Welcome to sunny Dorset! Grin

LimpLettice · 03/08/2018 07:35

Aha! I vaguely thought you were in that direction, Wonky! We were going to go to Abbottsbury. Chesil Beach is my favourite place in the world, but we couldn't book so are a bit further out. Not looking forward to the drive in this heat I must say.

physicskate · 03/08/2018 12:54

Hi all,

I wasn't a yammer, but had a lot of support and assistance with a specific trolling incident from a lot of women who post on this thread. So I thought I would give a wave and also say thank you!! Hopefully I belong here too.

I'm 9 weeks following our first round of IVF for 'unexplained' after ttc 2 and a bit years. I have my second scan Monday. First scan at 6 +3 showed a heartbeat, so we're hopeful for Monday...

LimpLettice · 03/08/2018 13:19

I have to admit to a tiny stalk physicskate after that incident to check you were ok so I knew you'd had some luck with ivf. So very pleased for you, it's a scary time I know. You pretty much are a yammer anyway, so very welcome! Will keep all extremities crossed for you on Monday.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 14:03

I got my downs/edwards/patau bloods letter through today - all 1 in 10,000 and classed as low risk so that's a relief. My booking normal bloods were good too, the midwife did make me laugh as she said "Ooh your iron reserves are great and your blood group is normal" Not quite sure what a normal blood group is 😂 I already know I'm RH O Negative.

@physicskate woohoo! So glad you're joining us :-) I had my first scan at 6 and then at 9 and had my 12 week on Tuesday. We will be having a 16 week on at the end of this month (I can't wait a whole 8 weeks until 20 weeks!)

How are you feeling?

SoozC · 03/08/2018 14:46

Oh, Kate, I'm really pleased to hear your IVF has been successful; you were such a stalwart of the Conception board it's great to see you over here. Of course you can be a special Honorary Yammer Grad! Everything crossed for Monday! If you want in on our FB group, pm me.

Looking - glad your results look good. The Down's is certainly better than mine - 1 in 5550, which I take it is because of my geriatric age at nearly 37!

Still haven't found anywhere for the boxes of travel system stuff to go. Well, I tell a lie, I know exactly where I want them to go but it's upstairs and and I can't lift them so DH will have to oblige and he hasn't done it yet... So frustrating as I'm "nesting" (bit early!) and sorting out stuff and there are just boxes EVERYWHERE and the front door is currently hard to get to.

I'm nicely distracting myself, though, from out 20-week scan which is next Thursday. I am beginning to get the fear back now it's approaching, worried that something has happened. It doesn't help that I think I'm feeling kicks but it could just be wind (although can one woman be so gassy at all times of day?!). We are very impatient to see all is well. I am practising your mantra, Limp, and just trying to enjoy being preggers today.

WonkyDonk87 · 03/08/2018 15:57

Welcome @physicskate! So pleased to hear your success.

How did you get your results so bloomin quick @LookingAtTheStars89?! I only got mine through the post yesterday (humpf!)

@LimpLettice Wow, you're in the deep dark depths of west Dorset..... we here in the east consider that practically wales 😉😂 Gorgeous area, have a lovely time. Hope traffic isn't too awful good luck through Dorchester!

physicskate · 03/08/2018 16:43

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I recognise all of your names... not many are around from my ttc group!! Feeling like total crap again after feeling ok earlier in the week.

Oh question!! How long did it take you guys to get your free prescription card thing? I had my first midwife appointment over a week ago... or does it come at the 12 week scan?

SoozC · 03/08/2018 16:52

I think mine arrived a week or two after it was posted. I got the form at my 8 week midwife appointment. I keep meaning to book a dentist appointment, really must do that this holiday!

WonkyDonk87 · 03/08/2018 17:01

I got my form at my booking appointment, and got it back a week or two later. My lovely dentist took my word for it though when I had a check up that fell early doors.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 17:22

@WonkyDonk87. I don't know but I was shitting myself as it was so quick!

