@BunBunMum hope it settles down and stops for you, very worrying but hopefully it’s nothing serious x

BertieBotts · 20/01/2018 20:26

Oh no Bun I hope it settles down soon.

Gem I'm sure it won't matter to miss the occasonal day :)

Welcome Angharad

For anyone else who is a bit nuts like me Blush I've got really into this youtube channel called nurture, they post a load of different pregnancy and parenting documentaries and they're all really interesting! Mostly stuff skimmed direct from normal TV channels, so not sure it's very legit but they do have some of their own stuff too - I haven't watched any of those yet. Currently on a sort of Irish version of One Born Every Minute!

Angharad07 · 20/01/2018 22:25

@bertiebotts I’m doing exactly the same thing! Those nurture videos are addictive! And thanks for the welcome 😊

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 20/01/2018 22:26

Congrats to everyone who has had scans! Mine is Tuesday, feels like forever away!! My little boy keeps asking when he is getting a baby brother or sister!! So cant wait to see his face when i tell him!! When are others with other DCs telling them?!

I am so scared i am going to go on Tuesday and something is wrong 😔

Also, last night i started with pain in loqer abdomen at the end of having a wee.. obviously no docs open till Monday and the out of hours is across town to me and i dont drive! Will i be ok waiting till monday unless of course i get worse?!

Sorry not posted a great deal, feels like i dont get 5 mins atm! And when i do, im asleep!! Haha.

BertieBotts · 20/01/2018 22:44

Rainbows try those cystitis sachets from the chemist tomorrow - would be better than nothing for now. You don't want to let cystitis advance in pregnancy as it can be quite dangerous. And keep drinking water! My home remedy for cystitis is to flush it out with plenty of water.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/01/2018 23:22

@RainbowsAndUnicorns23 if you see any pink when you wipe after weeing or any blood in your wee then call 111 and get an out of hours appointment for antibiotics. If UTIs progress fast they can be really dangerous (speak from bitter experience). In the meantime drink loads of water, fx it's not a serious one.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/01/2018 23:23

Just seen you don't drive. Nhs 111 would send you a taxi if it's an emergency OOO appointment. Don't mean to scare you just keep an eye out for worsening of symptoms

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 20/01/2018 23:31

Thank you for the advice. I might just get a bus tomorrow as don't want to risk it going to kidney. Theres been no pink as yet and it doesn't sting like other times i have had it, its just the lower abdomen pain.

milney25 · 21/01/2018 09:59

How are you doing this morning @BunBunMum ?

BunBunMum · 21/01/2018 10:10

I’m ok thanks @milney25. There was a bit more blood in the night and a couple of tiny clots but nothing since. Just don’t know what to think. Frustrating it’s a weekend so no GP/EPU etc. Just going to take it as easy as the toddler allows today and not go to work tomorrow so I can phone the GP x

milney25 · 21/01/2018 10:45

@BunBunMum well it sounds like it's eased. Every incident I've had of bleeding has taken a couple of days to tail off. So maybe that's what's happening now for you

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 21/01/2018 12:36

@BunBunMum hope it eases for you and you get to rest, i know its not easy with toddler! Only today to get through then gps open in the morning.

I am at out of hours today as my pain when having a wee has gotten worse and keep getting a pain in my lower back as well! Just feel genrally uncomfortable and don't want to wee!

So annoying when these things happen on weekends isn't it!

Buk88 · 21/01/2018 15:10

@RainbowsAndUnicorns23 hope you’ve gone on ok at OOH

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 21/01/2018 16:32

Thanks @Buk88.

Just got home from OOH. I have got a urine infection and have been prescribed Nitrofurantoin. I asked if this was safe and the doctor said yes, have also had a google and also says is safe as long as not in last few weeks of pregnancy.

Stephiewoo · 21/01/2018 16:34

Hope you're all well today girls. Felt like a right old bint today, didn't feel at all
Pregnant until I went clambering around at soft play with dd!!!😂

Buk88 · 21/01/2018 16:57

@RainbowsAndUnicorns23 so glad to hear it- hopefully you’ll feel much better soon 😊

Beanmama18 · 21/01/2018 17:13

Help. So today I went to our local pharmacy to pick up my prescription of aspirin (advised by my midwife due to first pregnancy and high bmi). Anyway the pharmacist initially refused to give me it due to it being harmful for the baby. She reluctantly gave me it after I explained the midwife had recommended it. I'm not due to start taking it for a couple more weeks once I'm 12 weeks but now I'm too scared to take it.

Stephiewoo · 21/01/2018 18:12

@Beanmama18 From google!!!!

Taking a prescribed dose of aspirin, together with the drug heparin, helps to prevent the clots from forming. This treatment can dramatically reduce the risk of miscarriage. Low-dose aspirin therapy is safe during pregnancy, and its benefits for you if you have Hughes Syndrome outweigh any potential harm.

Expecto · 21/01/2018 18:53

@BunBunMum so sorry for not responding earlier but I just read your post. Last time round I spotted around 6 weeks and it was a Saturday so I went straight to A&E. They requested an ultrasound for me that day but the ultrasound ward (not antenatal ultrasound) was fully booked that day but they called me first thing on Sunday and told me to come in for an emergency scan.

On a separate note I haven’t had a scan yet but everyone around me has pretty much guessed I’m preggaz so now I’m panicking abit more...feeling the pressure

Gem173 · 21/01/2018 19:03

Literally just popped to co op in the wind and rain on my own to get choc ices and a vienetta lol
Hope everyone’s getting on okay and try not to worry too much xx

milney25 · 21/01/2018 19:49

Question for anyone on cyclogest. I presumed I would just stop, but I've read online about going down to one a day, and then maybe alternating days. What has anyone else been told?

Hannahcarp27 · 21/01/2018 19:56

So this is my second pregnancy and this time I have no symptoms at all. Still bf my 13 month DD so no sore boobs, no sickness either. Anyone else the same? Going to have a private scan Friday for my birthday as my nhs Scan isn't for a few weeks!! A little bit of symptoms would be reassuring

WaitingforToto · 21/01/2018 20:18

I'm the same @Hannahcarp27 I feel totally un-pregnant. It's really unnerving, but I've had a private scan at 7 weeks (I'm 9 now) and having another along with the NIPT testing in a couple of weeks so trying to stay positive. I started spotting last night too which was quite upsetting but it's stopped now. I'm counting the days until my next scan! Try to stay positive!

E2017 · 21/01/2018 21:13

@milney25 I questioned coming off cyclogest a couple of days ago. My midwife told me to just stop taking when I ran out. Occasionally people start bleeding apparently. Was just told if I did start bleeding then to call EPU and they would see me and potentially put me back on it. Fingers crossed no bleeding so far. She did say that by 10 weeks your body should be producing enough hormones naturally. X

BunBunMum · 21/01/2018 21:26

Thanks @Expecto. I think the Early pregnancy unit is only open Mon-Thurs here and A&E is always a complete nightmare. Nothing that could be done even if it is going wrong so just so frustrating waiting and not knowing. I’m still bleeding, red blood and few small clots but nothing major. I’m fearing the worst though. I’ll be calling my GP as soon as they open tomorrow x
