Ok, that sounds pretty scary. What's the scheme for treating it? Are you in hospital now?

I'm very pleased that they've figured out what is wrong with you although I do wish it was slightly less serious.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 19/09/2018 22:09

@Si1ver. I am at home now. Now I know why I've felt so off for the last few weeks! It's weird as it started off as just me feel a massive sense of anxiety and then the shortness of breath came. They dont know where it came from as my legs looked clear on the ultrasound.

I am already taking blood thinning injections but they want to see me tomorrow to discuss what's next. DH is stunned and my poor mum and dad.

It's one of those things that you think "This can't happen to me"

WonkyDonk87 · 19/09/2018 22:51

Oh gosh @LookingAtTheStars89 - That just made me gasp out loud. You must be so worried. Hopefully blood thinners will be all that's required, although obviously that will raise your risk for delivery. Let us know what happens. Hope you get some sleep.

WonkyDonk87 · 19/09/2018 22:52

Ugh. Sorry - unhelpful comment there. Removes HCP hat from head and foot from mouth. Hope you're ok @LookingAtTheStars89

LookingAtTheStars89 · 20/09/2018 00:07

@WonkyDonk87. Ahh don't be daft! I had thought the same thing. I was already high risk before - my consultant will have a flap when he finds out! It made me gasp when they told me too - and then wail uncontrollably! I was fairly smug and thought it would be negative. The nurse said she was shocked when she was told too.

I sound melodramatic but I feel like I'm literally waiting to keel over! I can't do anything at the minute without being really out of breath which is annoying as well as scary - just loading the washing machine and I sound like I've run 5 miles!

Si1ver · 20/09/2018 06:10

It sounds bloody terrifying tbh. Try and take it really easy and do exactly what you're told to by the health care team. Fingers crossed your appointment today goes well.

Rubberduckies · 20/09/2018 06:54

Oh looking so sorry! But at least they know what it is now, and can start with treatment.

Ok so I'm here because I took a test yesterday and I'm bloody pregnant!! 4+5 based on period or 4+3 knowing ovulation- what do people use?

We had completely given up with only 4% morphology and 70% antisperm antibodies. We were just waiting for April to hurry up to start ICSI and feel pretty depressed about it all, so i hadn't been on the board for a while. Now we're both a bit confused....I keep thinking it's one of those vivid dreams and I'll wake up feeling really disappointed......

SoozC · 20/09/2018 07:19

Shit, Looking, I just had to Google pulmonary embolism - looks mega scary. So sorry you're going through this right now. I have zero practical suggestions to make but always here if you need to offload. Take it nice and easy (as I'm sure you are). xx

Si1ver · 20/09/2018 08:02

Congratulations @Rubberduckies. I'm so pleased you didn't have to go through ICSI.

LimpLettice · 20/09/2018 10:59

Oh Looking that sounds scary as heck. Sending big hugs. If it makes you feel any better I'm in delivery triage with pain and a bit of reduced movement. Probably nothing but better to get checked. Obvs cannot get hold of DH so stuck here v bored!

MynameisJune · 20/09/2018 12:10

@looking so sorry that must be so scary but they are treatable when found so that’s a positive.

@rubberduckies congratulations! I’m 5+6 by my dates but 5+3 by lmp but midwife took 5+3 based on lmp until scan. There is a May antenatal thread if you want to join us. I’ve booked an early scan for 2 weeks time for reassurance as still can’t believe it.

@limplettice sorry your in the hospital lovely, I was induced with DD due to so many instances of rfm. So worrying, hope all is okay

SoozC · 20/09/2018 12:28

Limp, thinking of you too, sounds frightening. I hope it all checks out okay x

Congrats Duckies, sorry, was more focused on the emergency news this morning. I'm 25+6 according to lmp but 25+4 based on when I'm sure I ov'd. I'm going with the former!

Si1ver · 20/09/2018 12:42

What's Imp?

I know when conception happened (to the minute) but the scans have me measuring three days ahead.

