Poppy 34 - If it is any help I emailed Gap customer service in the US and they told me they stock the new maternity range at Oxford street, Guildford, High St Kensington and Leeds.

Went to High street Ken on Friday (took a sneaky day off work and typically the weather was a bit greyer than I would have liked, Still did manage a spot of maternity shopping in Gap. Hennes was also marvellous and I got 2 jersey skirts in Kew which hopefully will stretch for at least a few months. Work clothes are the hardest - I work in Marketing so not quite suits but fairly smart. Anyone had success with smarter/work type clothes?

EdieMcredie · 29/04/2007 10:18

We went shopping for our holiday yesterday. I bought two nice tops in Bloomin Marvellous but the rest in New Look

They had some real bargains in there such as linen trousers for £16, and they were maternity. I'm a real bargain spotter when it comes to clothes and only ever buy cheap stuff, well mainly. The linen trousers in BM were £35 which I just think is too much seeing as they are mat and I won't be wearing them once baby is born.

Anyway can't wait to go, and take advantage of the all-inclusive menu. Will probably come back 2 stone heavier!

Got my scan tomorrow, a bit nervous! Wish me luck everybody. We won't be finding out the sex. I think it is a boy but don't know why...

Still can't get over what happened to you Holly29. That is disgusting.

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/04/2007 11:19

Good luck Edie for your scan tomorrow! x x

PS will def have a look in New Look, we've got a really big one where I live

I like a good bargain too

FilBrit · 29/04/2007 11:33

Holly I've just read your post about that evil lady on the bus - I'm so glad she got thrown off!

Edie - Great tip re New Look - I'm going to see if they have any Mat stuff in my local branch - I'e got some nice bits from blooming marvellus and jojomaan baby - but agree some stuff is a bit pricey and bargins are always welcome!

I'm v jealous of all of you near a Gap that does the maternity - I live near Brighton where virtually no shops do the maernitry ranges and I can't be bohered to travel to far to shop!

MMooMar - my husband used to live in Philippines and has lots of family there, althugh we visit often I haven't lived there before (apart from a 3 month extended holiday! which was lovely) I'm actually getting a little worried about the heat though, it's currently 40 degrees and only going to get hotter!

hope you're all enjoying the weekend - I'm off out into the sunshine now!

trinity1 · 29/04/2007 13:09

Hello all, has been a while since last posted and its taken me ages to catch up on all the latest!

Holly - do hope you're ok. I used to live in London and although that kind of behaviour is totally spineless its not unusual. Good on everyone for sticking up for you and the driver for throwing her off the bus!

Just thought I'd add my latest: had my 20 week scan on the 13th April. All is well and am having another girl! DD is now 10 and a half months old and a little terror so am becoming very daunted by the thought of two babies under 2 come September. DP helps out little or not at all so am very stressed out and tearful - sorry to vent but don't know who else to vent to! xxx

MMooMar · 29/04/2007 18:25

Hi All,
Edie ,it`s you and me tommorrow at last....Good luck!

Sorry for the sort post going out in a mo ,catch you all later.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

EdieMcredie · 29/04/2007 19:04

Trinity1-Feel free to vent, that is what we are here for! Have you spoken to DP about how you feel?

MMooMar-Good luck for tomorrow, what time is yours?

canadianmum · 29/04/2007 19:31

poppy34 - Gap on Oxford St definitely do maternity, I was there on Friday! Also High St. Ken, and i think Leeds and Guildford.

trinity - this is the place to be if you want to vent. For what it is worth, 2 of my best friends both felt the same way you do and they now each have 3 children and are very happy!! One of them has a supportive DH but the other does not, which obviously makes it harder. Can you speak to your DP and explain that without his support your life is going to be much more difficult and the chances of you becoming ill or depressed are greater - that might shock him into action...... The good news is that your daughters will probably be very close and they will be able to play together and keep each other busy.

Edie and Mmoomar - good luck tomorrow

tina - i struggled with work clothes too (esp as we're likely to be biggest when its hot so may not want the full suit option). Found a skirt and trousers in autograph m&S maternity range (they didn look much on the hanger but are nice when on -they are quite big though

The best place I've found though for work clothes is mamas and papas - bought loads in regent street shop as had nice shirts /suits etc

There are loads of stuff on net (crave) but I like to see things close up as have become very fussy about maternity wear (not keen on some of the tighter jersey stuff for work)

poppy34 · 29/04/2007 19:58

And edie and mmoomar - good luck for tomorrow. My scan on friday and already nervous...

