Hello! Really enjoying these threads - adding myself on, currently 11+1, due 20/09/2018 :)

Scan on 12th March which still seems ages away, had an 8 week scan though and all well, little flashing heartbeat there!

CheekyPearl · 02/03/2018 12:22

These scans are all so wonderful! It is really becoming real! (I've just been lurking since the first thread while this all settles in!) I have no light on the tummy on mine so intrigued to see whether it is a boy!

They also found a 7-8cm cyst on my ovary which explained my stomach aches if I slept on my left side. I read some of you have also got cysts, have you had pain/discomfort?

HannahJH · 02/03/2018 18:32

What about this one?

Sickness has started again. So back on the meds

CuppaSarah · 03/03/2018 12:08

I'm still here! I've not had flutters for a couple days, but I;ve been having a tough few days mental healthwise. Being stuck in does me in, I need ltos of fresh air and excersise.

I'm telling my mum on Monday. Not looking forward to it, but as I'm surprising her with a scan she should take it well. Maybe. Can never tell with her.

Orange3618 · 03/03/2018 12:37

Hi there. New to this, as I’m pregnant for the first time at 22. Was just wanting to reach out to other Mums or Mums to be. I’m currently 12 weeks, and I’m still waiting for my dating scan appointment, is it usually this late? My friend had hers done by now. ☺️

Orange3618 · 03/03/2018 12:46

I’m due 14/09/2018- already had an 8 week scan 😊

Shook2018 · 03/03/2018 13:10

@orange3618 it does seem pretty late, although not sure if having an early scan changes things. Maybe give them a call see when you can expect it, as some tests need to be done before a certain date?

@cheekypearl mine measured only 2.5cm so not causing too much discomfort but sometimes twinging?

Anyone else going utterly stir crazy? I'm banned from going out in this snow because I'm a clutz at the best of times and it's driving me mad we're completely snowed in 😔

Orange3618 · 03/03/2018 13:18

We went private for the first scan because I’m a worrier! Everything looked fine. I’ve had blood tests and the pee samples etc. Literally just waiting for a letter to tell me when I can have my scan- but I’m 13 weeks next week and time seems to be cracking on, just want to see that everything is okay again. Maybe will give them a call to see what’s going on. Thanks!

Yep, I’m also getting cabin fever, I was banished from going out in the snow too because my other half just knows I’ll be a clutz and fall- which I would haha! But it’s cleared up a bit now so I’m going out!! Yay! Fingers crossed the snow goes away for you too 😊

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/03/2018 13:42

Private scans seem to be very popular now. 12 weeks is a long time to wait. My American cousins got dating scans as soon as they got a BFP, plus seem to have a lot more growth scans etc.

Can't face going outside today as I'm worried about slipping on an icy pavement!

Sals27 · 03/03/2018 13:58

Hi orange you're due one day before me, I'm expecting my first too. My scan is next Wednesday. Maybe give them a ring and a chase up on Monday.

I love the snow! I'm off to the alps in a few weeks and planning/hoping to do some snowboarding if I can. Nothing full on just a couple of casual green runs. Taking it easy. Will depend how I feel of course.

LostMyBaubles · 03/03/2018 13:58

Good luck cuppa
For the first time my mun sounded excited this morning. Suppose the effect wears out when its your 4th lol

Welcome orange. I had my scan at 13+2
Was going to be 14+2 but had the nuchal so that changed things a bit.
When you have an early scan it does change things a little as youre not really priority as you have some dates

Been deep cleaning kids room. Nesting kicking in!

kirinm · 03/03/2018 14:18

I don't think a private scan changes anything. None of my EPU scans changed anything either. Orange if you want screening, I'd start chasing as you need the measurements taken before 13+6 or you'll be too late for the nuchal translucency scan. You can do other tests if you miss it so not the end of the world.

LostMyBaubles · 03/03/2018 14:50

Didnt see the private scan bit lol

Here in manchester if youve had early scans and youve been dated they wont give another scan for dating. I was dated at 6/7 weeks and was told dont need another scan unless I ask for nuchal fold tests etc which I did so I could have a scan, and the cut off date here is 14+1 for screenings.

Been waiting by my mobile incase I get a phonecall

kirinm · 03/03/2018 15:03

Lost that seems to contradict everything I've read of the nuchal fold test. Here they make quite a big point of it needing to be done before 14 weeks. I can't understand how different trusts have such differing views. I'll favour the view of my hospital especially since the guy who designed the screening works at the hospital.

The scan thing is confusing too. Did you get offered an early scan that wasn't through the EPU? My first non emergency scan was the dating scan offered at 12w6d. Didn't know there was one offered earlier.

LostMyBaubles · 03/03/2018 15:22

The hosp is a centre of excellence according to their website and defo the best in the area. I dont have a clue why they would leave it so late? Maybe as they are always so busy getting everyone scanned might have been the issue, have read upto 14 weeks online. Its the first time I had it done as I just wanted another scan lol

Ive had 4 scans so far. 2 very early. Was dated. One around 10ish weeks due to bleed and the lady who scanned me said i didmt need another scan for dating as dates have been done.

Will prob have another scan soon to check kidneys and they check baby over then too.

CuppaSarah · 03/03/2018 16:33

Just got a consultant appointment through for about 20 weeks. Never been consultant led before so a bit confused. I assumed I'd see them occasionally instead of the midwife, but didn't think I was due to see anyone at 20 weeks.

LostMyBaubles · 03/03/2018 17:04

I see the consultant next week.

Will prob be put on aspirin and long term antibiotics
I feel things seem more real!

Fia256 · 03/03/2018 17:11

Sorry all I'm not being ignorant! My MN seems to be having a complete meltdown! It wouldn't send my posts through and I also can't see any pictures!

Fia256 · 03/03/2018 17:16

@CuppaSarah I've always been consultant led with my pregnancies as I have a heart condition. This time I'll be adding the hypertension onto that too. My spots are always at or around the same time as 20w scan. I actually don't find it makes a huge difference being consultant led. Last time I saw the consultant maybe once or twice, I don't even remember, and then got a growth scan (totally inaccurate that was too) at 36 weeks!

Fia256 · 03/03/2018 17:16

Appts not spots Hmm

CuppaSarah · 03/03/2018 17:34

To be fair FIA I'm getting lots of spots already Grin

CuppaSarah · 03/03/2018 17:35

Oh I just ordered my free baby box from baby box university. I only paid shipping. I'll let you guys know if it's worthwhile. I was going to buy one anyway so if it fits the bill I'll be thrilled.

LostMyBaubles · 03/03/2018 17:57

Oh cuppa I wish i could get one 😭😭😭

Dont do them here??

Spots. I was riddled with them first pregnancy thankfully only have the odd 1.

Fia is it working any better now?? Was going to say log in and out

CuppaSarah · 03/03/2018 18:29

Lost if you google baby box university, sign up, click through the 22 videos and answer a common sense quiz about safe sleeping, breastfeeding etc. then you pay shipping and get it. Only costs your time and personal information! It takes a few weeks to arrive apparently. But we shall see.
