Welcome to the new thread, how long until we get up to 1000 posts ????
Please note that I have put scan and due date stats in a different thread in case you are looking for them.

Congrats on scans.

Mmoomar, please don't be too sad at the possibility of a cs. it really isn't that bad. the thought hadn't even entered my head until one of the mw's mentioned it while i was already in labour. I hope you are able to give birth the way you want to but if it is looking like a cs, ask your mw about how many people will be in the room. fortunately my mw demonstrated this at an nct class and i was so glad that she had, otherwise i would've panicked that something was extremely wrong when about a dozen medical professionals swarmed into the delivery suite. good luck

kinki · 30/04/2007 14:00

I'm with you Holly, I was told at 12 weeks that mine is probably a boy too, (and again at 14 weeks). Mind you the chinese predictor says girl. I've got another 3 weeks yet until my next scan. I'm pleased the scans are going well for everyone. Good luck to those coming up.

sophus · 30/04/2007 14:26

Thanks for the punching, weeing, sex support.

If pregnancy (and encouragement from MN) is an adeqaute defence in court there are a few others i might take out whilst i am at it.

Great news on scans and good luck for any coming ones this week. I am convinced I am having a boy, although would like a girl mainly because it would annoy the in-laws.

xx

Hello again

Thanks for the welcome and for adding me to the stats post. I've added some more details and my next scan date on there now. But I've just realised I've put my age down as 31 when I'm actually only 30 at the moment!

Hopeitwontbebig - thanks for the welcome. I am a Green Wing fan, but the name is just because my name's Caroline and I am a Dr (not a medical one though).

Just a little more information in case anyone's interested:

I live in Hove but I work up in London hence the train and bus or tube travel. My due date is 21st September and it's my first baby so everything's totally new and my next scan is in 2 weeks' time on 16th May.

I'm sure I'll be back with questions soon!

canadianmum · 30/04/2007 19:22

Congrats Edie and Mmoomar - can't believe another girl - surely we should level out to 50/50 at some point???

Sophus - there is a little evil rebellious part of me that secretly wants a third boy just to piss off all of the grandparents who are dying to buy pink and say "isn't she sweeeeeeet!" 400 times a day . There is also the fact that I can't bear the colour pink or little dolls with pretend nappies or those hideous polyester princess dresses that little girls seem to adore. Then again, it would be nice to have a child who didn't pretend to shoot everyone that we walk past on the way to school .

2 weeks until my scan but I finally have my second antenatal appt. tomorrow. How many antenatal appts have others had so far???

MMooMar · 30/04/2007 20:50

Evening all,

canadianmum,I know what you mean about pink stuff...yuk!I think if I have a girl it will be a tomboy as I am not that girly either ,preferring jeans,t,shirts and combats to dresses and skirts.Never liked dolls and stuff like that when I was little either.
Not fussed though what we have and will probably conform to the pink fluffy stuff if I had to and another girl in the house would be nice I suppose as even the dog is male!

Do tend to agree with DP though and think it may be another lad .

Welcome on board clainne, cant believe our September family is still growing even at the half way mark!
You are due the same date as me too.

MMooMar · 30/04/2007 20:51

FilBrit and LoopyLouLisa ,good luck with the scans tomorrow.

sophus · 01/05/2007 09:19

i think if i have a girl i will encourage her to be really girlie and dress her in pink from morning to night. I was a total tomboy (still am really) and all my mother ever did was encourage me to read Shakespeare and discuss politics (for which i am v. grateful), so much so that i didn't learn one single thing about being a girl until i was about 35 and discovered waxing and make-up and looking hot.
Sure there is a balance in there somewhere.

Hopeitwontbebig · 01/05/2007 09:39

Good luck Filbrit and Loopyloulisa for your scans today

Welcome aboard clainne!! I've added you to our stats thread.

Canadianmum your post did make me laugh about having another boy to piss the family off!!! I've never thought of it that way.. he he! Maybe I'll do the same?? But.... is this the month for girls or what!