I STILL haven't sent my form off! I keep thinking it will jinx it lol. I will send it off tomorrow!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 17:23

Without sounding like a massive bore - I cannot wait until winter! I'm so done with this hot weather!!!

Si1ver · 03/08/2018 18:26

Hi @physicskate, I'm so pleased your IVF worked as well! My prescription card took about a month to come through. I felt like I was waiting for it for ages. I have promptly lost it though Grin

My downs risk came back as 1:886 which felt not great (especially as my Edwards and Patau's were 1:30,000) but my midwife friend says it's actually fairly good for my age (38) and that I have nothing to worry about. Weirdly they wanted to know how old I was at egg collection to calculate risk. I was 37 at EC and turned 38 the day after embryo transfer. I wonder if non IVF pregnancies are asked this.

I'm also looking forward to the cooler weather and being able to wear nice snugly jumpers.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 18:57

@Si1ver. My mum had a risk of 1:600 when She was 32 and all was well. It's the first pregnancy I've ever been tested for Edwards and Patau's.

Yes I am looking forward to boots, coats and jumpers :-). I love winter ❤.

WonkyDonk87 · 03/08/2018 21:58

How do you know which one is which? Mine has ratios for 'trisomy 21' and 'trisomy 13/18'?

WonkyDonk87 · 03/08/2018 22:11

Ok, just worked it out. I'm only just out of the high risk for Down's Confused

LookingAtTheStars89 · 03/08/2018 23:11

@WonkyDonk87. What were your numbers Wonks? If it says low risk then I wouldn't worry :-) I don't know about yours but mine says "Your risk is low"

WonkyDonk87 · 04/08/2018 06:54

1:464...... others seem to have ratios in the 1000s Confused (not as near high risk as I thought last night having rechecked the paperwork, I may have been tired!)

pinkdonkey · 04/08/2018 07:15

Hello ladies, I was a Yammer though had a MN break for a while now due to stress/MY issues. Congratulations to you all, lovely to see some familiar names here. I was due to start Clomid this week, but this little bean beat me to it and I finally got my BFP! 4+5 if I've done my maths right Grin

pinkdonkey · 04/08/2018 07:16

That should say MH issues

LimpLettice · 04/08/2018 07:48

Wonky Dorchester was rotten. 5.5 hours from Bedfordshire, my poor ankles and calves were like hams last night. It's beautiful here though.

My Edwards was 1:40000, Downs 1:1200, which midwife told me was the average risk for a 25 year old despite my advanced age. Low risk enough for me.

Maternity exemption arrived in about 10 days and my dentist is happily doing lots of bits for me.

Hello pinkdonkey, many congrats on your bfp!

Si1ver · 04/08/2018 08:04

Hello @pinkdonkey, congratulations on your bfp. You must be so pleased.

DoAsDreamersDo · 04/08/2018 10:03

Welcome @Physicskate I always felt that you were a Yammer ☺️ So glad that your IVF worked.

And congratulations @Pinkdonkey it’s so exciting when you first get your BFP x lovely timing too right before you started on clomid! (Oh clomid just autocorrected to cookie, and now I’m hungry 😋).

LookingAtTheStars89 · 04/08/2018 11:44

@WonkyDonk87. I wouldn't worry :-) Do you have the same number for all three? Most other people I've spoken to have different numbers. Not that it really matters!

@LimpLettice. The numbers seem to be completely different each time - I've had 100,000, 30,000 and 10,000. Maybe how your body is internally reacting to the ageing process affects it too? I mean I'm only 29 but I have congenital abnormalities and lung problems which must add stress internally.

@pinkdonkey. Congratulations! I'm glad you got to avoid clomid too - this baby is a clomid baby and taking clomid is like a sneak preview of what the menopause is like - hot, sweaty and grumpy 😂😂😂

WonkyDonk87 · 04/08/2018 21:13

Congratulations @pinkdonkey! What a sneaky little bean

@LookingAtTheStars89 My combined for Patau's/Edwards was
