossy, straight do

Then went out, walke...got rained on so now have something that is straight yet frizzy...ARGHHHHHH

BefnalBub · 17/05/2007 21:24

hello! finally home. off to catch up, write birth announcement & do photos. back in a bit.

O good o, cant wait to hear all about it Befnal..bet its lovely to be home at last!

Our Cat does that Tam, 4.45 am every morning..I desperately need him to give it a rest..I wonder how this can be achieved? If we lock him out of the bedroom he scratches all the walls to shreds...
Glossy, my hair?..lol-since the weather has decided to be like something out of Noahs Ark, it has resembled a haystack pretty much!

Arlen is doing so well Lupins!Well done you! Here, how is your DH now?Everything still ok?(tell me to mind my own of course if you like, no offence will be taken)

scootermum · 17/05/2007 22:12

Hope gandt is ok and having her baby..

twelveyeargap · 17/05/2007 23:13

Evening. I'm off for a few hours and LG&T feckin' goes into labour (probably).

Ooooh, 'tis very exciting.

Well DD's dance thing was good. It was a bit of fun - her bit. A lot of the rest was a bit lost on me, I'm sorry to say. Lots of "modern dance". They had a guest troupe in that did a dance that was inspired by a tv documentary on.... Rabies. Yes, rabies. How nice. I think they all went mad and died (metaphorically), but I can't say for sure.

She was chuffed about her dad being there. He was going to go and find a hostel tonight, so obv we've said he's welcome to stay. DH and he have gone off round to our friends' house now. Modern families eh? We're very lucky we all get on. I suppose it's because ex-p and I were very young when we had DD and split up well, donkeys years ago. No hard feelings etc.

I'm dying to find out how LG&T is, but I suppose 11.15 at night is a bit late. Dammit.