Right, I have only 2 days to buy this dress OOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! Can't get to shops today. I bloody hate clothes shopping at the best of times, let alone when I'm fat, lumpy and pregnant! Gonna hit Milton Keynes tomorrow - busy busy busy yuk!

hannahsaunt · 01/05/2007 10:16

The anti-girl thing here (which is putting it a bit strongly, really) is simply because then our dc pattern would be the same as that of MIL which is of course perfect!! And our 2 boys are just her sons reincarnated...does my head in!

hannahsaunt · 01/05/2007 10:17

And - PLEASE - everyone fingers crossed that the ultrasound person WILL tell us what it is (and that the wee soul complies and parts it's legs obligingly). Up against the new policy of don't ask, don't tell here.

auschick · 01/05/2007 10:28

Add me to the scan list for today. Wasn't too nervous until this morning as I am trying to catch up on all the news from the past weeks here...now I'm reasonably petrified. Had not so good results from the combined bloods at 12 weeks, so have tried to think about things other than pregnancy since then.

Must go shopping - trying to think about other things hasn't helped my clothes to fit

atalantis · 01/05/2007 11:09

Haven't posted for ages, but thought I'd add myself to the scan dates and results thread just to even things out a bit -- it's a boy!

kinki · 01/05/2007 11:54

Auschick, hope the scan goes well for you today. Sounds like its been a long few weeks for you. And hey, so what if clothes don't fit - if we can't get away with it now, when can we? I'm bulging all over the place at the moment, haven't had time or cash to get maternity stuff yet. I really am like a sack of knobbly potatoes. Anyway, here's hoping everythings ok for you.

Hopeitwontbebig · 01/05/2007 13:11

Auschick - best of luck for your scan today.

Atalantis - congrats on your scan result!

Nicki10 · 01/05/2007 13:15

Hi Girls

Well Im back from my parents and it was a glorious weekend. We had several BBQ's and the Pimms was flowing although not for me!.

Well Poppy's really kicking now especially at night at at the most inconveniant moment when me and DP are getting cuddly. I have to say it has completely put me off being cuddly. It seems very odd and off putting to be doing that when it always makes her kick like crazy!

Good luck to all the people with scans today.

Pennypops · 01/05/2007 13:54

Good luck to all with scans today.

Sophus - I am sure my DH has trouble conceptually reconciling sex with his knowledge that there is a baby in there. i think most blokes do. I compensate with my raunchy dreams about workmates, one of whom is sat next to me as I type!!

As for the weeing at inopportune moments - I think puking and weeing at the same time was one of my personal low spots of pregnancy thus far so I sympathise. Pelvic floors make not one jot of difference. I think its the hormones softening everything up in preparation for the big day!

Welcome Clainne! Hope I haven't scared you too much.....

FilBrit · 01/05/2007 14:30

Just back home from my scan (have given work the impression it will take all afternoon so can't go back in - . It all went really well and we're having another little girl! We're really thrilled (even though DH initally wanted a boy but thankfully got over that in about 2 mins!), we already have one dd so I now need to remember where I stored my favourite baby oufits from when she was tiny!

Scan also showed that my placenta is really low so looks like it'll be a c-section, but I'm not too bothered and when I had my DD, the whole experience was awful (edited lowlights were a 36 hour labour, a rather brutal forceps delivery and Sophia taking over a minute to resusitate after she was born) so at least this way I know it'll be quick!

Auschick and loopylouisa I really hope your scans went well - let us know how you got on...

I've also just found out that we've been invited to a v posh wedding at the end of June, so am now going to look back at our thread to get some ideas as to where to get a wedding outfits from!

FilBrit · 01/05/2007 14:36

Good luck Clainne and Hannahsaunt for your scans tomorrow

Filbrit x

Hi guys,

Just got my laptop back with its spacebar fixed. Haven't been on for ages. Will just catch up and post again later Just had to say that we have waaaaaaay more ppl on our thread than April. It looks like less cos not everyone has put their scan dates on the stats thread. Ours is over 70 ppl, they only have a paltry 58 .

Of course not such a good thing when we come to give birth

Oh, congrats on all those who've had their scans...kinki and I seem to have the longest wait for ours

xx

EllieKthePA · 01/05/2007 14:51

just you wait, we had loads more til Maternity Leave took hold, then they all got lives

kinki · 01/05/2007 15:13

Yeah, I noticed that laksa, us bringing up the rear. It feels like half the board will be ready to deliver by the time we get to have our scans! I'll be about 22.5 weeks when I have it. Not quite sure how that happened, I thought it was supposed to be at 20 weeks. Did you notice that even some October girls are being scanned before us. Its not fair. [stamps foot]
