bumper....wish I could add somehting, but Derlor and Foxy have summed it up really. ((((((((hugs))))))))) to you. It is scary, and it is overwhelming, and yes....that bay has got to come out and I think what you are feeling is just a natural stage of pregnancy and part of your mind/body preparing itself for the changes to come. You'll get through it and you'll be a better person for having gone through it.

I've been full of doubts as well the last few days, like "OMG what the fuck have we done!!!!" I think it might be a final hormonal rush or something, and have been having a go at DH as it seems to be all down to me to sort things out. I think men just deal with it differently, it doesn't mke them a worse parent.

Your own kids, like the other two have said, are fucking brilliant, and you will love this one more than you thought you could ever love anything in yor entire life (even more than chocolate and red wine )

Keep talking to your DH though....and more ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) from me

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:23

MORE than chocolate?

Shit.

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:27

Well...I suppose if I was forced to make the choice, I would have to go with DS......but he's a small boy and usually has chocolate about his person, or in the jar on top of the fridge/freezer, so.....not much of a sacrifice

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:28

Not sure about the red wine though.....

Are you smiling yet Bumper?.......

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:32

Just to make sure Bumper smiles, I'll tell you this:

as I was getting out of the bath tonight contemplating my mass, my hands on the roll-top hauling myself up - my NECK made a farty noise!

didn't think I'd put on THAT much

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:34

Are you sure it was your neck?

bumperlicious · 06/05/2007 21:35
Grin
foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:36

yes

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:39

I feel like the proverbial beached whale, can't get comfy at all in bed, or on a chair or on the sofa, my rampant sex drive has fucked off somewhere else and I found a hair growing from my nipple yesterday

And my DS sweetly looked at me today after cuddling up to me and said "mummy, your boobies smell funny"

The joys of being pregnant!!

Not sure on reading that that will make you feel better Bumper, but.....

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:42

ha ha! I freaked mine out today with colostrum!! that'll teach them to ask so many questions!

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:44

did you tell them , or show them? DS is quite fascinated, but I'm not feeling that brave as he'll only tell everyone he meets...he's got his mothers gift of the gab!!

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 21:45

Only meant to drop by quickly, but hooked by the live birth thread.....DH has a friend over so I'm being a bit rude here, but....what can you do, it's a live birth!!

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:49

Oh I know! I was going to bed then I saw it. I think she'll be a bit busy now though...

I showed them, I was in the bath with them and they were asking what the blue lines were, why my boobies were that colour (brown nipples, nothing freaky!) etc. So I showed them, they were bewildered.

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:49

And here comes the heartburn - right on time

foxybrown · 06/05/2007 21:56

its all gone quiet, am going to make a break for it before I get drawn in ...

night all xx

derlor · 06/05/2007 22:02

oh have you all gone????????
i got caught up reading this and just thought FARKING HELL!!!!!!

derlor · 06/05/2007 22:09

HELLO????
anyone here?
drums fingers and feels a wee bit lonely............

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 22:14

Sorry Derlor....just off reading that thread.....oooh its all a bit shouty over there isn't it? Makes my wee life look very quiet and boring, but ????? Can't figure if it's for real or not or just someone having a wind up!

Been off being the hostess as DH has a friend over, but he has virtual friends too, so licence to come back on really

derlor · 06/05/2007 22:16

Hi daisy, have you had a good day?
i just thought that thread was weird - not sure about it either

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 22:17

Oh well...if you've gone now...only had three and a half hours sleep last night and am dead on my poor wee feet, so off to bed....with the gaviscon as heartburn kicking in with me too. Regretting that curry now!!

Daisybump · 06/05/2007 22:20

You're still there....yeah it was as good as can be expected after so littel sleep. Ds remarkably restrained considering he's fretting for something. got my new pjs for the hospital bag....so I'm all set...just got to pack and that'll be me!

Getting scary.

Can't understand posts like that...what was she expecting...everyone to say, yes that's fine we all did the same, have a hug??

Right gotta go...no doubt I'll be checking in tomorrow at some point, although we've got lots of herbs to plant and a small child to entertain.

derlor · 06/05/2007 22:21

night Daisy - hope you have a restful sleep x

riabutterflew · 06/05/2007 22:49

Do you think there is an easier way to be PG? Would it be a more joyous experience without the gigantic hormonal wobblies and heartburn and cramp...?

foxy and derlor summed it up with their comments bumper, but if it's any help, even your own kids wind you up beyond belief at times, but when they've gone to sleep and are all sleepy and innocent in their beds when you check on them, you'll forgive them ANYTHING (even drawing on the freshly painted walls in red crayon), and as it happens I also find other peoples children irritate the living hell out of me most of the time (even my own nieces and nephews). I get the impression that being a grandparent is the best deal of all, so we have that to look forward to!

My Mum helpfully tried to sort out my children today and told them that if they carry on acting like this when there is a new baby mummys hair will be completely white like grannies. Bless her! (Must put dying hair on list of things to do...)

Goodnight ladies. I have my super-clear-out car boot sale tomorrow (with DS1, my sister and my niece...) wish me luck!

bumperlicious · 07/05/2007 09:05

Morning all. What a grim bank holiday. I knew this good weather was going to be short-lived! Bet that's it now for the summer - and I had my maternity leave planned around getting a nice tan!

Up early again, just soooo uncomfortable at night. It's getting to the point where I dread going to bed because I just wake up all the time with pains in my back, hips and pelvis. Still, hopefully on 6 weeks to go.

God some of you can't have long? Less than 3 weeks? Arrgghhh!

annobal · 07/05/2007 09:26

Morning all, also up early due to DS2 - I was feeling generous and got up with him to let DH sleep in...

at the thread Derlor - it made very interesting reading !!! I've read a few others by that poster and do wonder how 'true' her posts are

Horrid weather here too - think we might be going to the gym to take the kids swimming. Glad that the mowing was done yesterday as the garden looks so much better - now just need to do something about the weeds - think that might be for another bank holiday.

Bumper I have another 8 weeks to go - the time will fly by though - I think it's so difficult towards the end so that when the baby is born you are so relieved that it is easy by comparison
