Sorry to hear lots of people ill or feeling unwell. My main issue is the bloating and constipation - like nothing I’ve had before! Swollen up like a sore balloon half the day and literally the highlight of my day is managing to go to the loo! Any tips on good remedies? I’m trying peppermint tea but doesn’t seem to make much difference.

Rockerfeller · 08/03/2018 07:51

@Bearsonstairs I got lactulose prescribed by gp and movicol to help me made a world of difference.

kirinm · 08/03/2018 08:12

You don't need a prescription for lactulose. They sell it over the counter.

HanSpan1 · 08/03/2018 16:19

Just had my screening results through the post today, came back as low risk and said 1:10000 for DS and 1:100000 for E and P.
They have booked me another scan with consultant at 18 weeka so he/she can measure the cist they noticed during 12 week scan.

Katjolo · 08/03/2018 17:37

Hi all, had my first scan today. So exciting. Due date is 25th September. Does anyone have a similar or same due date?

MonaTheMoaner · 08/03/2018 17:48

@kirinm I'm getting better at seeing them and that looks like a female nub as it's in line with the spine.

MonaTheMoaner · 08/03/2018 17:51

I'm really struggling.

One of my best friends died after a tragic choking accident last night. He was on life support since the early hours of Sunday morning so it wasn't a shock but has devastated all of his close friends.

I'm also finding work incredibly difficult even on five hour shifts. Tomorrow I'm working a split shift so 10 hours with a 4 hour break then back in the next morning for five hours. Three hours in my feet swell and ache so badly I can barely walk (and I have to waitress as well as tend the bar) and my lower back is in half. I bought some of the safe in pregnant deep freeze patches and spray to try and hopefully new shoes tomorrow that are ugly and are used by nurses on long shifts but so far, so terrible and I'm only fourteen weeks!

LostMyBaubles · 08/03/2018 18:18

What a loooong day!
Seen the consultant. Have a proper care plan in place.
Anomoly scan and renal scan next month. Start tinz at 28 weeks
To start 150mg aspirin asap
To see renal clinic
Urine to be sent to lab atleast once a month for protein

Gtt is all booked too.

LostMyBaubles · 08/03/2018 18:19

Mona im sorry about your friend Flowers
Hope the patches work for you

BadHominem · 08/03/2018 19:04

Hi guys

Haven't been on here in the longest time. Just tried to catch up with all the threads, and there have been so many losses. Feeling quite guilty that I wasn't more active to support people, having been there several times myself. Glad that everyone else seems to be getting their scans and starting to get excited and settled in! Mine's next tuesday at 12+6, getting excited!

I've been crippled with hyperemesis. Currently taking two anti-sickness medicines and still gagging all the time. Still working full time, because I feel better if I'm distracted at work than if I stay home. But it means when I get home I go straight to bed and feel sorry for myself. Really hope this doesn't last the entire pregnancy...

@TheBlindSpot I've sent you a message re: the FB group. One day I might actually feel well enough to be more active!

Cinnamon18 · 08/03/2018 19:50

Lol can someone explain to me please how to send messages please? Is it possible from your phone? @TheBlindspot x

TheBlindspot · 08/03/2018 20:16

Hi Cinnamon, you can't PM in the app. You need to open your internet browser and sign into MN there, then you can send a PM.

Cinnamon18 · 08/03/2018 20:26

@TheBlindspot I think I mastered it :)! Thanks so much xx

LostMyBaubles · 08/03/2018 20:34

Bad what meds are you taking?? Some work bettet than others

Im on cyclizine and ondansetron at 14 weeks still need them.
Still gagging/ nausea hasnt gone etc but better than what it has been thankfully.

Hispterwannabe · 08/03/2018 21:09

Hi there,

Please can you add me to your Facebook group? What info do you need?

TheBlindspot · 08/03/2018 21:13

You need to PM me @Hispterwannabe

BadHominem · 08/03/2018 21:51

Lostmybaubles: I’m on ondansetron and stematil, though also have cyclizine that I can swap the stematil out for to try instead. Trying to avoid cyclizine because it makes me go to sleep which is not compatible with working! Will give it a go this weekend though just in case.

I had HG with last two pregnancies but ondansetron by itself was enough to make me feel human. This pregnancy has really ramped it up beyond anything I had before!

CuppaSarah · 09/03/2018 06:22

Oh Mona I'm so so sorry to hear about your friend. That's so tragic. There is nothing that makes a tragic untimely death feel less awful. I've experienced similar and it's just so painful years on. If you need anyone to talk to please pm me, I'm happy to listen to you. You really do have so much on right now, is there anything you're able to cut back on? Even just a few days would help. You really do need time to process.

LostMyBaubles · 09/03/2018 07:14

Ah bad so youve experience of this.
This is the first time ive had H and its my 4th pregnancy so it was a shock being sick so much!
The cyclizine used to make me feel sleepy thankfully thats wore off now

mummyvb127 · 09/03/2018 07:39

Like lost, I am also 14 weeks and suffering badly with Hyperemesis, this is also my 4th pregnancy but I have never had this before. I am on cyclizine and also Prochlorperazine. I’m currently signed off work and have massive respect for those that can still semi function whilst dealing with this, I just can’t. Surely it has to stop soon.

Roeslein · 09/03/2018 09:01

Very sorry to hear about all the ladies feeling unwell. I've been having headaches (thankfully there's paracetamol!) and my vision is even more rubbish than usual (struggling to read smaller fonts on slides in conference rooms) but otherwise I feel pretty lucky overall! I hope you all feel better soon.

So, I finally talked to my boss! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and starting to show, so was keen to get it done before people start guessing, but she was always busy and travelling. In the end had to do it through videoconference.

Anyway, she was great - very supportive, she has two teenagers herself including one she had shortly after joining the company so I guess that didn't hurt! Feeling like a weight has been lifted to be honest.

I work from home on Fridays so can wear maternity jeans (the Gap ones in my normal Gap size, if anyone's curious) which is great. Been wearing tailored clothes to work - I have a couple of skirts and dresses that are too big normally so been wearing those, but they are starting to feel constrictive. I think I may have to switch to stretchy stuff and maternity fairly soon, even though it still feels really early.

dingdongdigeridoo · 09/03/2018 12:45

I'm really sorry about your loss Mona. It must be hard to deal with a bereavement at this time.

Glad your boss was ok roselin. My best ever boss was a woman with teenagers. She was so good about accommodating flexible working and understanding about needing time off for school plays etc. I now have a 30-something single man as a boss and I'm sure he thinks I'm a pain in the arse!

mumallgirls · 10/03/2018 19:00

Hiya. Can I cautiously join you? I am due, all being well on the 10th of sept. I have been bleeding on off for the last 7 weeks. I have had 5 scans, all seems well so far.

honeyice · 11/03/2018 10:32

Hi everyone! I've been keeping an eye on the September threads and have finally got around to posting.. I am due to have our second baby on 7th Sept, little bit earlier than planned (our little girl is only 14 months) but hoping it will be easier than people keep trying to tell me to have two under 2! All scans have been fine so far (had an early one before telling family and then my dates put me as an August due date so had to go back again to have the nuchal scan done) and I've been very lucky with very few pregnancy symptoms so hoping things continue like that. Hope that all of you who have been suffering with morning sickness start to feel better soon x

LostMyBaubles · 11/03/2018 11:52