MrsFish · 29/04/2007 20:20

Mini menace - glad scan went well, speak to you soon

I have just got back from a fabulous mini break in Marrakech but am now absolutely knackered, didn't sleep well for the three nights we were away. I so missed my ds son though, cried buckets when I left him with his grandma on thursday, picked him up at 6pm this evening and he wouldn't come to me, I think he was sulking and making me pay for abandoning him He came round after an hour though and I had lots of cuddles and kisses off him before bed. I can't believe how much I missed him, and he seems to have grown up again too in the space of three days

I am 18 wks today and have started to feel little kicks which is reassuring, can' wait till my scan in two weeks

Edie & Mmoomar - good luck for tomorrow

FlossALump · 30/04/2007 07:47

good luck today edie and mmoomar.

Hopeitwontbebig · 30/04/2007 09:25

Trinity1, sorry to hear you're feeling a bit , like others have said, this is the place to vent, we're all ears. I have a lovely friend who has four children, and her husband has never so much as changed a nappy. Sometimes it does get her down... but she's amazing! Wish I could be more like her, she has the patience of a saint!

Good luck Edie and Mmoomar!!! Any more girls I wonder

Well I've got four days left to sort out this bloomin dress, I've lost this Friday because school have decided it's going to be a teachers' training day - joy!

Hey, it's gonna be May tomorrow - yippee..... not that I'm wishing my life away or anything ahum

Hopeitwontbebig · 30/04/2007 09:30

MrsFish, is your due date the 30th then? I've added you on to list, you didn't seem to be on it. If I'm wrong then do amend.

MrsFish · 30/04/2007 09:43

Hi - It could be either the 30th Sept (which I make it) or the 1st Oct which my mw makes it. So I am hedging my bets on both

Hopeitwontbebig · 30/04/2007 09:46

MrsFish Was your DS1 early?

sophus · 30/04/2007 10:10

Venting time

  1. work really, really annoying me. Was on road all last week and now woefully behind so many things, and patronising twit i share and office with needs a punch.
  2. sneezed last night and weed myself - what's that all about, thought that happened after childbirth not before?
  3. DP won't come near me - says "no i'm not in the mood, you're pregnant". I might be pregnant but i'm not dead.

i could go on...

On plus side went to london for fri/sat. Went to theatre Fri night, and galleries on Saturday. Determined to do as much as possible before life goes bonkers.

I got work clothes from Crave (a shop near me stocks them so i could try on).

Hopeitwontbebig · 30/04/2007 10:12

Sophus - punch him punch him punch him

MrsFish · 30/04/2007 10:56

Hopeitwontbebig - no he was 4 days late, but it doesn't mean the next one will be I'm also hoping the next one will be a bit smaller, ds was 8 pound 3

Holly29 · 30/04/2007 11:05

Sophus

If you can't vent at us, who can you vent at?

DH and I had a very sensitive discussion about the subject you raised - more me than him at the moment but it is SO hard to say anything! So I understand.

As for people at work: punch him! (pregnancy hormones).

Hope everyone well. Good luck to scanners today .. (only 8 days to go...)

hannahsaunt · 30/04/2007 11:57

All the best for those having scans today. Mine is on Wednesday; can't decide whether I'm looking forward to it or not. Dh can't believe how quickly this pg is zipping past. Half way tomorrow! (And both others were a week early).

Lovely weekend here once the migraine tablets kicked in (can I just say how fabulous my GP practice is ). Ds2 now wants to call the baby Bakerloo; no prizes where that name came from.

I have great clothes from Blooming Marvellous, Pumpkin Patch and H&M if they are any help.

EdieMcredie · 30/04/2007 12:46

Had my scan, all well, can't belive all that detail! The sonographer saw the baby move by looking at my stomach before he had even started.

We let temptation get the better of us and we found out that it's...ANOTHER GIRL!!!

Good luck Mmoomar!!

LoopyLouLisa · 30/04/2007 13:39

Sophus- really feel for you. dp been the same as yours since we found out, despite reassurances while we were trying that he wouldn't go off me when i got fatter! I keep weeing myself when i'm being sick. when i confessed this to dp he found it hilarious

MMooMar · 30/04/2007 13:43

Hi Ladies,

Edie, glad your scan went well, congrats on the little girl...lovely!

Thanks for all the good luck vibes everyone

Just got back from mine. All is well with LO,on target for my dates.Spine all looks great so very happy with that.Placenta does not seem to have moved any and is now low lying so have to go back on 17th August when I will be 36 weeks (as long as I havent had this one early too ) and they will scan me again to see if it has moved if not could mean a CS.Consultant happy with everything anyway.

Fought the urge to ask about the sex even though we were both trying to see!But DP reckons its another boy anyway but we will see.

XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Holly29 · 30/04/2007 13:48

Edie and MMooMar,

Congrats! We have so many girls now, but I think I might buck the trend as was told at 12 weeks that it was probably a boy. I am SO pleased that all the babies look well and healthy so far.
