I've spent most of today asleep on the sofa. I'm quite dehydrated, and if I can't sort that out I have to go back to hospital. Unfortunately drinking is causing the stomach cramps which isn't encouraging me to drink. So not great all things considered.

Sounds grim, S1lver. Ice cubes / lollies for hydration or do they do the same? Fingers crossed it settles for you now.

Argh, sorry to hear it, Si1ver, but I'm hoping that if you get cramps with drinking then hopefully they're to do with that and nothing to do with the pregnancy. Keeping it all crossed for you.

Arghh. Just remembered I've got my gtt in the morning which means fasting from tonight. Sod it, 12 hours without food 😱

@LimpLettice I remember my last GTT, it was a LOOONG appointment! I had - the first blood draw and drink, WAITING, second blood draw, WAITING, scan, WAITING, consultant appointment and then whooping cough/anti d jab! We seemed to be there for days! The receptionist was like "Oh I'll book everything in together" not realising we'd be there until the end of the pregnancy 😂

Anomaly scan in just over 12 hours - eek! Petrified they'll find something wrong but excited to find out the sex. God, I'll be lucky to sleep tonight not that I do usually, thanks to my hips!

@SoozC. Eek! Exciting! Hip pains sucks :-(

@SoozC Good luck for your scan. Have you got a pregnancy pillow? A lady at my yoga class has just got one for her painful hips and said it was amazing.

I'm waiting for second blood test. I've developed a stinking cold and I'm so hungry! Nearly there.

I'm having extra scans/appts though due to something to do with my arteries (in the placenta?) dealing with the blood flow and possible pre-eclampsia. DH not happy, he hates scan rooms!

Sooz Glad all is well with baby. Glad they are keeping an eye on placenta, will help them give you both the right care.

I'm shattered this afternoon even though I had a lie in this morning. DH is poorly with stomach bug so trying to avoid that too. Spoke to midwife this morning on phone and have decided against screening tests so she is just booking a dating scan. Was on the spot and didn't get a chance to discuss with DH properly first so hoping he is OK with this too.

I have another 3 scans Sooz due to elderliness, and they haven't exactly been my favourite place over the last year. I think we'll have had about 15 scans this year by the end. But I do like seeing my boy.

Hope you're sleeping peacefully Pink. I'm still waiting for the glow at 25 weeks. Feel like death today, so congested and achey. Boo.

Bloody fuckery Yammers I have gestational diabetes which is only just over the threshold but still there.

More blooming monitoring and no real chance of avoiding early induction. Got a 3 hour group session on Wednesday to cover diet and sweet talk consultant. And no chocolate. Or juice or white bread. Or cake or jam or....bah.

Fuck that shit.

@LimpLettice. Oh no! Did that come from just one GTT or did you have another test to confirm?

Have you had glucose issues before? I have to be regularly monitored because of the PCOS and my mum has type 2.

How early are they thinking of inducing? I have been induced at 37.5 and 38 and it was ok both times.

I'm so fucked off. One test, level at 8.5. Dad also has Type 2 hence the risk. I'm in bed sick anyway so I just want to cry.

I'm not sure yet Looking I need to discuss with the consultant on weds. Original consultant said they push for 38 weeks at 40+, and I'll be 41, but that with no complications I might still be able to avoid it. Diabetic midwife had just told me that 37+ is standard, but I can ask. So I'm thinking the two things combined means they will push for 38. I know I can't be forced, and I know it works out fine for some women but I've got such a fear of it all getting medicalised and instrumental. DH will be in a new job and not able to take much pat leave, family are miles away, DD has to be taken to school...catastrophising much, me?!
