Thanks milk - it's such a hideous way of working isn't it?

NimbleKnitter · 23/07/2018 08:57

I think they all operate that way - no news is good news.

To be honest - the wait is excruciating no matter how they do it. We had the harmony test, where you get a phone call within 10 days with your result. Crapped myself when the phone rang

I’m ok! I’ve been in pre-labour since Friday, so things are moving, albeit slowly.

I’m leaking a shit-tonne of colostrum, and contracting in M&S food wasn’t the best fun.

Hopefully before the week is out

LimpLettice · 23/07/2018 09:29

Mine was the same, and I was quite worried. Letter was about 8 days.

Nimble is go chill out somewhere just like for aircon if I could! Hopefully the contractions are getting things nicely ready for a speedy active labour. Good luck 😘

Si1ver · 23/07/2018 09:45

Good luck @NimbleKnitter, I hope your pre-labour is swift and painless.

@Milknosugar1 does rewriting technical security documents count?

Well I just got a phone call.... And it was a fucking insurance scam "we understand that you've recently had an accident that wasn't your fault"...

My chest hurts with anxiety now.

LimpLettice · 23/07/2018 11:40

Sorry Nimble my phone speaks gibberish. You know what I meant!!

Oh S1lver. I hope today passes very swiftly for you.

WonkyDonk87 · 23/07/2018 13:22

Good luck Nimble!

Interesting point about the combined test... I've got my 12 week scam tomorrow, do you think we should hold off telling people? Or will the sonographer give a hint at the scan at least of the NT?

Si1ver · 23/07/2018 13:33

@WonkyDonk87 my sonographer said that everything looked ok to her, but was clear that this was in no way indicative of the outcome of the tests. As mentioned above if we get past 5pm today, we're considered to be in the clear.

My SiL was told at the scan there was an issue and referred to a consultant immediately.

WonkyDonk87 · 23/07/2018 14:35

Ok, thanks that's reassuring at least! Hope your phone stays silent @Si1ver

Si1ver · 23/07/2018 17:24

No phonecall, it's past 5pm. I guess we're in the clear!

SoozC · 23/07/2018 17:39

That's good news, Si1ver!

WonkyDonk87 · 24/07/2018 07:09

Fab @Si1ver! Was that the same day as your scan or did you have a wait? Got mine at 1pm - eek!

WonkyDonk87 · 24/07/2018 08:21

Thanks Milk. I'm feeling pretty ok at the moment, don't know if that will last until 1pm though! My mum works in the hospital (and will be having a right tizz until we pop in to say how it went Grin) but the ILs don't know yet and we'd like to ring them today. Feeling reassured by what S1lver said yesterday too.

LimpLettice · 24/07/2018 09:35

Yay S1lver! No news is great news.

Wonky do let us know how it goes, sure everythng will be lovely. Everything is moving very nicely on here which is so great to see.

Is anyone else really suffering with the weather? I mean I am sure people are, I just mean I am a mess. Everything is swelling, rings are off, can't sleep, can't sit. The office is like sitting in a bowl of warm minestrone, and the heat is giving me the odd dizzy spell. I am considering drenching my vest and wringing it out to try and get cool in front of the fan, which might make my staff bat a few eyelids. Doing my head in now.

Si1ver · 24/07/2018 09:59

Good luck today @WonkyDonk87. My scan was on Wednesday last week, so yes - three days later.

I told the SMT that I sit on today about my pregnancy and their response was "that's a bit of an extreme way to get out of X*" the joys of working on an all male team.

*X is a large project going live next year which has been going badly wrong.

Si1ver · 24/07/2018 10:00

@LimpLettice do you think it might be time to invest in an Aircon unit? The weather's going to hold for another month.

LimpLettice · 24/07/2018 10:08

S1lver you might be right. Will get DH to look into it, I just don't know if I can cope with another month. Thank god I am only this far, if I was even bigger I would probably cry.

Pfft. My boss has jokingly said I am only having a baby to get 9 months off...I don't entirely disagree!

NimbleKnitter · 24/07/2018 10:23

The weather can do one. My feet are so swollen they hurt.

LimpLettice · 24/07/2018 10:46

Nimble I really feel for you. I am barely managing work, you must just be exhausted. DH is on the case S1lver I will send him that link - he is good with stuff like this.

NimbleKnitter · 24/07/2018 11:08

I’m ok at home - multiple fans running - but completely dreading the hospital.

It’s going to be hotter than the sun
