ARRGGHHHH!! I go away for a few hours and you lot don't stop gassing!!

Have been asleep for a while and missed lunch, so am now scoffing large amounts of pasta! Luckily I fed dd before our nap! I'm quite concerned about the amount I've been sleeping over the past week. I think maybe I've been catching up on lost sleep from dp snoring, weeing every hour etc. Am going to get my bloods done tomorrow to make sure I'm not anaemic.

Am going to try and catch up and eat at the same time!!

BadZelda · 01/05/2007 15:29

This Sunday does not suit me, TBH - was thinking more later in the month...and a weekday i.e. during Mat leave?

Don't think we need partners do we? Just mums and kids would be better...though appreciate some people might find it easier to get to S London if chauffeured...

Hello Rabbitbreath...mind if I ask why the nickname, or does it just reflect a propensity for verbals?

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 15:31

DH and I have been together for 8 1/2 years, so this baby is such a wanted ray of sunshine in our lives!!

We plan to have a second one but are thinking about waiting 3 or 4 years before we have number 2 - spreading the costs (university etc) and also enjoying the first one to the max!

Not sure whether there is a right or a wrong but this is the current plan.

derlor · 01/05/2007 15:32

hey chicks think i will send down a photo of myself so i can be at your meet up too!!!
anyone fancy a holiday to Scotland! - it's lovely and sunny here

derlor · 01/05/2007 15:33

oh shit just realised i forgot to post a letter - need to go to the post office now - bet the thread is at 400 by the time i get back!!!!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 15:33

Does Scotland ever have sun? I thought it just rained !!

Rabbitbreath · 01/05/2007 15:34

hi BadZelda

'reflect a propensity for verbals' - being Afrikaans (my native language) is this an insult - i.e. meaning I talk a lot or what does this mean?

just a cute name I think - nothing specific

derlor · 01/05/2007 15:35

Cheeky - we've had hot sunny weather for 4 days now!!!!! ooooooooohh shorts and t-shirts a-gogo!! not me though obviously THAT would be obscene

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 15:41

Can't be arsed to read every post, have just skimmed!

Still up for Sunday foxy, though I'm certainly not bringing my dp! How am I going to slag him off if he's there?

Re. bibs, I prefer poppers instead of velcro. Mainly because if you forget to fasten them in the wash the velcro gets stuck to everything and you have to rip it off leaving laddered tights and bobbly knitwear!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 15:53

no worries, BZ, later in the month suits me too. Preferably on a school day!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 15:54

i got a delivery from Kiddicare - how exciting! more stuff for the babe

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 15:56

Oooo foxy what did you buy? Thought for a second there that I was billy no mates as everyone stopped talking when I came on! Maybe I just smell!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 16:08

Meant to say, thank you for the shorts SO cute! I saw a bandana in H&M this morning which would go really well. I wanted to buy it but had nothing to go with it - then when I got home, the perfect match! You are a star (and I now have your address so can stalk you - double bonus!)

my puschair accessory pack, and some newborn bottles came today.

am so nearly there!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:13

That's ok, any time! We can stalk each other! Is the accessory pack good? How co-ordinated of you to get everything matching! My stuff doesn't match at all, maybe that's because they don't do Cath Kidston buggies! Wow, I may just email Cath and suggest it to her!

BadZelda · 01/05/2007 16:15

Hey RB

in slang english 'rabbiting' means chatting a lot 'propensity for verbals' is just me saying that you like to talk - .

My plan was to have a bigger gap between kids, but I'm not v good at contraception...hence there will only be 2.5 years...still as Ella is pretty self sufficient / sensible / good at communicating, so maybe it will feel like she's older and I won't be dealing with 2 'babies' at the same time.

Bit frustrated by work today...still only another 5 days in the orifice and then I'll be 'working' at home. As my work day yesterday consisted mostly of me napping and avoiding work through reading MN, I'm not sure whether it's better to be honest and throw in the towel at the end of next week!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 16:26

Nah, BZ, milk it for all you can.

Holly, its only a matter of time before there are CK buggies, however your child will be 10 before you take delivery!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:28

Too true foxy!

How rude of my dp to not be here to bring me chocolate home from work! I may actually have to go out and get some myself!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 16:35

really? You'd do that? Go out again? now? at tea time?

actually I have to go and pick up DS1 from his playdate after school. Seems like a real hassle!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:42

Hassle indeed! I might just phone my mum and get her to pick me up on her way home from work! That way she gets to see Alice and I get to have lots of free food! Winners all round!

foxybrown · 01/05/2007 16:50

thought your dp was away? I was worried when you disappeared last night - thought something had happened to DD having eaten the hair slide!
Oooh, I'm such an old woman!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:53

Yeah, he is away til tomorrow, hence I want to go to my parents' after being alone for one night! I'm such a wimp ! Sorry for dissapearing! Everyone seemed to come back on after I'd gone to strip the wallpaper.

derlor · 01/05/2007 16:54
  • just back from post office - in itself not too stressful. was on my way out earlier when MIL arrived - she suggested looking after LO's so i could go to post office myself - great (or so i thought) i arrive back to find DD (3 years old) with an ENORMOUS egg on her head - screaming blue murder after running home from my neighbours house alone, where she had aparantly been the entire time i was away and my MIL LAUGHED SAYING "I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHERE SHE WAS!!!!!!!!!!" WTF
hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:54

Hair slide update- No sign of it yet, but there's always the evening poo and tomorrow morning's!! Sorry if TMI!

hollyandalice · 01/05/2007 16:55

WTF derlor! Nice to know you can trust your MIL!

derlor · 01/05/2007 16:56

oops forgot to say she fell on the pavement while running hame and smashed her head - i know that could happen anytime but it didn't it happened when MIL was in charge and didn't even know where she was for half a fucking hour!!!!!!!!!
