It might scare them off Holly...they'd never want to visit again

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 20:29

Butter bombs are the bestest things in the world. They are smaller than most of the lush bombs and they are made with coco butter. They small yummy and coat your skin in a layer of lovely moisturer! Butterbomb !

Hmm Daisy - sorry to annoy you with my talk of forbidden treats - tho rice cakes can be very satisfying actually...?

OK my Lush balls (ooh err) are "tisty tosty,' 'waving not drowning,' 'butterfly ball,' and 'butterball.' Does that help at all? Would the butterball be the pink or the cream-coloured one? And who the hell thinks UP these names anyway? The same people who write cards for Clintons and label eyeshadows??

TALLULAHBELLE · 05/05/2007 20:30

Put your foot down Holly. You need your rest and time to spend with your wee girl before new baby arrives -not on washing pishy sheets.

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 20:30

Oooo...good idea! Maybe the mooing and grunting and blood will put them right off! They'll never be able to look at me again!

ah Holly many thanks for the website link. My God these are the ingredients in the Butterfly ball:

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Jasmine Flowers (Jasminum officinale), Cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus), Larkspur Flower (Delphinium consilida), Everlasting Flower Absolute (Gnaphalium uliginosum), Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Limonene, Colour 18050, Fabric Butterfly.

I think at least 10 of those would cause some major disruptions down below!!!!!

Daisybump · 05/05/2007 20:32

Doesn't matter, Lilkel....DH has just appeared with a magnum (not mint) and a 150g bar of galaxy

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 20:33

I wouldn't fancy having a bath with many fabric butterflies either! The butterball and the tisty tosty look ok though, they don't have many ingredients and are pretty natural.

Wow daisy, your dh is obv some sort of god !!

derlor · 05/05/2007 20:34

Holly - i'm with Tallulah - foot down, no way hosey - you may be the one pissing the sheets by then anyway!!!! - NEVER sneeze whilst sleeping!!!!

Daisybump · 05/05/2007 20:34

You could always recycle them as a Christmas present, Lilkel....just don't give them back to who-ever gave them to you

notsolilKel · 05/05/2007 20:35

mmmm Magnum much better than the crap 'skinny cow' mint ice cream I had last night (was all DH could find at the Sainsbury's apparently). Personally I thought the whole skinny cow reference was just a bit un-funny...!!

derlor · 05/05/2007 20:36

mmmm mint vienetta was good - not as much chocolate in it as there used to be when i was little though i'd say - like the amazing shrinking creme eggs!!! IS THERE A CHOCOLATE SHORTAGE OR SOMETHING?????

Daisybump · 05/05/2007 20:37

holly.....to be diplomatic, can you say provisionally yes, but reserve the right to change your mind if you feel that things might start to happen?

No, he's not a god, he just recognises the scary hormonal fruitcake look in my eye an knows that all things galaxy act like a sort of tranquiliser dart

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 20:38

I'm going to sit down with dp tomorrow with the calender and work something out. I can't believe how little time there is left and dd's birthday is on the 21st and dp is away for a week from the 20th! AARRRGGGGHHH!! I have got nothing organised!

Daisy are you doing your ds a party? His birthday is soon isn't it?

OP posts:
Daisybump · 05/05/2007 20:41

LOL at skinny cow....the way my hormones are raging I think DH would've been walking funny after trying that one on me!!

Had a magnum lite the other day as the ice-cream van didn;t have regular... ice cream OK, but the chocolate flavour coating was pants....there should be a law against low fat/low sugar/low taste treats...if you're going to treat yourself, just treat yourself....

Righty ho...off to watch casualty and CSI, then earlyish bed...nighty night

Daisybump · 05/05/2007 20:45

The jury is still out on a party for DS....if his behaviour doesn't improve, then definately No, but in reality we'll do something, even if its just a few friends and their kids over for a barbecue. He's going Karting at the local sports centre holiday playscheme a few days after as well....thinking that could be his special birthday treat (what a skinflint...it only cost £3.70 for an hours karting)

Or, for the stress and trouble free option....book wacky warehouse or some such place where they feed them sugar and e-numbers and let them run riot for a couple of hours

I'm off....

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 20:46

Maybe I'll have an adult friends party, dd doesn't really like children anyway!! Thanks daisy, night xx

Holly, what a farking 'mare! I go with Daisy the Diplomats suggestion tho' - a provisional "yes". If they don't come then and you go over by 2 weeks, that's 5 weeks he hasn't seen them ... doesn't sound so bad after all . But what if you are late and then he can't hold off anylonger? Saying yes to the 37 week visit could be the difference between having to say yes to them visiting when the newbie is days old.

So, say yes, make plans for any eventuality and then trade it off for a 'free' weekend after the baby's born. IMHO.

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 21:16

I suppose there's not much chance of me popping at 37 weeks, not if dd was anything to go by!! And I suppose once they've gone then it's all done and dusted and I can get on with preparing. Maybe we can do one night instead of two. Much less stressful.

You had a good day foxy?

OP posts:
derlor · 05/05/2007 21:18

good idea Holly a compromise of 1 night might just be the answer
surely they won't be expecting to stay for a long while after the LO arrives???

hollyandalice · 05/05/2007 21:24

Hey derlor, hope you are having a good relax!

Well...last time they came to stay about a week after dd was born! Then a week later we moved house. 2 weeks after that they came to stay for a whole week as dp's dad was with us for 2 weeks from oz! That was the most stressful time of my life! No wonder most of my hair fell out!!

This time they can come down for a day and maybe a night quite soon after so they can meet their new bro, but after that they will have to stay away for a while!

notsolilKel · 05/05/2007 21:25

GRRRRRRRRR

I had had such a pleasant dinner with DH just now, and was about to curl up & go to sleep in slightly Stella-induced bliss (perhaps with a slice of mint Viennetta myself), when some stupid idiotic kids buzzed our doorbell 7/8 times as they walked past!! (it's really loud). Cue madly barking dog (ours) and DS starts crying in his room... GAHHHH stupid kids!!!! I felt like chasing them down and kicking their asses!!!! Would have been a great sight eh? Huge heifer of pg woman attempts to do battle with 9 teenagers. Humph!

(rant nearly over)

Ok now I know I'm all dried up and old, having just said all that, but honestly, the irritation is just making my bp soar!!!!

(ok rant over)

foxybrown · 05/05/2007 21:25

Good idea, that's a good compromise! Perhaps DP could take the boys and DD out and you could have treat or a rest?

I've had a good day, thanks. Amazing what a decent sleep can do for motivation. Took kids swimming, fed them well, got on with my jobs on my 'list', my sis brought my dinner round (with ice cream!) and the best thing of all which is a miracle - MY CHILDREN WENT TO SLEEP WHEN I TOLD THEM TO!!!

Worst thing, the fucking rodents are taking the piss now. They have avoided the humane traps, ignored the ultrasonic repellents (never, ever bother, £30 quid, fucking waste of money grrrrr), they'd better start scoffing the poison. I thought they'd buggered off, but I caught them pointing and sniggering at me. Gonna sit up with mah shot gun tonight!

foxybrown · 05/05/2007 21:26

wanna borrow my shotgun, Lilkel?