MynameisJune · 20/09/2018 13:04

@si1ver it stands for last menstrual period I think. So Doctors take dates usually from the first day of your last period. So in effect you’re two weeks pregnant at conception

Si1ver · 20/09/2018 13:24

@MynameisJune ah, that's why it means nothing to me. My while cycle was thrown out by the IVF, so my ovulation (egg collection) was delayed by two weeks.

LimpLettice · 20/09/2018 15:26

Thanks ladies. I'm still here waiting on some swabs but hopefully not for much longer I'm bored witless. Boy is fine on monitoring but looks like possible infection, despite urine being clear, as pain and my temp / bp and hr. are all elevated. But that will take a while so as long as it's not labour (he doesn't think it's waters but waiting on test) I can go and they'll call me back if I need meds.

It's been like a blockbuster ER episode in here though, with a poor woman at 33 weeks next to me shouting she was crowning and them telling her she wasn't in active labour. This is triage, not delivery, but she was right and they were not 😱 hope they are both ok it was a bit scary.

Rubberduckies · 21/09/2018 06:57

Oooh errr limp poor woman. It pisses me off when I hear stories like that. My sil was told for ages not to come in because she definitely wasn't in labour (over the phone) and when we eventually ignored them she got to the hospital 5 mins before he was born.....

How are you today looking?

I'm thinking about booking an early scan - when will I have the best chance of a heart beat? Also I feel pretty queasy and my mouth keep drooling. What the hell is that about!?

SoozC · 21/09/2018 07:49

We saw a heartbeat but not much else at 6 weeks (emergency due to bleed). Our 9-week scan (private) we saw much more. Depends how impatient you are!

WonkyDonk87 · 21/09/2018 07:58

Congrats @Rubberduckies! I had a scan at 8 weeks (by lmp) but was dated 7+5 there by the sonographer. Saw a blob with a heartbeat, hearing it was amazing. Dating was correct to the day when I had the 12 week scan. All becomes irrelevant at the end though as they never arrive on the correct day! Someone told me that in France they give you a due month rather than due date. Seems sensible.

@LimpLettice Did you escape and get home ok?

@LookingAtTheStars89 How are you feeling today? Have they changed your treatment?

LimpLettice · 21/09/2018 10:06

I got out last night, thank you. Back at blinking work but only a half day. Baby is doing well, not sure what is causing the pain but possibly a BV infection or similar. It was manic in there so didn't want to stay to find out, and everything was SO slow - they are supposed to call this morning with swabs results but am not holding my breath. Will call later to chase.

Rubberduckies they did the same to me last time - kept telling me not to come in because my contractions were 30 seconds long (despite being fairly constant) and so it couldn't be full labour. I ignored and went in anyway and was 6cm when I got in, which was 2.5 hours after first pain - whole labour 6 hours.

I had a few early scans due to previous loss. 5.5 weeks was a yolk sac, I think 7 weeks ish a flickery heartbeat blob, and 9 weeks a lovely clear bean with developing limbs, so if you can hold out, that was defo the best one.

DoAsDreamersDo · 21/09/2018 10:11

Wow looking and limp sounds as though you’re both having a really rough time at the moment xx wishing you both all the best.

Hope all the other Yammer grads are all doing well xx

Rubberduckies · 22/09/2018 06:18

Thanks everyone. I've booked it for 7 weeks to get a good co promise between seeing something and not waiting too long! Anyone else find it difficult to believe? I know I shouldn't but I've been taking tests each day to check I'm still pregnant (then slightly worrying about the strength of the line.....) I need to try and wean myself off them lol!!!

SoozC · 22/09/2018 08:09

Every day I find it hard to believe! I keep looking at this bump and not really understanding that I'm having a baby - it just always seemed to be something that happened to other people. I give thanks to the universe every day and am ridiculously proud. It seems like such a hard-won prize that I can't believe is really mine!

WonkyDonk87 · 22/09/2018 08:12

I did them for aaages duckies Grin strength of the line is meaningless right now. You is upduffed.

DoAsDreamersDo · 22/09/2018 13:45

I still feel like a fraud when browsing in the baby department in shops. I keep expecting someone to ask me if I’m looking for someone else, even though as my Mum put it yesterday I look like I’ve got a cushion shoved up my top (thanks Mum!!) x
