Yay, Dreamers! Congrats, glad all is well! Mine is in 3 weeks - eek!

I'm on holiday!!!!!!! Feels fecking amazing, I can tell you. Had a proper lazy morning, DH brought me a coffee, just had a shower and off to my parents soon for coffee and cake. I am determined not to think about work for about 4 weeks, still thinking about it last night so didn't sleep so well but hopefully that'll all go away after a week or so.

I am going to use this holiday to clear loads of stuff and put clothes I can't fit into in storage and try to tidy things up. It's a ridiculously small house but the chances of us finding a house and moving in before Penguin is born are slim now so I'm going to have to put up with fitting baby in too. I'm thinking of being drastic - anything I haven't used/touched since we moved last year (excluding special memories and the boxes of books we haven't been able to unpack) will be chucked. I'm going to photograph things I'd like to remember then throw them, for example an empty gin bottle I used about 3 years ago on stage in a musical. Why is it still on my chest of drawers?! I'm also going to look into making a quilt and cut squares from all the t-shirts and other clothes I don't wear but would like to remember. Then I can keep a little bit of each which will take up far less space.

Sorry, don't mean to bore you all. That's what it's like for a teacher - the summer holiday is the one chance to actually do a big project and I feel time is running out somewhat! I promise I won't bore you with before and after photos Wink

BTW, would anyone else like a Yammers Grads FB group? I forget sometimes that this is still a public forum!

Lovely news @DoAsDreamersDo. Gotta love a bit of intuition

@SoozC Have you rad Marie Kondo's book?

DoAsDreamersDo · 20/07/2018 14:03

Thanks everyone x it was so nice for my daughter (eek how exciting is it to type that?!?) to behave for this scan, unlike the 12 week scan when she was a little madam who wouldn't let the sonographer get the measurement for the tests.

@SoozC yes, a FB group would be nice!

SoozC · 20/07/2018 14:12

No, Wonky, not heard of her. What are they about? Decluttering?

Glad your daughter (!) behaved for you this time round. Penguin turned his back on us at 12 weeks so who knows what he'll get up to next time!

DoAsDreamersDo · 20/07/2018 14:44

Sooz I was in for an hour at 12 weeks, but was in and out within 10 minutes this time!

LimpLettice · 20/07/2018 16:02

Yes please Sooz very much! I keep thinking some bump pix etc would be nice.

Oh god don't. I moved from a horrible 3 bed to a beautiful 2 bed cottage 18 months ago, and now we are full to bursting and looking at another move in the new year. The quilt idea is brilliant, I have one made from DDs baby clothes and I love it. I have yarn stashed everywhere, DH has a huge amount of pc / home office stuff and we have no room to breathe. Kondo is a step too far for me but I'm definitely going to have to go a bit mad on decluttering.

Awww daughter Smile I'm loving saying my son!

I'm having a sneaky glass of red in the garden to celebrate. Schools out, although I'm not, but I've just agreed 10 months mat leave with a few quid on top of smp with my boss, so will for the first time ever be able to spend most of the school holidays with DD next year. Feels so good!

WonkyDonk87 · 20/07/2018 16:42

I love the 'sparks joy' rule but don't go as far as folding my pants Grin

Si1ver · 20/07/2018 17:00

Great idea Sooz.

WonkyDonk87 · 20/07/2018 18:02

I have now had THREE people say I've got a little bump.
I know it's not a bump.
I know it's just fat.
I know they're being nice but....
It's making me Angry and Sad

I need to invite a 'friend' to start the group. Those of you in the original Yammers group, someone please friend me! Grin

Wonky - people seem to think pregnancy gives them the right to say things. At least they're saying it's a bump and not exclaiming how far you are!

SoozC · 20/07/2018 22:23

fat, not far

And I didn't mean to suggest you are fat! I'm sure you're not. I, however, am!

WonkyDonk87 · 20/07/2018 22:25

I wouldn't mind if I was a few more weeks along but it's far too early for a bump Blush it's mostly cornetto and carbs

Si1ver · 21/07/2018 11:23

@SoozC I think you're set to needing a friend in common to be able to friend. I've tried and I can't add you.

SoozC · 21/07/2018 11:35

Thanks, have changed them temporarily. Can't add any of you guys either - no 'add' button! FB is so bizarre.

Si1ver · 21/07/2018 13:38

Ok that's done, you can switch it back now.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 21/07/2018 14:18

I am going to re name today "sicky saturday". I've had the most unpleasant vom sessions and I think I've torn the lining in my throat as there were tiny blood streaks in it Sad

SoozC · 21/07/2018 19:05

Sorry to hear that, Looking. Sad

I've added those of you to the group who indicated, if I haven't but you want to join pm me.

WonkyDonk87 · 21/07/2018 20:34

Sorry @LookingAtTheStars89, hope you're feeling better now.

Can you add me too @SoozC? Don't need NCT when I've got the Yammers Grin

SoozC · 21/07/2018 20:53

I think I've invited everyone who's asked now - check your fb email address!

Going to be weird to find out what some of you look like... I have my own ideas, wonder if I'm close?! Grin

I am debating about getting DH a 1st anniversary present - a set of date cards (paper), one for each week of the coming year. Sounds good, except will we seriously do them with a newborn? Even if some of them are just things like 'Cuddle on the sofa'?

Si1ver · 21/07/2018 22:46

So long as it's not skydiving the week after you give birth @SoozC 😆. I think I gave my husband a t-shirt with paper planes printed on it for paper. And some paper filtered gin.

Speaking of the NCT, my husband signed us up and put our due date down as July rather than January. I've just had a "what the fuck are you talking about" email from the NCT, who clearly think I'm an incompetent simpleton/fantasist.

It's only because it's our first anniversary, Milk! I'm trying to start a tradition, we'll see if I can keep it up!

I booked our NCT course today - November! Seems so far away.

Si1ver · 23/07/2018 08:25

My hospital have a horrible way of working post combined testing. If I don't get a phone call by 5pm today, then we're considered all good for Downs, Edwards and Patau's testing. I literally have to wait all day to see if my phone rings.
