I’m so sorry @subo2018

SpriteGirl · 29/01/2018 17:08

@Subo2018 I am so sorry. What a heart breaking thing to have to deal with Flowers

Kiki275 · 29/01/2018 17:11

@Subo2018 So sorry to hear that. Wish there was something we could say to make it better. Take care of yourself x

SmashyCup · 29/01/2018 17:12

@Subo2018 I'm so sorry. I hope you have lots of support around you.

Stephiewoo · 29/01/2018 17:31

Booking in was a bit hit and miss if I'm honest!
My midwife spent most of the time on her phone, and discussed her issues within call, pretty much said I was one of those women who always have children. The student midwife was the same age as my daughter and gave me some lovely advice on breast is best and to always look my baby in the face bullshit bullshit.

Really pissed off with whole process to be honest, I had to give a breath test thing because I'm an ex smoker, over a week now Girls!!!

So yeah, me and DP pretty much pissed off with the whole thing, they wanted to know his ds's addresses and dates of birth etc. I do get it, all to do with the well-being act, child protection etc but blimey. I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT ME AND MY UNBORN BABY FFS!!!
Things change so often in processes, anyway will see her again in March as consultant led thankfully.

peterpanwendy · 29/01/2018 17:31

@k4rlyb wow hope you're ok now :( it's so scary. I fell down the stairs on Xmas morning and it is horrible!

@E2017 @Whichoneisit lovely scans! Bet you're both over the moon.

@Subo2018 so incredibly sorry to hear this :( take care of yourself we're here if you need to talk x

@Gem173 I waited about 3 weeks for my scan date so sounds about right :)

So a few people have told me you have to pay for scan pictures in the NHS, is this true? If so how much did you pay?

I have my scan tomorrow however I'll only be 9+6 (12+3 based on LMP). Thinking they might change my dates again but secretly hoping they don't so I get another scan! I am so excited but also so incredibly anxious. I am coughing so much I feel so under the weather. Feel like I'm gonna upset the baby the amount I am coughing/wrenching.

Stephiewoo · 29/01/2018 17:32

with on call not within call

E2017 · 29/01/2018 17:52

Really sorry to hear your news @Subo2018. Thanks

birdy1978 · 29/01/2018 17:54

So sorry to hear your news Subo. Look after yourself in the coming days xx

milney25 · 29/01/2018 18:02

@Subo2018 I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, have been thinking of you over the weekend.

@peterpanwendy We had to pay £6 per copy for a scan photo if you want one to take home.

@Stephiewoo I had to do a breath test too! I'd given up a year before conceiving, but did admit to a few cheeky smokes before I got my BFP.

Hope your scan goes well this evening @StrawberryLemonade!

YouCantBeSirius · 29/01/2018 18:18

@peterpanwendy we had to pay a donation for scan pictures when I was pregnant with my DD 10 years ago and I expected to do the same this time. Was surprised when the sonographer said there was no charge this time and I got two pictures. May vary in different trusts. I'm in Scotland so different NHS completely

YouCantBeSirius · 29/01/2018 18:19

@Stephiewoo I stopped smoking a few years ago but my midwife said they like to test everyone. The machines batteries had ran out though so I never had it done.

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 29/01/2018 18:22

I've never smoked but had to do a CO test. MW said it's a new thing.

Buk88 · 29/01/2018 18:30

@peterpanwendy I’m in Scotland like @YouCantBeSirius so it might be different but they just had a donations tin on the reception desk for those who wanted to pay something for the scan picture.

@Stephiewoo- I’ve never smoked but still had to do the CO test. My midwife said they’d had people who hasn’t smoked but had a high level of CO due to faulty boilers and things so they test everyone just to be on the safe side 😊

Stephiewoo · 29/01/2018 18:34

Done a bit of research on our good old CO test!!
It's all to do with checking we are telling the truth, they will test you now in most appointments, if it's high or you say no they will refer you to support services.

SmashyCup · 29/01/2018 18:41

I didn't get asked to do a CO test.

Scan photos are chargeable where I am. I think it was £5 for one, £10 for three and £20 for eight, or something like that.

Subo2018 · 29/01/2018 18:47

Thank you everyone :), you're all so lovely. Have a lovely pregnancy and hopefully I'll see you on here again in the future Smile

peterpanwendy · 29/01/2018 18:49

Thank you for all the replies re scan photos! Will make sure I take some change :)

milney25 · 29/01/2018 19:24

I got my blood work results today. I'm just wondering what people think to my Down's syndrome risk. It says 1 in 960, I just assumed it would be lower than that. I'll be 33 at delivery. What does everyone else think?

k4rlyb · 29/01/2018 19:26

@peterpanwendy I am feeling better thanks. Still have mild cramping though, my friend is a GP he saw me and said everything is ok but I could have the starting of a UTI could be why I have the cramping?! Who knows.

My midwife made me do a CO test.
We were charged £5 per scan photo, I'm based on Essex.

E2017 · 29/01/2018 19:28

Attempt two at picture. Hopefully without all my details this time.

Meet 'Ted'.

August 2018 #3 - booking appointments and 12 week scans!
Hortonlovesahoo · 29/01/2018 19:30

@subo2018 - i'm so sorry for your loss x

@Stephiewoo - what an awful appointment

Can anyone tell me what a CO test is?

SpriteGirl · 29/01/2018 19:43

@peterpanwendy we’ve been told it’s £5 and to bring a card as they only take card!

@Stephiewoo oh my God that sounds awful!

milney25 · 29/01/2018 19:43

@Hortonlovesahoo it's a carbon monoxide test. You have to blow into a think that's a bit like when you get tested for asthma. It measures damage done by smoking, but also other things that can cause damage like pollution.

peterpanwendy · 29/01/2018 19:43

I'm worrying myself silly about my scan tomorrow. What if I get there and they can't see anything? I swear my anxiety isn't normal I am more nervous than excited now I just want it over and done with!
