September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

@Paranormalbouquet I had the bowels problem with DC1! It was pretty much my only symptom for weeks and it was horrific! I'd of much rather it have been sick instead! Feel for you!

Paranormalbouquet · 04/01/2018 09:47

Fia that’s good to hear! Had it on and off with DD and seems to be the same now. It’s meant to be constipation!!

Itching to book a scan now but will try to hold off til 8 weeks when the hospital have booked me in.

Bloating bad today. Jeans digging in and I’ve not gained any weight. Anyone have any nice soft thick leggings/treggings that could be passed off as trousers? I’m hourglass shaped and pregnancy does not suit me as I lose my best feature (waist)!

Namechangedtoscream · 04/01/2018 10:11

Currently trying to get hold of EPU to book in for a reassurance scan. Never good when the consultants secretary says "oh yes I remember you!" Perhaps if they'd better cared for me they wouldn't need to "remember" me!

dingdongdigeridoo · 04/01/2018 10:18

Thick jeggings are good at this point. I’ve been wearing some nice stretchy cotton ones with a massive waistband. So comfy. And long tops. I look a bit of a state, but it’s january so everyone looks ill.

I swear one of the maternity ranges used to do an early pregnancy range for when you get a little bump. There’s always bump bands.

Namechangedtoscream · 04/01/2018 10:19

First scan next Friday!

peterpanwendy · 04/01/2018 10:20

Had my Booking appt with the midwife today at 8+5! Feeling more real now, she was so nice and reassuring ☺️ I am still feeling rotten I need something to take the edge off this nausea :(

peterpanwendy · 04/01/2018 10:42

I realised I posted that on the wrong thread... baby brain already? I am sorry 😅

blondie1001 · 04/01/2018 10:42

Yay for your scan namechangedtoscream next Friday will be there before you know it!

Loving seeing all these digitals. I'm trying to stop myself from buying one because I'm skint but I think I might go out and get one at lunchtime.

I had no symptoms until yesterday and then they hit me all at once. Now I'm a bloated, nauseous, knackered, weepy person. I could barely get out of bed this morning. Luckily DH got up at 6 with my 2 year-old DS so I got a bit of a lie in. I can't want to get into the second tri for so many reasons!

LostMyBaubles · 04/01/2018 10:57

Newlook has a sale on their maternity range atm

CuppaSarah · 04/01/2018 11:01

Just found out I have to see the gp in order to make my booking in appointment, every other time I just booked direct with the midwives. What a waste of the gps time.

I'm desperate to go buy more tests. I just can't believe there's a tiny tiny dot of a baby in there.

blondie1001 · 04/01/2018 11:03

I have to see the GP too CuppaSarah and I can't get an appointment until I'm 8 weeks so goodness knows when my booking appointment will be!

Namechangedtoscream · 04/01/2018 11:06

Can you not ask for a same day telephone appointment?

Paranormalbouquet · 04/01/2018 11:14

A friend of mine has been trying to conceive for years and has finally got her BFP following ivf (just before Xmas). She’s obviously very anxious and talking to me a lot about it. I’m wondering if I should tell her that I’m pregnant too- didn’t want to steal her thunder straight away and she’s got a viability scan next week so was planning on leaving it until then but don’t want her to think she’s been sharing everything with me while I’ve been holding back? What do you all think?

Paranormalbouquet · 04/01/2018 11:16

Can’t understand why you need to see a GP first- complete waste of appointment!

LostMyBaubles · 04/01/2018 11:18

Para, maybe give a day or 2 and then tell her?
Or wait until scan?

I'm not sure what the best is.

Me and a friend were both ttc same time. She had mc 3 months ago and has just started again.

I was worried I would upset her (I first asked if she had any good news) then she asked me. She was genuinely happy for me
Was really nice.

