Oh goodness! I didn’t see your news yesterday @mummyloves09

Will be thinking of you this weekend, and obviously wishing you all the luck in the world. Hopefully your little one will hang on for a few days. Please update us when you can. Flowers

Elpheba · 23/02/2018 21:02

Thinking of you mummyloves. Glad you're in the best place possible and that they've started steroids etc. Hope they can keep you cooking bab for as long as possible and keeping everything crossed. Sending hugs- we're all thinking of you.

usernamegoeshere · 23/02/2018 21:04

aw mummyloves, thinking of you this weekend xxx

Mummyloves09 · 23/02/2018 23:46

Thank you ladies for all the support and kind words, this means the world to us atm.
Yesterday feels like the worst day of my life. The fear and shocked that hit us was unreal.
Today we are trying our best to be stronger. I really couldn't have done this without my partner and my mum seriously.
Update; baby is doing good bad an emergency growth scan she is estimated 1lb 13oz. She is getting blood from me properly, placenta and umbilical cord is working well. They check her heart, brain and kidneys they are all great. (Follow up scan 8/3/18)
I'm still on antibiotics to clear and prevent any infection. Had my second steroids injection for her lungs at 10:40pm.
Waiting on Drs to decide on discharge tomorrow all being well however I will be referred to obstetricians care from now on to try and keep her safe and sound for as long as possible. Midwife and fetal medication (growth scans)will be every 1-2weeks.
Lastly they have confirmed if we last the long keeping baby to 34weeks. Will be the final week before they induce or c section.

Thanks again ladies

Thinking of you & bump mummyloves xx

Mummyloves09 · 24/02/2018 00:05

Sorry for all the typos

  • we had an emergency scan.
  • if she stays the duration until 34 without spontaneous. And any others I have missed I'm sorry. I'm just tired. Thank you @ ××missbright
RockinRobinTweets · 24/02/2018 07:00

She is quite a good size for 25 weeks. Will be keeping everything crossed that she stays out until 34 weeks. How stressful for all of you

ClareB83 · 24/02/2018 08:02

Yes she is a good size. My twins are a week ahead and she's the same size as the biggest.

All sounds very positive that they're happy to wait until 8/3 to scan you again.

Great news for an awful situation fingers crossed she keeps growing but that is a great size for so early xx

Lali1 · 24/02/2018 09:45

@Mummyloves09, so sorry you have to go through this Flowers ...best of luck and thinking of you and your girl, the latest seem good news under the circumstances.

ElizabethLemon · 24/02/2018 10:23

@Mummyloves09 what a shock for you! Thinking of you and your little girl, fingers crossed she stays put for as long as possible. Sounds like she’s a good size though xx

SparklesandBubbles · 24/02/2018 10:59

@Mummyloves09 - how are you doing? There was a recent post on FB where a lady's waters had broken at 24 weeks and baby has still not been born at 28 weeks - there were lots of stories of early waters breaking and babies being born later on and were perfectly fine. Just trying to reassure you. Apparently drinking tons of water helps replenish the amniotic fluid. Hope you are ok. Sending big hugs. Thanksxx

Northernbeachbum · 24/02/2018 11:17

@mummyloves09 it sounds like they're taking fantastic care of you both and fingers crossed she stays put as long as possible

Mummyloves09 · 24/02/2018 11:52

Thank you ladies for all the well wishes. Yes I thought she was bigger than I expected being 1lb 13oz however they said her arms and legs are long.

unfortunately the consultant has come in today and said I can't go home. As baby has no waters (confirmed by growth scan yesterday) and can go into labour at any point and she said she can get baby up to NICU in 8 mins, on the other hand, if I go home I will not get that immediate care she will need being 25w + 2 days. So she will review me mid week.

I know I shouldn't but I think I wanted to hear "Go home, baby most probably won't come now and stay in until at least 30weeks." (Reassurance really) so I guess the reality just hit me (Again) so I cried for 5 mins then got myself together as consultant said "This is the best place for the baby right now. Being so young gestational wise."

I feel like I have highjacked the thread which is not fair so next update will be hopefully when I leave the hospital.

All take care and look after yourselves and bump x

ElizabethLemon · 24/02/2018 12:03

@Mummyloves09 it must be so worrying, be kind to yourself. I know it’s trite but you really are in the best place. Will your big girl be able to come and visit?

SparklesandBubbles · 24/02/2018 14:01

@Mummyloves09 please don't feel you are hijacking the thread. In my opinion that is exactly what this group is for. To offer support and advice to fellow mums and be an outlet for anyone going through a tough time. So feel free to post away. It may seem harsh but you really are in the best place for you and baby. You may well be there for a while as I'm sure the doctors will want baby to stay put for as long as possible. Are your family able to visit easily? xx

ClareB83 · 24/02/2018 14:07

Exactly what @SparklesandBubbles says - this is the whole point of this thread: to support each other.

Yh my dd1 has visited me and I feel it's alot for her at the moment as it was only me and her at home when my waters broke (I was all over the place and she is only 8years old). So she was very confused (I had to clarify and tell her it was all ok). So I have seen her once since being in hospital. She was enjoying time with grandad ( as he spoils her lol).

Yes I will get dp to bring my notebook from home and some magazines.

Please tell me how you all are getting on? Anything new going on with anyone?

ClareB83 · 24/02/2018 15:29

News:

Hospital have sent me more contradictory appointment letters. Just going to ask in person when we're in next.

I bought the first thing for my hospital bag - a massive nighty from peacocks that unbuttons for breastfeeding.

Trying not to worry about the boys reduced growth rates as I know logically there's nothing I can do about it and next scan isn't til 7/3. Worrying about it anyway and drinking more milk as if the calcium will fix all.

Mummyloves09 · 24/02/2018 16:12

@ClareB83 thats good, getting organised for your little bubbas.

Sorry about the reduction in weight hopefully boys will pick up quicker than you realise☺.

RockinRobinTweets · 24/02/2018 16:28

Don’t be daft mummy all part & parcel of an antenatal thread.

I’m thinking about my consultant meeting quite a bit now as it’s fairly soon. Need to decide an exit strategy so not sure about what to think at the moment.

We bought a cot mattress from IKEA today. That was our last bigger item so just little bits now and the nursery is coming together. Quite exciting!

Mummyloves09 · 24/02/2018 16:50

@Rockinrobintweets fingers crossed for your meeting hope it all goes well.

Mattress sounds good and now minimal stuff left that's really good.

Well ladies next week is March so not long to go now.

ElizabethLemon · 24/02/2018 16:54

I had an appointment with the midwife at the hospital earlier this week and she did a quick scan so my ds could see his brother again. He was rubbing his nose and crossing his legs so my ds1 was quite entertained!

Another hcp sorted out my BP and it was sky high, like hospital admission high. I panicked but the midwife adjusted the cuff and redid it and it was fine. I have a growth scan, community midwife appointment and glucose test all at 28 weeks so that’s going to be a busy few days!

Apart from that it’s just life as usual, trying to stay warm as it’s bloody freezing and apparently going to be getting even colder!

Mummyloves09 · 24/02/2018 17:08

@Elizabethlemon glad you Bp was a false alarm.
Yes week 28 sounds busy for you but you get to see you baby again which is nice.
Yes I heard about this cold weather on the news is it Siberian winds? Well all wrap up warm and keep bumps insulated.

RockinRobinTweets · 24/02/2018 17:33

Elizabeth I had my gtt too, I’ve had more fun! Hopefully no news this week so I can still eat normally.

I’m so ready for my 28 week appt and to have a listen in and measure. There is so little contact for the second pregnancy
