Oh, Limp, sorry to hear you're experiencing this. The diet sounds alarming, I would find it very hard (I love my chocolate). This whole pregnancy malarkey is such a minefield of stuff. Sending hugs!

LimpLettice · 10/08/2018 14:44

Thanks Sooz. Oddly I'm not so stressed about the diet, cutting the sweet stuff is not such a huge deal I suppose. Although it does feel a bit unfair, I've had no real trouble cutting the booze but a nice appletise or treaty pudding has made up for that. Now it's just boring wholewheat and veg and water. Pfft, but doable. It's the medicalisation of the whole thing that's getting me panicked. Boo.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 10/08/2018 15:22

@LimpLettice. I think it's normal to panic. I keep worrying that if this baby has IUGR like my youngest DD then it will mean frequent trips to my baby hospital, which is like an hour away and I have DD's to get to/from school. I asked DH the other day what we'd do should the predicament arise and he just said "I don't know" Hmm I'm like jeez...fucking helpful!

It sometimes feels like as the woman/mum we have to worry about it all and DH's just skip off merrily to work leaving their home life when they close the front door 😂

An induction doesn't have to be too medicalised though. The only difference I've experienced between "natural" start and medical start was the two pessaries up my lady garden 😂 and it tends to take a little longer to get in the swing of things.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 10/08/2018 15:23

@SoozC. I would be stressed about no chocolate 😂 I'm struggling on my limited amounts as it is! I think I would cry if someone said none at all Sad

pinkdonkey · 10/08/2018 19:28

Limp I'm still on a high from my BFP and everyone is telling me that I'm glowing/radient/look well even those I haven't told about the pregnancy, but definately getting very tired. My DM tells me it's too early for it to be pregnancy related and that won't hit me until later, but I'm not convinced. Sorry to hear about the diabetes, DH is diabetic and so we don't have sugar and avoid most carbs, it's hard to get your head around at first but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. A little bit of dark choc is OK for diabetics too. Sorry to hear about the induction, at the end of the day they are just trying to keep you and baby safe though.

DH is the one asking practical questions at the moment, I'm still in a happy bubble. DH wants us tho have screening tests, so have let the midwife know we have changed our minds, he's also thinking about practical things like the holiday we already have booked for next summer.

WonkyDonk87 · 10/08/2018 20:22

Oh Limp that is utterly wank. I really hope it doesn't mess with too much other stuff for you, you've had it hard enough getting here!

I've been a complete emotional wreck this week. Could have easily punched someone this morning or cried (did neither thank god as I'd obviously lose my job with the first and dignity with the second!) I've been really blunted and low, then furious with DH. We've had the 'big chat' now, but I made sure to be clear, it's not just my hormones - he was a bit of a twat anyway Grin Bank shift tomorrow then hopefully some self care on Sunday. Happy weekend to all Yammers

LookingAtTheStars89 · 10/08/2018 20:42

Ugh, horrible feeling I have a UTI. Peeing a lot and a bit crampy, so I will be off to the put of hours in the morning! Of course now I'm worrying myself silly that the cramps are something sinister Confused

WonkyDonk87 · 10/08/2018 20:51

Pretty sure UTIs are more common in pg. Sisterly sympathies though - they suck.

Fuck sake! And it's s bladder infection for me! I feel and look like a sack of crap lol. I've got some antibiotics so hopefully within the next few days I will feel better.

Pinkdonkey · 12/08/2018 08:49

Hugs everyone Sad

DoAsDreamersDo · 12/08/2018 10:12

Oh gosh, sorry to hear everyone having such a hard time at the moment xx

LimpLettice · 12/08/2018 12:10

Blimey yammers, not a good weekend. Hope everyone is feeling better.

I'm not. This cold is just the worst. I feel like death warmed over. Have had to have words with DH, as the house is just awful, I've done nothing for days and he'll just sit there ignoring it. Or say it looks fine, load half the dishwasher and call that 'clean'. I'm trying to get to grips with the low carb no sugar thing while dying of snot, and the mess makes me feel worse. I did ask what he thought would happen if I end up induced and in for a few days...will I just be bringing baby home to a sty?

Think it may have helped as I just heard the hoover running Grin

SoozC · 13/08/2018 18:59

How's DH getting on, Limp? I have to say, without sounding too smug hopefully, that mine is amazing re. cooking, washing up, putting out bins, cleaning and I get breakfast in bed most days during the hols! That said, he doesn't hoover or clean the bathroom. Or wipe down the surfaces in the kitchen. But I can cope with those things!

In other news, I can no longer see the underside of my bump! It's getting proper sticky-outy. Still getting bad pain at night, though, in my knees and hips. And I'm not getting proper bump movements that I can see with my eyes or capture on video (he always stops once I'm looking at it), but I can feel him loads! Smile

SoozC · 13/08/2018 19:00

Hope Limp and Looking are feeling a bit better today, too.

LimpLettice · 13/08/2018 19:13

Jealous Sooz! He does ok but needs a kick to do more than the basics. Why don't they wipe the tops down?! He's visiting the in laws tonight while I fester alone. Mil will sort him out Grin DD with her dad and I've been signed off with a nasty dose of bronchitis. I feel fecking dreadful quite honestly but there you go.

I'm only now getting visible movement and I've felt loads for a long time. Are you sleeping with a pillow between your knees? I get some pain if I don't now.

SoozC · 13/08/2018 20:15

Bronchitis? Sorry to hear it, Limp. Sad

Have tried lots of things in bed - sleeping on a duvet, pillow between knees/hips/behind back, lying on left/right/propped up. Some nights it's better than others but I always get pain. I don't know how I'm going to cope going back to work!

LimpLettice · 13/08/2018 22:25

It's unpleasant and I'm shattered but hoping the amoxicillin kicks in quick.

Sounds horrible. I've always been a frequent waker but the night wee's and sore throat are exhausting me at the mo. Bed to self no alarm though, yay!

WonkyDonk87 · 14/08/2018 22:32

That's it. I've broken already. I don't even care that it's so early on.

I WORE MATERNITY JEANS TONIGHT AND I LOVED THEM Grin

DH and I went out for dinner and a walk along the beach and I was comfortable. Bliss.

SoozC · 15/08/2018 05:13

Yay to maternity clothes! I love mine, I get ridiculously proud of my bump!

Si1ver · 15/08/2018 09:09

How far on are you Wonks? I think I went into maternity jeans at 14 weeks. I haven't fitted into my actual jeans since I started IVF.

WonkyDonk87 · 15/08/2018 10:11

I'm 15 weeks, don't really need them at the moment, especially when it's the morning and I'm smaller, but by the evening tight jeans and leggings are getting uncomfortable. Definitely worth it when going out for dinner!

Si1ver · 15/08/2018 10:24

I'm never giving up my maternity jeans. Ever.

DoAsDreamersDo · 15/08/2018 11:07

I don't know why they don't make 'normal' jeans with nice elasticated waistbands! They are lovely and comfy and don't ride down and show your arse as you sit down!!

I'm worried because I think my belly button may be about to pop! It got really wide as my bump got bigger and now it's starting to look shallow so I think it's only a matter of time!!