Sorry went a bit of topic lol

My skin has dried up a lot today so going to try and drink loads again today despite already drinking lots lol

LostMyBaubles · 04/01/2018 11:19

Defo try and ask for telephone appt

CuppaSarah · 04/01/2018 11:40

Paranormal congratulations to your friend! Maybe tell her after 12 weeks? That way she won't have the fear of her having a miscarriage and you not. She's so lucky to have you going through it with her though.

Bearsonstairs · 04/01/2018 12:04

Eurgh I have just seen to have a general symptom of stomach pain. Mixture of constipation, needing to wee, cramps I think. No nausea yet but I do feel hungry all the time - which is not helpful with the post-Xmas diet!

MonaTheMoaner · 04/01/2018 13:28

My bloods look fine but the doctor said they’d still like to scan early to make sure the baby is in the right place and there’s no cysts etc so I’m booked in for next Friday at 6+1. Obviously worried and unsure if much can be seen apart from the location but at least I’ll know a little more as of then.

Luckily I’ve got a really busy weekend and week ahead to take my mind off things and I was sick this morning (!!) so I’m hoping things are going well. Taking another digital on Saturday where it will hopefully show me as 3+ weeks as I’m 5 weeks today though I know they can be a little off.

I think you can wait until the scan Paranormalbouquet. She’ll understand that you were just waiting your turn (as such) so she could have the joy and limelight for a little while and if it were me, I’d think it was a lovely thing to do to hold back on your amazing news so she could have a few weeks to herself to get to grips with her own amazing news.

Fia256 · 04/01/2018 13:52

That's great about your bloods mona! I had a scan at 6w 1day last time and there was just a tiny little blob which they zoomed in on and could clearly see the heart flickering away Smile

Paranormalbouquet · 04/01/2018 14:00

Thanks all, I’d prefer not to tell anyone until I have some idea of how likely my cervix is to hold up. But I’d not like her to be annoyed that I haven’t told her when she’s been sharing with me.

Mona that’s great news. If your hcg levels were checked there really is not much point in doing another digital?!

So bloated this afternoon. Desperate to get home and put on leggings!

Namechangedtoscream · 04/01/2018 14:02

That's great mona seems we are being scanned on the same day at the same stage!

I've had scans like this with varying results. One showed no heartbeat but did the following week, one showed a heartbeat then didn't the following week, had one with a heartbeat up to 8.5 weeks. I'm in 2 minds as to whether I go for my scan next week given my experiences as I won't be able to relax really until I get past the 8.5 week stage that seems to be my nemesis

SantaBaby1 · 04/01/2018 14:08

Well I’m not impressed. Had blood taken yesterday morning to check my hcg levels - phoned today and my results are back, but a doctor hasn’t looked at them yet so the receptionist refuses to tell me anything?! I’ve to phone back tomorrow after 2 and apparantly they will have more info then Angry

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 04/01/2018 14:12

We don't see the GP first here. You just ring and ask for a booking in appointment with the midwife. They try to insist that you're at least ten weeks before they'll see you now though (this wasn't the case with my DD in 2015)! I happen to be close friends with one of our local midwives who told me (just in chat, she doesn't know) that they're having problems getting people in for their twelve week scans in time to do the Nuchal test because the booking in appointments are so late! So people are having to have the less reliable Quad blood test instead.

So I've fudged my dates a bit. I'm going in on the 25th January when I'll be 7.5 weeks which will give me several weeks to get booked in for my 12 week scan.

CuppaSarah · 04/01/2018 14:25

We've not too long moved so just registered with the gp and asked the receptionist how to sort my booking in appointment. She was so lovely and arranged a telephone consultation from Tuesday as I mentioned I needed aspirin while pregnant. She even marked my paperwork to urgent.

Super thrilled to hear this Mona I had a scan at 5.5 I saw a heartbeat then, but did need a transvaginal.

Lots of early scans and appointments going on which is exciting. Especially as the early weeks are so slow. I ended up buying tests and with a less than one hour hold that was very diluted I got a nice strong line. Nearly as dark as the control on supermarket cheapies. Feel momentarily relieved.
